Professor Little Lysshu’s NeoGame Guide to Meerca Chase

by LittleLysshu

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the Neopian Times…(dramatic music)…here I am again with another guide! Well forgive me, but Meerca Chase stole my heart…and by golly the only way to get it back is to tell everyone else about it! So here are my facts, tips and tricks for getting a good score on Meerca Chase. Once again I don’t have the glowing record I do at Cheat…but I HAVE done quite well so far! That says a lot for how easy this game is…but hey, it sure is fun!

Meerca Facts:

1) Meerca Chase is a game of skill, but NOT speed. There is no time limit.

2) The shortest distance between two Neggs MAY be a straight line, but it can also be the fastest way to end your game!

3) The location and color of Neggs is totally random! There is no pattern, no way to calculate when or where the Red Neggs will pop up.

4) You do not have to hit a Negg dead center to “eat” it. You can hit the stem, the very bottom, the “belly”, or even the area with the shadow. This applies to both good and bad Neggs.

5) You can only move horizontally or vertically, but with practice you can almost move diagonally.

6) It IS possible, with practice, to be right up against the edge of the wall.

7) There is NO WAY to stop your Meerca. It will keep traveling in the same direction until a) it hits a wall b) it eats a red Negg, or c) you move it in a new direction.

8) Even the “Easy” level’s speed varies somewhat. Keep this in mind.

Meerca Tricks:

1) If you used your mouse to press the “start” button, get the cursor off the screen ASAP.

2) If you are right-handed, put your middle finger on the up arrow button with your ring finger on the left arrow and your pointer on the right. (Sorry lefties…I’m not sure what to tell you!)

3) Don’t make sharp turns unless you have to. This is especially true if you’re near the wall, near a red Negg or have a very long tail.

4) Remember your tail at all times! It IS possible to turn too quickly and hit a very close part of your own tail! Of course it is also possible to run up next to your tail. It’s a BIG risk, and I don’t recommend it.

5) Try to leave one COMPLETE Meerca space between your Meerca and any obstacle, including its’ own tail or even the shadow of a red Negg

6) Begin on the Easy level. The payoffs aren’t the quickest, but until you get practice they’re the best way to earn a lot of NP from this game.

7) Keep your eye on the Meerca’s head at all times.

Well there you have it, everything my “wisdom” has to offer about Meerca Chase. But before I go I wanted to thank every single last one of you who’s sent me letters. I know I’ve thanked you individually…but a big collective THANK YOU to everyone out there! Well, until the bug of inspiration bites me in the behind again...have fun everyone!
