Part 1: The Kikos, Cherney and Calvianno, hear a weird voice in school...
Once, in a far-off distant land known as Kikopolis, lived a Kiko named
Cherney and its pet Spydey. One sunny day at school, Cherney heard a hollow
noise going: I will get there this time... I will get there this time.
After she heard the noise she couldn't concentrate on the class any more.
After school she told her friends and was surprised none of them had
heard it. When she got home, she sat at her window looking into the stormy,
swirling skies wondering if she was only dreaming.
The next day she heard the same voice, but now it was saying, In the
woods. It's in the woods, the wood's heart. Cherney wondered what
it meant; she was sure she wasn't dreaming. She knew because when she
heard the sound she saw Calvianno--Cavin for short-- the special striped
Kiko saying, "The wood's heart?"
After class she went to Calvin and asked him if he had heard the sound.
In reply, Calvin said he had been hearing it for three years and had no
idea what it meant. He also said you can only hear it if you're esberrintheytounge(ez-berry-in-the-i-tung),
which means you can hear the voice of Dejoi de Techo, an old detention-bird
of the school. Cherney was really scared now. If she could hear a ghost,
is it out to get her.
She asked her Spydey, one of her friends, if she knew anything about
this ghost. Magically, Spydey said, "He's talking about the lost Lupe
lair in the real heart of the Diggory forest, not in the middle...like
a pumping heart like you and me have." Cherney closed her stiff eyes and
counted to ten and then opened them and said, "Better." Then Spydey said
"Really? G'night," and he dozed into a deep sleep. Was there really a
Lupe lair? She decided to mail the Lupes and ask them.
Part 2-- When Cherney, Calvin, Spydey, and Cyclo see a Lupe ship...
The next morning, the Blumail service arrived and took the letter from
Cherney. They said it would get there in first-class condition. Once she
had eaten breakfast and had gotten ready for school, she heard the voice
again. It said, Thrash, beam, steal, harden. She couldn't understand
now. Did the ghost have secret powers nobody knew about? What had he meant
by "beam" and "harden"? She passed it over when she got to school. Calvin
said he heard it saying, Eye beam of hardening. Cherney had Spydey
with her and Calvin had Cyclo, his Cyclopian. The PetPets made friends
and stayed in pet care the rest of the day.
Later, when Cherney got home, she ran fast to her computer and looked
up the profile of Dejoi de Techo. It showed how he was a master criminal
known for hardening Lupes into stone with an eye beam.
"Thats it!" she cried and quickly e-mailed Calvin...she now knew what
the voice meant. The only thing she didn't know was how to find the forest's
heart. The next day she got mail from the King of Lupopolis. The note
read: Dear Mrs.Cherney and Spydey, Immediately she knew it was for her.
We have reason to believe you want to know about Lupe Lair. The Lupe
Lair is located in the beating heart of Diggory Forest. The only way to
make it to the beating heart is to camp out right above it: 78š longitude
and 37š latitude. I shall send my Flare Lupe to guide you. He will help
you from there. The King Lupe, Comet-Lupe309
"Creepy," said Cherney. I'd better go tell Calvin. On the way to Calvin's
place she saw a huge machine in mid-air. "Huh?" she said "What's that?"
When she got to Calvin's, she was panting like heck.
"Calvin come here now," she screamed in a high voice.
Five minutes later, Calvin and Cyclo came down (by that time the ship
was tiny). "Check it out! The ship!" They both stared like they were hypnotized
for a few seconds.
Calvin shook it off and the Cherney did, then Calvin spoke, "That belongs
to Lupes; the ship there is for a Flare Lupe. He is a fierce Lupe warrior.
The current Flare Lupe is Cerintosinco (kir-in-toe-sinko) who prefers
Cerin (ker-in)."
"Yes," Cherney muttered under her breath, "They're here." Calvin turned
and said, "Huh?"
To be continued...
