The Journey: Part Three The Queen Faerie's Gift

After packing a bag of food, magic, and a tent, they flew off to the Queen Faerie. "Queen Faerie! Please help us! Our owner's been kidnapped by ghosts!" Katrycia cried.

"Do not despair young NeoPets! I shall give you a gift that will help you on your journey!" the Queen Faerie replied.

"But Queen Faerie! We don't even know where the Darkness Faerie lives!" cried Mysteey, a tear running down her cheek.

"THE DARKNESS FAERIE'S BEHIND THIS!" she thundered. She then cleared her throat and continued. "The Darkness Faerie lives atop a tall mountain in the center of Neopia," the Queen Faerie recalled accurately. "Be forewarned, there are many ghosts and things that can hurt you."

"Okay," replied Katrycia, spreading her wings.

"WAIT!" shouted the Queen Faerie. "I must give you your gift!"

The eager Shoyru folded her wings.

"Hmm, let's see..." pondered the Queen Faerie. Katrycia and Mysteey glanced at each other, worried eyes meeting at last. They shuttered, for both were imagining gifts of misfortune.

"I know! I'll send one of my faeries to help you!" she cried. At this their eyes lit up.

"But which one? I know, you can chose which type of faerie you want to accompany you on your quest." At that moment, 4 faeries were in the room. There was an Earth Faerie, a Fire Faerie, a Water Faerie, and last, an Air Faerie. They all smiled sweetly at the young NeoPets before them.

"Choose wisely," the Queen cautioned.

Katrycia nodded and peered back at Mysteey.

"Well, I like all the faeries..." Mysteey began,. "But we should be making this decision together."

"You're right, maybe the... oh boy, this is tough."

"You're telling me. I think we should go with the Air Faerie perhaps," Mystee concluded.

"I was thinking the same thing," Katrycia stated.

"All right then, Starlight, good luck on your journey."

All the other faeries vanished and the Air Faerie took flight. Katrycia stepped outside and spread her wings. They took off, flying toward the mountain.
