1) Do not go buying things to waste your NP. I did that
and I went SO bankrupt! Sign up with every sponsor you can, get a discount
card, and remember, surf around the site and you may find something special!
Get a Bank Account which will give you 30 NP, and not only that, but give
you interest! Don't create pets just to get 50 NP 'cause you will have
to end up feeding them and all. If you need to heal, go to the Healing
Faerie in Faerieland or for food, go to the Giant Omelette at the Tyrannian
Plateau. Go to the Snowager in the Ice Caves to get random items (Remember
what time he goes to sleep). Play games that don't cost money to play
Kiko Match, Lenny Trivia, and other Flash Games to gain NP.
2) Before you even start a shop, make sure you have a
few hundred NP over 250 NP. When you start a shop, 250 NP will be deducted
from your account. With that extra NP you have, buy stock (Don't go and
buy Paintbrushes to sell), as in buy things people may need regularly
e.g. food, toys but later on you might think to put in rare items.
3) A LITTLE bit of layout is good, but not too much (I
can't stress that enough) because once, I went to a shop. It had moving
backgrounds, lovely music, but it never loaded! No one would stay longer
than 1 minute, waiting for it to pull itself together. That will drive
away your customers. Also, A good name and opening statement can attract
quite a few people. Be sure to correct punctuation and grammar in text,
because it will be difficult to read. Oh, and another thing, don't put
too much text in. People go there to shop, not to read 4 pages of greetings.
Do not put threatening statements (Duh!) in your shop because I went to
a shop and the shopkeeper said "Buy something or be hacked!". That made
me storm out of the store without even THINKING of buying anything!
4) Finally... The estimated price for items has usually
been changed because of rival shops selling them at different prices.
e.g. A Techo Transmogrification Potion says to be 50,000 NP, but no one
will buy it for that much. If you look in the Shop Wizard, you will see
that the cheapest price is way below it (approx. 1200 NP). Do this with
every item you get, but remember, also look at the first few prices at
the Shop Wizard.
For example:
Organic Apple - 3 NP
Organic Apple - 4 NP
Organic Apple - 30 NP
Organic Apple - 35 NP
You see that there is a large difference between the
first few prices. In this circumstance, do NOT compete with the first
two listings. They will be soon sold out, and your profits will be wasted
because if the first two were sold.
For example:
Organic Apple - Your Price Here (e.g. 2 NP due to competition)
Organic Apple - 30 NP
Organic Apple - 35 NP
Organic Apple - 35 NP
Organic Apple - 40 NP
Your price will be ridiculously low compared to the next
listing, but the slightest change in price can effect your listing greatly.
For example, if you changed your price to 29 NP, this
is what it would look like:
Organic Apple - Your Price Here (e.g. 29 NP)
Organic Apple - 30 NP
Organic Apple - 35 NP
Organic Apple - 35 NP
Organic Apple - 40 NP
Your price will still be on top, and you will gain your
hard earned NP! Remember that no one sale will make you rich. It takes
a lot of time and patience and NP!!! But follow my rules and you should
be okay.
