Swarm to the Top

by rainydaze212

If you've checked the news feature or front page, you might have noticed there is a new game called Swarm. If you haven't already, you should really check it. I've played it quite a bit and I've learned a few dos and don'ts that I would like to share with you, so without further ado....

Object
The object of the game is to kill off every single bug. You basically do this by moving your tank back and forth and shooting the bugs. You get 3 shields and each time a bug hits you, you lose a shield. Once you lose all three shields, you've lost the game. Sounds easy enough right?

Strategy
I have tried several strategies with this game. I will tell you which strategy I like best, but please don't let that stop you from trying the other strategies.

My least favourite strategy is the reckless shooting strategy. Just hitting the spacebar and moving back and forth. First of all, this is a good way to shoot your own temple, which is not a good thing. Second of all, your more likely to get hit.

My favourite strategy is the "divide and conquer strategy" (nice name, huh?) Basically, you shoot all the bugs in the middle. Then you shoot all the bugs in the 2 rows on the left and finally all the bugs in the 2 rows on the right. This one keeps you focused and you are less likely to get hit.

Okay, so there are only 2 strategies, develop some of your own!

Another Important Thing (nice heading title, I know)
Sometimes you will get bonuses for shooting the odd coloured bugs. It is important to memorize what these bonuses do, or rather, which ones are good and which ones are bad, so let me help you:

Good:
Light blue = makes your tank smaller (thus harder to hit)
Dark blue = makes your tank faster(and easier to dodge the green things)
Orange = high-power weapon (do more damage to the bugs)
Pink = extra shield (really good, yet really rare)
Brown= rebuild towers (really good, try to get this one towards the end when all your towers are damaged)

Bad:
Green = makes your tank bigger (and easier to hit)
Yellow = makes your tank slower (and harder to dodge green things)

That's about it, just remember to go for the good and avoid the bad ones.

One final thing is, have fun! This is a great game that can give you lots of points and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
