Alicia the Chia was strolling down the dusty country
road back to her cottage. She couldn't wait to see her owner Aliza again.
It was such a lovely day but, she heard no birds singing and the flowers
seemed to have lost their delighting fragrance. Then a wave of anxiety
swept over her body. She began to shake furiously under the weight of
the anxiety. It felt like it was engulfing her in an ocean of fear even
though she didn't know what she was afraid of.
While this was going on , a hideous beast was silently
watching her waiting for the precise moment to attack. It slinked along
the tall grass, its belly dragging along in the dirt. Soon, Alicia was
so terrified that she couldn't move. Her pulse raced and cold sweat drenched
her fur. Just then a deafening bellow filled the air. Out of the grass
jumped the Monocerous! Alicia was paralyzed with fear. She tried to scream
but nothing came out. For at least two minutes nobody moved, since Alicia
stood still the Monocerous could not sense her presence. Then, out of
no where, Alicia let out a scream that pierced the air. She ran as fast
as her stubby legs could carry her, but it was no use, the Monocerous
had gotten her. She went unconscious from the trauma.
Miles away, Aliza, her owner, was tending her garden,
when she heard Alicia's piercing scream. Immediately she knew it was her
beloved Chia's. She raced across the countryside to the spot she heard
it coming from.
Meanwhile, the Monocerous was carrying the limp Alicia
to a tiny cove above a lake. It went inside and the room was filled with
beeping machines and sharp instruments. A pleasant yet demented voice
spoke, "Excellent job my child."
Aliza had finally reached the country road Alicia had
once walked. She looked all over for some sign of where she could be.
She began to become extremely distressed for she could not find her precious
pet. She picked a flower, maybe it's scent would cheer her up. She held
it up to her nose, but it smelled of nothing. She picked up another, it
too had no scent either.
"Come to think of it," thought Aliza, "none of these
flowers has much of a scent, and why aren't the birds singing either?"
She gracefully sat up, but a very strange thing happened,
the air next to her seemed to waver as she moved. Aliza now knew that
this certainly was not the countryside she knew. She swung her arms powerfully
through the air. The scene dissipated along the line her arm traveled.
Replacing the countryside was the same laboratory Alicia was in. Aliza
gasped in horror.
A tiny voice echoed from a corridor. Aliza recognised
it as Alicia's and ran as fast as she could. A few seconds later she was
swinging open a large wooden door to the chamber. To her surprise, thousands
of pets were trapped in cages. Everything from Lupes to Unis were crying
and trembling with fear.
"This is awful!" said Aliza, "These pets must all miss
their owners, people have said all these pets just disappeared! But no
some sick minded person must have done all this!"
"Quite right, my dear Aliza," said a voice. Aliza whipped
around. There standing was a shadow covered man in a lab coat. Followed
were at least five Monocerous.
"Y-y-you!" gasped Aliza, "you are the Monocerous dweller,
Jache!"
"She knows too much!" said Jache, "Take her away!" The
Monocerous closed in on Aliza and carried her away as she kicked and screamed.
Alicia heard her owner and began to go into hysterics. A Techo asked her
what was wrong. Alicia told him that they were taking his owner away.
The Techo said, "Oh my gosh! You're owner is still alive, that's amazing!
Normally they just feed the owners to the Monocerous first before they
feed us to them!"
"What do you mean?" asked Alicia, "that's what they want
with us and our owners, to feed us to the Monocerous!?"
"Yes," said the Techo," When the owners try to save their
pets they just feed them to the Monocerous, then they turn to all of us
pets, it seems like more and more of us just disappear everyday."
"WELL, LET'S SAVE ALIZA AND ALL OF THESE OTHER PETS!"
said Alicia.
"How..." asked Techo.
"HEY EVERYONE!" said Alicia, "SHAKE YOUR CAGES WE'RE
GETTING OUT OF HERE!!"
Suddenly a rattling of cages filled the air, and just
as the beasts were about to swallow the beautiful Aliza, they rushed into
the pet's chamber. One by one, the pets broke free and a whole legion
of pets filled the laboratory. The Monocerous and Jache became extremely
frightened, this many pets certainly poses as a problem!
The pets all attacked. When the enemies were too weak
to move, the pets put Jache and the Monocerous into cages to show them
how it felt to be treated that way. Then, Aliza starting walking back,
but she couldn't help thinking about all of the owner less pets. The kind
hearted Aliza couldn't bear to leave them all alone, so she offered to
adopt them all! The pets were overjoyed! Never in a long time had they
been this happy! They all left leaving the evil locked forever in their
own traps.
EPILOGUE: The countryside soon returned to its original
state since the evil was gone, the flowers smelled more beautiful and
the birds sang more sweetly than ever before. The evil Jache and his demented
Monocerous never escaped from their cages.
