NeoPet Pets
by tomatosoup
It had been one week since
Exlund the white Lupe had gotten his Cobrall named Korbie. He and the
Cobrall were best friends until....
Poor Exlund was frantic looking
for his beloved Cobrall, lost for three days. He searched everywhere but
Korbie was nowhere in sight. His sharp ears heard something rustle in
the bushes, he whirled around to see Korbie. He laughed and raced toward
his pet. Suddenly, as soon as Exlund got close to Korbie, it hissed at
him. The Lupe thought nothing of it and figured Korbie was playing. He
continued forward but Korbie did the most shocking thing the Lupe could
think of: He bit him. Exlund yelped softly and felt a sharp pain in his
neck. Everything went black.
Exlund woke up in a bed surrounded
by doctors and his owner looking down at him. He cocked his head and weakly
asked where he was. The doctor Gelert smiled and told him the whole story.
"You see, your pet was lost
for a few days and during those days he must have been bitten buy a mutated
Kacheek...the ones Dr. Sloth created. You see, the monster Kacheek has
a strange poison in him that whatever it bites acts wild and angry forever."
Exlund sighed sadly as the doctor continued, "there is a cure...but it
costs 30,000 Neopoints. The Lupe knew what he had to do.
He walked towards his joyful
owner as she hugged him tightly, she tried to comfort him but it didn't
work. Exlund just told the nurse Usul to take Korbie and that his owner
and him couldn't afford a cure. The depressed Lupe began to exit when
a loud wail was heard behind him. He peered around a corner and saw a
red Uni sniffling angrily.
"I told you I wanted an Angelpuss
not that hideous thing!!!" she yelled.
"But he is really friendly
and...."
The snotty Uni cut her off
"Hmph, take it back I don't ever want to see that nasty thing ever again,"
snarled the little Uni.
Exlund growled and could not
believe her ungratefulness. He watched as the tired owner sighed and set
a tiny Warf on the ground and gently nudged it away. The little Warf waddled
and scurried, hurrying to get away from the noisy Uni.
It
stopped when it saw Exlund, it perked its floppy ears. Exlund grinned
as the small Warf ran over to him. It yelped with excitement as Exlund
hugged it tightly, slowly creeping out of sight from the Uni and her owner.
The Warf showered the Lupe with slobbery kisses and Exlund laughed softly.
He noticed a red satin collar
around its neck and a gold oval medallion attached that read "Woofers."
He grinned and raced Woofers home. His owner was more then happy to let
Exlund keep the unwanted Warf. Soon they became best friends and played
chase, wrestle, hide and seek and fetch. They always had fun together.
Later as Exlund curled up to sleep with little Woofers curled snugly warm
next to him, he was glad he had found this new little friend.
