At the Training School

Note to readers: I used the Flotsam as the bad guy in this story. I do not mean it! Please forgive me if you own a Flotsam!

"Oh no! I forgot my hypno helmet," yelled Lily, a level three Kacheek.

"Wow, you have a lot of stuff for just two days at the training school!" said Lily's sister, a level one Poogle named Annie.

"Well, I want to be ready for everything! I hope I have enough stuff! Now let me just mount this onto my back and...WOW THIS IS HEAVY!"

"What do you expect? You have all of my toys, all of your magical items, and all of Lucky's space stuff!"

"Oh well," said Lily as she began to unpack, "thank goodness I am studying strength!"

"Bye!" screamed Lucky, the green Usul! "I can't believe she's going to the great training school, it seems like yesterday we were fighting over a Neonip!"

"Well, Lucky, once you gain a level you get to go to. It's a tradition that once a NeoPet is on level three, they must go to the Training School," the owner said to her small pets. "Now hurry inside and I'll fix a snack of red apples, cocoa juppies, and kraku berries!"

"Okay," said Annie. Still she couldn't believe her sister was gone.

"WELCOME STUDENTS, WELCOME TO THE GREAT TRAINING SCHOOL," cried a small coconut guard. Lily swallowed and looked around at hundreds of NeoPets. There were Usuls, Kaus, Myncis, Unis, Cybunnys, and other species. "All students studying level, please part to the left. All students studying strength, part to the right...," the coconut guard screeched. Whatever the guard said after that Lily didn't hear. She followed a bunch of scared Kacheeks to the spot that they were told to go to. It seemed most Kacheeks and Unis were taking this course. I guess we aren't as strong as Poogles, but our minds our better! Then a scared looking Uni approached Lily cautiously, "Do you want to be my partner," she asked. She was very pretty; her mane was a light blue and her eyes looked like diamonds. "Ya, I guess," Lily replied, she hadn't known that they needed partners.

"NOW THAT YOU ALL HAVE PARTNERS, I WILL ASSIGN YOU TO CABINS. IN THERE YOU WILL SEE YOUR SCHEDULES!" The small coconut guard cleared his throat and began again, "MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR CABINS CLEAN, FOR THE GREAT PANGO PANGO HIMSELF IS TO GIVE A RARE PRIZE TO THE CLEANEST CABIN!"

All the pets waited in a line, standing side by side next to their partners. Some older students looked very confident, and everyone knew that they had been to the school before, but everyone else was shaking and hoping that they didn't have any classes with a Felicia Flotsam. Everyone had heard of Felicia Flotsam, she was supposed to be the meanest teacher ever!

"Okay let's see, Lily and Beauty are in cabin 231 with Ploop and Libby," said a coconut guard with dark red lipstick on.

"Wow this is such a nice cabin!" yelled Beauty.

"Yeah, it's swell!" said Lily. Just then, a blue Peophin followed by a yellow Poogle came in the cabin.

"Wow, I love it here!" said the Peophin.

"Yeah it's pretty phat," the yellow Poogle seemed pretty confident.

"Why hello, little pets! I am Libby the Peophin, and this is Ploop the Poogle. And who might you be?" she asked politely.

"I am Beauty the blue Uni, and this is Lily the blue Kacheek, and we are not little!"

"Yeah whatever," said the Poogle. "Do either of you have Felicia?" she said pointing to Lily and Beauty. For the first time, Lily looked at her schedule and breathed a sigh of relief as she saw Katy Koi was her instructor. "Nope, neither of us have her!"

"Well, that's good," the Poogle replied.

For rest of the day Lily did her studies and when she wasn't studying, she was cleaning the cabin. Finally the day came to leave.

"STUDENTS, THE TWO DAYS YOU HAVE BEEN WITH US HAS BEEN WONDERFUL! I CANNOT WAIT TO TEACH YOUR SISTERS AND BROTHERS...THEY SHOULD BE ANOTHER CHEERFUL BUNCH! AND NOW THE TIME YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR...THE WINNER OF THE CLEANEST CABIN IS...CABIN 231! WHO EVER BELONGS TO THAT CABIN, PLEASE STAY AFTER AND WAIT TO CLAIM YOUR PRIZE!"

The wait after the speech seemed endless. The speech was basically a complete overview of what we had learned. Finally the speech ended. All the NeoPets had gone away and now the stadium seemed empty. The four of them looked at each other as the Great Pango Pango approached. He smiled gently and patted each of us on the head.

"Great students, your minds are so young and pure. I should praise you, for you are the future. Please take these gifts. Ploop, you shall have a NeoPet pet, enjoy. Libby, take this bubble gun to Maraqua and enjoy it. Beauty, take this Spironut and eat it when you are feeling down, for you shall always have a beautiful smile all the time. And finally, Lily, take this faerie. When you reach level five, bless yourself and you will become great! Now, leave my children."

"Lily, you're back!" cried Lucky.

"Awww, honey come inside and tell me about your trip. Do you need help carrying that bag?" cooed her owner.

"Okay, but it's going to take a long time, and no thanks I can handle the bag!"
