My name is Kevii, and I am a Fire Lupe with quite a strange
story! When you read this story, I want you to remember that colour and
species mean absolutely nothing...
It was a hot, sunny day. The sun was burning, and people
were outside looking as if they were walking through a desert. I, Kevii,
was practicing my pouncing on a Chia Plushie. I've gotten quite good at
it! That's when my mommy ran out.
"Kevii! C'mon in and get your stuff, we're going on a
vacation to Mystery
Island! Can you believe it? It's hotter here than there!" laughed
mommy.
It was a fabulous idea! Maybe I would have a chance to
visit the Training School and take a course! So, I quickly ran inside
and packed up my Neo Baseball Cap, my Cool
Shades, the Chia Plushie I was pouncing on, and a Water Bottle.
Mommy handed me some Sun Screen, so I packed that in too.
"Hold on Kevii, I'm calling a cab!" said mommy.
When the NeoCab arrived, I loaded my back pack in the
trunk and sat in the back. The strange looking Techo who was driving asked,
"Where to?"
"Mystery Island, sir," replied mommy.
The drive was long, but shorter than I imagined. When
we got there, mommy paid the 80 NP she owed the Taxi Driver, and I ran
out of the car, happy to be standing up again.
"OK, Kevii, I'll take your back pack and put it in the
Neolodge, here's some NP, go on a tour or something, OK? "
"Sure mommy!" I said taking the 120 NP out of mommy's
hand. I didn't feel like taking a tour so I walked over to the crowded
beach.
I looked around at the NeoPets in the water and I (I
have very good eye sight) saw a Chia drowning from far away. As much as
I hated Chias, I ran into the water, swam across, and plucked the Chia
out. The Striped Chia was gasping for air. When it saw me, I was expecting
it to run, and scream! But instead the little Chia said, "Hi! Thank you
so much! My name is Cooka, what's yours?"
Cooka. What a silly name. "I'm Kevii. Um... nice
to meet you... I guess."
Cooka laughed. "I know your not used to a Chia who isn't
afraid of Lupes, but my bro is a Lupe and we get along very well. Listen,
as a thank you, why don't I get you some ice cream!"
If you know me, you know I never pass up an offer for
free ice cream. So we went to the Ice Cream Stand nearby.
"Ummm....." I said, picking one of the flavours, "I'll
have the Peach, please."
"And I'll have the....um....Toffee!"
"Coming right up!" said the Skeith at the stand as Cooka
handed him the NP. "Here you go! Your Ice Cream cones!"
We took the cones and Cooka started to tell me about
her past. "When I was born," she said, "I was red. I was the second pet,
after my brother Kilko. Kilko was a blue Lupe, who's very strong at Level
18. I loved my daddy and always helped to restock the shops, sort out
the Neopoints, and clean our NeoHome. A week or so after my birth, I was
painted Striped. It was one of the best day's in my life! Or so I though
then. That same day, daddy had abandoned me. He left and never returned.
I didn't want to go to the pound, so me and Kilko have been struggling
to get NP, and food everyday. We never get toys or anything like that."
I could see she was almost crying. "We came here in search of a NeoHome,
but no luck."
Suddenly, it hit me! Mommy had a few extra rooms! Maybe,
she could be part of our loving family, along with Kilko! I really liked
Cooka! In fact, she was my friend. "Cooka!" I yelled "My mommy...will...um...maybe,
you know, you can...uh...well....live with me and my mommy!"
"Really?!!" screamed Cooka, "You mean it?" She started
to cry. "That would be great!"
"Come with me! I'll ask mommy!"
We ran towards the Neolodge just as mommy was coming
out. "Mommy!" I yelled "Y'know how you were thinking of adopting a pet?
And all that extra room in our NeoHome? Well, I was thinking maybe you
could adopt Cooka and her brother Kilko!"
Cooka smiled the cutest smile she could pull off. As
mommy looked at Cooka and saw her smile, her heart melted. "Sure Kevii!
Hello Cooka! You can stay with us at the Neolodge, and when we get home,
I have a room for you and Kilko!"
"Thank you! Thank you soo much!" said Cooka, hugging
my mommy. She ran off to tell Kilko the good news!
When we returned to Neopia, Cooka and Kilko quickly adjusted
to their new surroundings and they loved they're new family. I began to
love my new sister and brother. They were my best friends! And remember,
Species and colour are nothing, it's the inside that counts!
