Journal of a Crossover

Okay, if you didn't read "Days in Neopia" in issue 29 by Muas, I suggest you read it now. BEFORE you read this story.

Let's begin shall we? It all happened when I read "Days in Neopia" by Muas. It sounded SO real, but I knew it couldn't right? Boy was I wrong!

That night I wished it could be true, I thought about it for hours hoping to at least have a dream about it. I didn't. I had a nightmare about the Math test tomorrow(Nov. 8) and to make matters worse, I became surrounded by darkness and woke up in the dark. The thing is, I always have my lamp on to keep me warm because my heater didn't work. My lamp normally lasts more than a month and I changed it a few days ago. Then it struck me.

"Crookshanks? Buckbeak? Fawkes?" I called into the darkness.

"It's me Crookshanks! You've crossed-over!Buckbeak, Fawkes and Innocentbunny are staying at the hotel, They come out Friday next week."

"Crookshanks? can you open the blinds?" I asked.

"Sure thing!" She said and I heard her pounce around to where the window was.

With a soft shutter, the room was filled with light and warmth. And there was Crookshanks, sitting and grinning with her yellow eyes twinkling. It was just like Muas describe. Her expressions were almost human. "You're here! You're actually here!" And with a thud, I was pinned to the bedroom floor.

"Woah! Don't get too excited!" I said. I was breathing fast because she had knocked the wind out of me."Let me get dressed first!"

I went to my closet and took out some Flares, which had come with me because I didn't buy any, A Wocky T-shirt and my Jetsam Jacket. It looked kinda cool out today. "Wow. This is comfy! Let's go buy some food, Crookshanks."

"Yeah!" And we were off! I remembered where Muas said she lived when she wrote about her adventures and headed off in that direction. Sure enough, there she was, sitting in the garden with her tools. Not as flaky as everyone else. "Hey! Muas! I just crossed-over!"

"Cool! Wait! I know you! Harry_Potter_Fan234! we were talking earlier!" she said without a doubt.

"Yeah it's me! how did you know?" Our Kougras looked puzzled at each other for a while than started chatting themselves.

"If you've crossed you can see a picture of the person who's Neomailing you!" she said as me and Crookshanks walked over.

"Cool! Where do you get your Neomail? In the mail box?"

"No, you get them by your pet. You see, the collar they wear has a secret. You hear three beeps then a small matchbox sized pocket with a card in it appears. Then you take the game-boy thing out of your pocket, that's your Neo-messaging system, you put the card in that and the Neomessage comes up and it has the picture of the person. Then a voice reads the message to you."

"Cool! We were just going to get some food, wanna come along? My treat."

"Yeah, okay. It's no trouble is it?"

"No, I have 766 NP with me. It weighs a ton!"

We all went off together and bought some ice cream and milkshakes. Than went to the bookstore, grooming parlour, defence and attack stores, and last but best of all, PetPets! I couldn't afford anything there but I didn't need anything, All my pets had PetPets and I had 2 extra.

"You know Muas, I have a Puppyblew Klaue can have."

"Nah, he has a Fungree already, but maybe later on though."

We went to the Neolodge to get my pets out early and we still had 3 of our 5 hours left.

"Let's go down that path there, looks pretty peaceful. Don't you think Crookshanks?" I said looking at something that looked like sparkles going down a path.

"Yeah! I heard that path only appears to lucky crossovers!" said Crookshanks with a dazed look on her face.

"C'mon! Let's go!" said Klaue and we headed straight for the path. A moment later, that sparkling stuff was back again and it was red.

"Fire Faerie! straight ahead!" whispered Crookshanks. I looked at Muas who looked as puzzled as me.

"That's a Fire Faerie? I thought they looked like little people with wings." Crookshanks nodded, "We have to wait for them to get close enough. Since were on this path, I think they'll trust us."

"Wait, here comes the Faerie!" said Klaue.

As it drew nearer, I saw it kind of transform. It went from a blur of sparkling red, to a small girl, it came close to our group and spoke. It sounded like a distant echo. "Are you Muas and Harry_Potter_Fan234?" she asked us. That's when I noticed that Crookshanks looked kind of dazzled. Her face looked more human-looking than ever. She seemed to be in a trance, from the Fire Faerie's beautiful appearance. I saw why--the flames surrounding the faerie made her look like a meteor. A radiant ball of fire, giving off power and heat.

"I have sent a distress signal to you, the NeoPets' staff will only capture us to bless their pets. We have noticed you young people have crossed-over. Now that we know you can see the path, we know for sure you have pure hearts. Your most loyal, brave, and kindest pets will be granted all the abilities. I now raise Crookshanks_2000 and Klaue's to level 45 and send you to the Faerie Queen's Palace." We were whirling through clouds of colour. I wasn't getting sick, but there was a strange lightheaded feeling to me. With a few thuds and a couple of "oofs" we were on the ground in a beautiful throne room with a small doll-sized chair with the Faerie Queen sitting down.

"Klaue, Crookshanks and owners I presume?" her voice was a far off echo, but with a lasting tone.

"Yes, we are. A Fire Faerie sent us," said Klaue, sounding uneasy but more like a teenager than his old voice.

"She raised us to level 45," said Crookshanks.

"Yes, on with the abilities. I hereby grant Klaue and Crookshanks_2000 all abilities. You will use these only for the good of Neopia and the NeoPets within it. I also hereby grant Muas and Harry_Potter_Fan234 10,000 NP special abilities to themselves for finding trapped faeries, food, NP, and more. None of this information or items or NP, etc., except for the owners abilities, will appear in the real world. I also now raise the time limit for the two owners to seven Neopian hours equaling two real minutes, and can be anywhere when leaving or entering Neopia. I will request you both to see me again someday, but for now, good-bye."

There was another few seconds of swirling colour and then, all of the sudden, we were in the Neopian public park. We sat there, discussing what just happened when we both suddenly said we sensed something large in the bushes across the path. There were 2000 NP even, two bikes, two Battle Faeries, fifty-six different kinds of toys, and sixteen grooming supplies.

"Wow Mom! It works! Can I try some Neo-perfume?" said Crookshanks happily. "These things have been discarded by someone. I'll share them out and then we can have some of those Ice creams and donuts!"

We did all that and we were just about to go to the PetPet shop but Muas had to leave. I decided to leave then, too. It was actually starting to get dark, so I walked Muas and Klaue home then walked back to my house. I walked in to be nailed to the floor in a THREE pet body-slam. They were so happy to see me and they were very hungry. I fed them all and left. When I made it home, the real world, I noticed something extremely strange. I still had everything in my pockets. And my NP, shop key, Neo-messaging system, everything. And now on my Neofriends list. I decided to figure it all out in the morning.

Keep looking! I plan to write another short story soon for the readers of Neopia! It'll probably be kinda like this one. It depends what happens with me and my pets tomorrow!
