Interview with a Comic Strip!

NO! I didn't interview a "comic strip"! LOL! But I did interview the artist and writer of those fab Neo Comics. Now I am sure that of you have read last week's edition to the Neopian Times and have seen the Neo Comics, which have been in the last 2 issues. Now the second my pets saw them they were hooked! They absolutely loved them. And I have to admit they have good reason...... they are very funny and very well done! So I decided that I would find out more about this mysterious author. So I Neomailed her.....lucky me, I got an interview with a Comic Strip! J/K! Well, I suppose you're getting impatient so here it is!

Chikorita68: How did you come up with the idea for a comic?

Cyaneus: Well, I was reading old issues of the Neopian Times and I saw that in issue two there was a comic series.

Chikorita68: How long have you been writing comics?

Cyaneus: For over 7 years now!

Chikorita68: Did you draw the pictures yourself?

Cyaneus: Yes. I do it on the computer, but it is a bit difficult and takes a long time. Before I got a scanner that is the way I did it, so now I am used to drawing with a mouse.

Chikorita68: Do you write your own scripts?

Cyaneus: Yes, I do. But I let my friends and family inspire me. If someone has an idea I like I try to use it. A friend of mine who also makes comics used to say, "My mind is a sponge for comic material. When I see something funny I soak it up, and when I sit down to draw, I squeeze it out."

Chikorita68: Do you have any sayings of you own?

Cyaneus: Well, my favourite is, "Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool." But that really doesn't have much to do with comics, does it?

Chikorita68: Other than friends and family, what inspires you?

Cyaneus: Everything! I am in to all of the arts. And I get ideas from playwrights as well as Saturday morning cartoons. And of course, NeoPets.

Chikorita68: Do you have any pets?

Cyaneus: Yes. Having 7 in your household provides for some excitement too. I always have someone to pose for a drawing if I need it. And of course, my lovely NeoPets--they provide me with the best inspiration.

Chikorita68: What do you like to write comics about?

Cyaneus: I have several different comics. Some simple, others diverse. I often base characters on friends, and stories on things that have really happened.

Chikorita68: Do your friends mind that you write about them??

Cyaneus: Not usually. I hardly ever name my characters after people, and I usually ask first. Most people love to be caricatured in a comic.

Chikorita68: Are you going to continue writing them for the Neopian Times??

Cyaneus: It's a lot of fun. If they keep posting them, I'll keep writing them. I've gotten a good response from the two that I've done so far...we'll see how it goes.
