OK, I know what you're thinking. Another story complaining of high prices
and greedy Neopians. Well, you're kinda right. Every week I get annoyed
at the articles "Poorer Neopians Only Get Poorer" or "Prices Too High."
First things first. I am not what you would call a poor Neopian. At a
little over 200,000 NP my pets are quite comfortable. The important thing
to remember is I DIDN'T START OUT RICH! When I started, you didn't get
500 NP for creating an account, you got 200 NP.
And the soup kitchen? If you didn't have 50 NP or less then you were out
of luck. I started out with a fried egg and one book. That's all. And
you know what? I have never used the soup kitchen. The first way to raise
the money in your bank account is play Kacheek seek. I played until my
pets got bored, because it could make me 500 NP a day! The first time
I became what at the time I considered rich was when I got lucky. I found
a mysterious book for 80 NP, and sold it for 12,050! It is possible, you
can get lucky too!
Next thing I would like to talk about is the complaints over high prices.
Hey, I wish faeries were down to 700 NP and green apples back to 40, but
what am I gonna do? I mean here is an example. When Giga Pets or Tamagotchis
were popular, they sold for $20 a piece. Now I've seen them for $5. Same
goes for Furbies and Beanie Babies.
PRICES WILL GO DOWN. I am sure that when Beanie Babies cost $8 a piece
(for some animal stuffed with bean bag pellets?) you didn't complain about
how expensive they were, you saved your money until you could buy one.
It works exactly the same on NeoPets, except you aren't spending any REAL
money. Save your NP, eventually you will do fine. Until you have that
lucky break, I would advise you just to have fun with NeoPets. It is a
game, meant to be enjoyed, OK?
