"And don't go too far! And don't listen to strangers! And pick the berries
you're only sure of! And always stay on the road! And…" My mother continued
to shout. Couldn't my mother see that I was a big girl now, and could
take care of my self? *Sigh* Well, Anyways, I walked to the Berri Forest
to pick some berries. Walk, Walk, Walk, it was kind of far.
I finally reached the Berri Forest, found in the depths of Faerieland.
It looked darker than usual. Anyway, I found the road and walked on it.
I couldn't find any ripe ones! After walking some more, I saw a big gigantic
bush (actually two) with big, huge, ripe berries. There were also some
snowberries, too. But…it was off the road. "Should I," I whispered. It
wasn't that far off, and I'm pretty sure I could find my way back. I was
still deciding until she potted lots of more berries, even more ripened
than the last.
She quickly went off the rode. Pick, Pick, Pick. As I picked the berries
one by one, she could smell the sweet scent of berries. A little bit too
sweet. She felt as though as someone was watching her. She turned around
and saw a small tiny spider in the bushes behind her. Than another, and
another, and another. Until the Spider Queen popped out!
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
I screamed and ran away as quickly as possible. I ran until I could
run no more. When I stopped to rest, I realized that I was nowhere near
the road! "Oh no! I'll never get home now!" I said in a sad
weep. Plus, my basket of hard-picked berry was empty.
"Are you okay?"
A gentle but small voice behind me said, "I-I-I guess…" she sniffed and
turned around to see who was talking to her. It was a Dark Faerie! "What
are you doing in my kingdom, the Dark Faerie kingdom?" she asked.
"I-I kind of got lost. And saw a spider Queen and Ran! And lost all
my berries!" I started crying all over again.
"There, there…" comforted the faerie.
"I think I can help you, if you help me."
"How?"
"Balthazar has trapped one of us and only a NeoPet can free her,"
she explained. "If you do, she'll bless you with Night Vision, so you
can see in the dark. That might help you find the road and get out of
here! Here, I'll lead the way."
"Oh, thank you! But wait, aren't Dark Faeries suppose to be meaner than
the other faeries?" I asked.
"That's our defence system. Long ago, the Dark Faerie was the rarest
one of all, and it was becoming endangered because of all the NeoPets
that started capturing them for fun would not let us go. Anyway, we complained
to the Faerie Queen, and she decided to tell everyone that the Dark Faeries
were mean, and cruel, so pets can be afraid of capturing us all the time.
It worked, but now we have a bad reputation of being mean and cruel. Oh
well, I'd rather have it this way than the other."
We finally got there. I saw hundreds, no, thousands of Dark Faeries,
staring, twirling, surrounding me. It was indeed a beautiful sight. Wow!
This must be the enchanted kingdom! No one has ever seen it before! I
could tell everyone! No, I couldn't, they need freedom!
"Please don't tell anyone!" she said as if reading my mind.
"All of these Faeries would be trapped forever!" I went up to the faerie
and set it free.
"I hereby grant you the ability Night Vision," she said. I expected her
to disappear in a puff a smoke, but she didn't.
"Three cheers for Waterfall1!" they all said. I felt really special,
but I knew I had to leave.
"Thank you all for letting me be here. Thank you for helping me, and
thank you for letting me help you. J."
"Anytime J."
