I am writing this article
in response to the one by ilocandy. It explained how to make your pet
a vegetarian. This was very helpful, as now all of my pets are proud vegetarians.
I slowly 'broke' them from the habits of carnivores. Read on to see the
steps!
1) You should always feed your pet until he/she is at
least satiated. This means you have to feed them several times a week.
Start of with a mixed diet, some meats and add in a few fruits or vegetables
(if you allow them to eat breads, milk, and eggs, add these in as well).
2) The next time you feed them that week, cut back on
the meat a bit. This is when I cut back on the bread and sweets (my pets
only get sweets occasionally).
3) Keep cutting back, until you have them on a full vegetarian
diet. This slow process lets them adjust to their new meatless diet, and
may help them from getting an illness.
My pets now eat only Organic Food, Vegetarian Food (Veggie
Sausage, Vegan Cheese, etc.), and miscellaneous fruits and vegetables.
This may not seem like a lot, but their is a lot! Especially fruits, where
there are 'regular' fruits, as well as Mystery Island and Tyrannian types.
If you have them on an eggless and milkless diet, do not be tempted to
feed them Tigersquash or TeaLeef Sandwiches, either! Although they have
fruit, you can never be sure if milk and/or eggs have been used in the
bread. Some more things I have become aware of are Banana Grubs, and Banana
and Raspberry Milkshakes. Do not let their name fool you :)
I try not to let my pets have much chocolate either,
since it contains milk. They do get Cherries Jubilee and Chia Pops sometimes.
Of course they don't eat the changing ones, but more like the Splime Chia
Pops, made of Spinach and Lime.
Hopefully this helped you a bit in helping your pet become
a vegetarian :)
