Hello, I am Kaitou Mariko, a respected owner of 4 wonderful NeoPets. I have written this article because I know that for all you Newbies out there, NeoPets is tough. So, here are some questions people have asked me when I put this ad in my shop: (please note, I made up new screen names for people who asked me so they would be protected. Sorry if I used yours! If you have a problem with that, just tell me and I will change it to the best of my ability)

Dear Kaitou,

I am very new to NeoPets and I am having trouble. I just bought all this furniture and made a zillion rooms in my NeoHome, and now I don’t have any Neopoints and no one wants to buy from my store! I have only been here two weeks! Please help me!

It sounds to me like you have a bad case of the buy-whatevers-in-style-itus. Now, of course this is perfectly okay, but since you are a Newbie, it might be best if you just concentrate on survival for now. I suggest that you turn your shop into a furniture store, sell some of the furniture you have for reasonable prices, advertise it in chatrooms, and you will be on top before you know it! Since you can't get money back by demolishing rooms, just keep the ones you have and hold off on your home until you are financially stable.

What you need is to make your guild interesting and new. Give out prizes and hold contests, 24/7. Make everyone eligible to win at least something. But what you really need is something that will appeal to your guests. For example, at my guild, I have a Web site for my guild with a forum and a graphics shop. This is very good because it is unusual and appealing. But most importantly, make a guild that reflects who you are, don’t try to be someone you're not!

I ran into the same problem when I got my job coupon. I discovered I only had a red one. But my pet was very smart (71) so I wrote NeoPets and asked them if the jobs were given out by intelligence as well. They told me that they weren’t sure yet. I think that probably it will be, but I don’t know. I do know that every coupon will go down a level after you use it. I also know that you have to go out and buy things, and you get a reward. But sorry, I don’t think anyone will be really sure until they make the final release (due out soon).

PS I missed the alpha and beta test, too!
