Never Give Up

Shadow a fire Lupe loved watching videos of fighting. His owner was very nice to him and let him practice moves as long as he finished his studies. Shadow's owner also had three other pets Blaze the Kougra, SaitaAdelaide the Cybunny and Sonic the Gelert. Shadow, Blaze, SaitaAdeliade and Sonic were all treated equally. The only thing different was Shadow liked to fight more than the others so he got more battling material but the others didn't mind.

One day, Shadow's owner was in a hurry. She said to Sonic: "Tell the others to get ready. There is a big competition at the Battledome. Tell Shadow to bring some of his battle armor."

Sonic ran up stairs and repeated what she said. While on the trail to the Battledome Blaze ran along Shadow and said, "I think I just saw a Faerie."

SaitaAdeliade who was very interested by Faeries said, “Which one was it?”

“I think it was an Air Faerie.”

SaitaAdeliade pulled out a small blue notebook from her owners purse and wrote:

Sighted: Trail to Battledome**

Ten minutes had passed and finally they were there. Two Grarrls were at both sides of the door. Shadow’s owner called out the number, “I’m number 33565.”

Both of the Grarrls nodded and they walked in. The building they walked into just as its name was in a dome shape. Hundreds of NeoPets were walking around. Shadow’s owner had walked up to the front desk and called Shadow to her side. A lady with the name Mrs. Eva on a tag on her shirt was at the front desk.

“Name, Number and Level please,” Mrs. Eva said in a horse voice.

Shadow’s owner replied, “Shadow, 33565, level 3.”

“Right this way Shadow,” said Mrs. Eva.

Shadow’s owner and her other NeoPets went into a hall labeled "STANDS".

Shadow was lead into a hall with many doors. At the top of the doors it said Level 1, Level 2 and so on. He went into a door that said Level 3. Mrs. Eva smiled as she left even though it looked as if it hurt to do it. In the room there were Kacheeks, Cybunnies, other Lupes and many more. A green Lupe came up to him and said, “Good luck. You’ll need it to beat me."

A small Kacheek came up to Shadow and said, “That’s Barron, the meanest one here. By the way my name is Torissa.”

“My name is Shadow,” Shadow met a few other NeoPets while he was in the room.

Then a loud speaker came on and said, “All level 3’s report to the battle area!”

Shadow suddenly choked up. “What if I lost?” he thought to himself. Torissa could see that Shadow was scared so she told him, “ Don’t worry you will do great!” Shadow felt a little better.

“First up... Torissa and Floppy," the loud speaker rang.

“Good luck!” Shadow called to Torissa.

The battle lasted a long time. Finally Torissa lost. Her owner gave her a healing potion and then went back to the stands. Many more battles were won and lost. Then after what seemed to be hours Shadow was called up to fight against a Kau named Kit. Shadow fought hard and then finally Kit fell over. A loud speaker rang, “Shadow will be going to the finals.”

More battles took place and then the finals began. Shadow fought five other NeoPets and won them all. Shadow was given some healing potion. The loud speaker then said, “Will our two finalists Barron and Shadow please report the battle circle.”

They both did and began to fight. Shadow started out with Frost, it froze Barren but then the ice began to crack. Just as Shadow was about to use the lighting wand Barron broke free and shot fire at Shadow. Shadow was stunned, he couldn’t move. Barron used an evil snowball. Shadow now had one hit point and Barron had 5.

Then Shadow remembered his special move he had learned on his training video. His eyes turned red and began to glow. Shadow howled and then unleashed a bright blue power. It came so fast Barron couldn’t dodge it.

It hit Barron it the chest and he fell to the ground and his last words before he fainted were, "You win.”

Shadow and Barron were both given a healing potion and called to get their award. Barron was given silver metal and Shadow was given a gold metal that read: Battledome Champion. On the back it said, "Never Give Up."
