Doomsday Rider VIII: Part Three

by yugo149

Untitled Document Previously, on Doomsday Rider VIII, Sabre and Ieru fought while Rider, Shadow, Boomdogg, Anubis, Kentan and Lot to the past to battle a demon named Jendrak, who has appeared in the present time with one goal in mind: perfection. The mysterious jewels are far more powerful now than five hundred years ago, and if Jendrak obtains the other four, it may mean the fall of Neopia.

Ieru rushed forward and began to hammer away at Jendrak with punches and kicks, moving as fast as possible for Ieru. Jendrak reached behind Ieru's body, grabbed his tail, and slammed him to the floor. Ieru stood up almost instantly, panting. Jendrak sneered.

     "What, is that all the best you can do, Ieru?" Jendrak asked mockingly. "You are a disgrace to demons everywhere, you know that?"

     "Shut up!" Ieru shouted, waving his arm furiously. "You're the one that came back to life to absorb the six Elemental Gems, just so you could have revenge on those who gave you what you deserved!"

     "Touchè," Jendrak responded. "Though I am far more powerful now than you could ever dream of becoming!" he shouted, picking Ieru up by the throat and tossing him as far as he could. Ieru sailed through the air for miles at an incredible speed. He broke through the wall of the power plant for Neopia Central and landed with a clang and the hard metal floor. Ieru looked up as Jendrak came in through the hole in the wall, and landed gently on the floor.

     "You are a pity, Ieru," Jendrak said, kicking Ieru in the face. Ieru slid across the floor and stopped right in front of a large, metallic pillar, which was generating electricity and sending it to the remaining portions of the city. Jendrak hoisted Ieru up, and hurled him into the pillar. Ieru's eyes went blank as electricity surged through his body and shot across the room, causing brilliant explosions all around. Ieru's body shook violently as the electricity continued to surge through him, until one explosion of sparks from the pillar dropped Ieru. He slowly slid down the pillar, fell to his knees when he touched the ground, and fell forward, landing on his face, his body limp and motionless.

     "And now that he is out of my hair for all eternity..." Jendrak began, turning to look out through the hole in the wall. "Nothing stands between me and destroying this wretched planet," Jendrak said, cackling and darting out through the hole.

"I wonder what was out here?" Zing-Lau asked as we landed where the flash of light had come from.

     "I don't know, but whatever it was, it left while we were on our way out here." I said, shrugging.

     "I'll bet it was that Jendrak character," Shadow said.

     "Shadow, we both know that we destroyed him, there's no way it could be him!" I said.

     Zing-Lau donned a very worried look. "Oh, no. This is not good. Jendrak... yes, it is him. I'd recognise this style of destruction anywhere."

     "What do you mean, 'style of destruction'? Have you and Jendrak met before?" I asked.

     "Yes, many years ago, when I was about your owner's age, Doomsday_Rider. Jendrak is a fearsome beast. We must not allow him to perfect himself. If he becomes perfect, then this planet will be doomed and there will be absolutely nothing we can do about it." Zing-Lau explained. "He has already gotten two of the six Elemental Gems. If we can manage to keep at least one away from him, then we will still stand a chance. Not much of one, but a chance nonetheless, and when the stakes are like this, we will need every window of opportunity that we can find."

     Elsewhere...

     Jendrak landed only a few yard away from a brilliantly glowing purple jewel. Jendrak stepped nearer, and picked it up. "Aah, yes. The Dark Gem. I believe this will make a nice addition to my collection of Elemental Gems." Jendrak said, hurling the jewel into the air. It entered his body and a small, golden plate of armor appeared on his left knee. The jewel appeared in the core of the armor plate, and Jendrak's strength increased. "Oh, ho. Stage 3, yes, wonderful indeed. Only three more before I am perfected and am invincible," Jendrak said, taking off to search for the next jewel.

* * *

"Is this an Elemental Gem, by any chance?" Shadow asked, holding up a fist-sized yellow jewel. Zing-Lau looked at it.

     "Yes, that is the Light Gem. If we can keep this one away from Jendrak, we might just win. The more of these we can get hold of, the better our chances of defeating Jendrak." Zing-Lau, said, grinning. Suddenly, Shadow's eyes darted back and forth.

     "What was that?" Shadow asked.

     "What was what?" I asked in response.

     "There was... a movement... I think. There's nothing now, it must've been my imagination." Shadow said, turning around. A figure leapt from the shadows and hit Majin Shadow on the back of the head, nearly knocking him out, and causing him to drop the Light Gem. The figure picked it up, and threw it into the air. The jewel went into the figure's body, and a gold plate appeared on its right knee. The Light Gem appeared on the plate, and the figure's strength increased once again. It was Jendrak, who had now ascended to a more powerful form.

     "Aah, yes. My fourth stage. I'm not at full power yet, but I'd wager I can defeat the three of you," Jendrak Stage 4 taunted. "Whoever wants the first shot can have it." He said, letting down his guard. Shadow stood, went into his hyper form stage 2, rushed forward, and began to fight Jendrak. Jendrak swung a punch at Shadow, who leapt back long enough to avoid the attack, then went back to attacking. He uppercut Jendrak in the chin, catching him off guard. Jendrak stumbled back and formed a golden ball of light in his hand. He pointed his open palm at Shadow.

     "Dark Kanena," he said calmly, and firing the attack. Shadow fired his own Dark Kanena and the two attacks collided. Jendrak stopped his, and swatted Shadow's away when it got close. The two went into a swift battle, their attacks blurring together. One punch from both ends sent the two reeling back, and they stood, flying, staring each other coldly in the eye. Majin Shadow smirked.

     "I've still got a trump card up my sleeve," Shadow said, beginning to enter his hyper form stage 3. It was more or less the same as mine, except he had six antennae instead of just two, he was black and he still kept the red markings along his cheeks.

     "What the?" Jendrak asked, surprised by Shadow's transformation.

     "Hyper form stage 3," Shadow answered, his antennae waving behind his head. "Now let's finish this," Jendrak sneered.

     "Yes, let's."

     Shadow raised one massive arm, and hurled a Dark Kanena at Jendrak, who swatted it away and rushed forward. He threw a punch that hit Shadow in the shoulder, forcing him back. He rushed forward again, and kicked Shadow in the throat, stunning him. Jendrak then attacked Shadow, bringing both of his fists down onto his head, knocking him out of his third hyper form. He landed nimbly and sneered. Shadow stood, up, reduced to his normal form, and went back up to his hyper form stage 2.

     "You'll have to do better than that if you want to defeat me," Shadow said.

     "As much as I'd love to stay and finish this fight, I really must be going." Jendrak said, lifting into the air and flying off.

     "Arrgh! Get back here!" Shadow shouted, chasing Jendrak for a few feet. "That coward."

     "Shadow! Jendrak could have destroyed you easily during that fight! Be grateful that he didn't!" Zing-Lau shouted.

* * *

During his trip, Jendrak had absorbed one more Elemental Gem, which showed up embedded in his forehead. He quickly approached the sixth and final one. He landed gracefully beside it, and picked it up.

     "Such a small object, and yet, such massive energy," Jendrak said, hurling the gem into the air. It entered his body, glowing brilliantly. A golden plate appeared on his chest, and the last Elemental Gem surfaced in the hole in the plate. Jendrak was now becoming perfect. The ground rattled and split apart as the surrounding trees exploded into shreds of wood. Slowly, golden plates of armor emerged from Jendrak's skin and took shape, conforming to the shape of his body, causing it to appear as though it were all armor-plated. Jendrak, having slumped over during his final transformation, stood totally straight.

     "And it's finally complete," Perfect Jendrak said, clenching his fist tightly. "Soon, Neopia will fall, a new empire will rise, and I will rule it all!" He said to himself, ready to cause the most destruction ever seen. "I believe that the best place to start this campaign of annihilation would be in the heart of the planet: Neopia Central." He said, taking off toward the city. Behind him streaked a trail of golden afterimages.

* * *

Where Ieru's body lay motionless and lifeless, his body slowly became a thick, black liquid. It formed into a puddle, and then solidified back into Ieru's body. His eyes snapped open, and he stood up, his life restored. He stepped outside, and noticed Perfect Jendrak at the top of a building. He flew up and landed near Jendrak, ready to battle him if need be.

     "Well, well, Ieru. I thought I had destroyed you," Perfect Jendrak said without turning around.

     "You did," Ieru answered. "But if you remember, Jendrak, when my life is ended, my body will regenerate all of my energy and bring me back to life."

     "Oh, shoot, that's right... Figures. I think I have you down for the count, and here you come back for more. Can't you just learn your lesson the first time?" Jendrak questioned.

     "Oh, shut up and let's do this!" Ieru shouted.

     "Very well, if you wish to die so quickly," Perfect Jendrak said, finally turning around. "It's time to put this to rest," he said calmly as attacks of fire, earth, water, air, light, and darkness rained from the sky. Ieru shielded his face as the attacks rained down, seemingly to no end.

     "This is insane," Ieru said to himself, as a fireball collided with his forearm, causing him to wince. "I've got to end this, no questions asked." Ieru rushed forward, towards Jendrak, moving as quickly as he could, and slammed into Perfect Jendrak headfirst. Perfect Jendrak stumbled back, and his body burst apart, becoming black and gold mist. The attacks stopped falling, and the mist began to swirl, and reform into Perfect Jendrak. Jendrak cackled before speaking.

     "You fool, I am perfect. You cannot defeat me, not a lowly demon such as yourself. My strength is much higher than yours!" Jendrak said, sneering. Perfect Jendrak waved his hand once, and the attacks again began to rain from the sky.

     "Oh, just wonderful..." Ieru said, shielding himself from the attacks once again. Ieru rushed forward, ready to pierce through Perfect Jendrak again. A mere instant before Ieru's attack would connect, Perfect Jendrak threw up a guard, sending Ieru reeling backwards. Jendrak lowered his powerful arms and began to glow white.

     "This entire city is going to go up in smoke!" Perfect Jendrak shouted as a massive white ball of light emitted from his chest, which engulfed the entire city, crumbling it as it went.

* * *

"What was that?!" Boomdogg shouted, seeing the enormous ball of light on the horizon. Our two groups had rejoined mere minutes before the attack went off.

     "I don't know, but I bet it was that Jendrak psycho again," Majin Shadow said, stepping out in front. "It figures. But, I've got a secret weapon to combat him." Shadow said, smirking.

     "What?! You idiot! Why didn't you use your 'secret weapon' earlier?!" I shouted.

     "Because, if I had, it would've taken too long, and I would've lost." Shadow said.

     "You lost anyway!"

     "What's your point?"

To be continued...

Next time, on Doomsday Rider VIII, Majin Shadow's secret weapon is revealed, the battle between Perfect Jendrak and Ieru takes a turn for the worst, and something terrible may happen, just as Zing-Lau said.

Nothing lasts forever, not even Neopia.…
