CHAT - New to chatting? Want to learn how to chat with style? Well, just your
luck, because in this article, I shall be helping you to chat (with style!).
Being a frequent chatter for 10 months (mostly chatting in the Help Chat), I
hope that with my experience, I can help you! This article shall be covering
some main things about chatting with style, such as: fonts, colors, tags, and
much more! Enjoy!
Creating a Message Board:
Board Name: The most important part of creating a message board is
having a good board name! Without a good board name, no one will bother to look
at your message board and what you have to say! So... what exactly makes a good
board name? A catchy board name that people can relate to is the best type of
title to have on a message board. Try to make a board name that makes sense,
and something that people in that chat will probably know about! For example,
talking about Stocks in the NeoQuest chat room will not get people to respond
to your message board. Most likely, the people in the NeoQuest chat room will
not know much about Stocks and are better related to something that has to do
with NeoQuest! So, when making board names, make sure that they make sense,
that they are catchy, and that it is of a topic that people can relate to!
Tags: Tags... what are they? The term, tags, when referred to in the
chat rooms are the symbols/icons that you normally use around your board names!
Tags are very important; they are what also attract people to see your boards!
Adding colorful tags can make your boards more appealing, and easier to see!
And depending on the tags you use can also identify who you are in a certain
chat. (For example, the tags I use in the Help Chat and other chats, I have
used for about 10 months now. So when people who know me see my tags, they know
right away that it is ME!) Tags also make boards a lot more fun, and are a great
part in chatting! Try coming up with original tags of your own, and have fun!
Be creative!
Font Effects: When creating a message board, make sure to bold your
titles! Bolding your board name makes it easier to see in the chat rooms! People
are more likely to click a bolded board name, than one that is just plain!
Letter Type: When making boards, make sure to include at least some
capital letters! Boards with capital letters will show up better in chat rooms
because the letters are bigger! You can either make the whole board name in
capital letters, or just make the first letter of your board name in capitals!
Either way works fine, and can improve your chances of having people seeing
your board!
Adding a Message:
Message Topic: First of all when you post a message, make sure that
the message topic is appropriate! Don't post anything that is a personal attack
against someone else, any religious remarks, or anything else inappropriate!
(I suggest that you look at the chat rules for more info!) And post a message
topic that relates to the board that you are posting on and which makes sense!
Proper Grammar and Spelling: When posting messages, try to use as much
proper grammar and spelling as possible! The better spelling and grammar you
use, the more likely people are to understand what you post!
Font Size: Make sure that you have a good-sized font that is reasonable!
If you make your font too small, no one will be able to see what you post! But,
do not make your font too big either, or else your text will look VERY bad when
you post!
Font Color: Having font color is one of the coolest things when chatting!
There are hundreds of different colors you can choose from to make your text
look good! Having colored font makes your text more appealing to see, and makes
it more visible to see! When choosing font colors, don't choose REALLY bright
colors like yellow or white! Bright colors will hardly show up in the chat rooms,
and will make your text VERY hard for people to read!
Font Type: When you type messages, make sure to use an attractive font!
Don't use those plain Times New Roman fonts; be creative! There are hundreds
of fonts you can use which look a lot better, the more creative and original
the font is, the better! Having a fancy font will attract people to see your
posts a LOT more, than just using some plain font!
Siggies: Siggies... what are they? Siggies are basically signatures
at the end or front of your posts! Every time you post a message, your siggy
(signature) will be always there! Siggies can display how you feel, something
about you, or anything else you can think of! When you create your siggy, make
sure to be original! Make sure that your siggy has something to do with you,
and be creative! Having a siggy is one of most flexible things that you can
do that actually helps you express yourself! Try it out!
NeoHTML Codes: Having problems with neoHTML codes? Need some help? Below,
is an example of a basic siggy code! More will be explained underneath! (Hope
it helps!)
Basic neoHTML Siggy Code: [font c=Your Font Color HERE! s=Your Font Size HERE!
f=Your Font Type HERE!]neoHTML[/font] [sup]Your Siggy HERE!![/sup]
For the parts of the code that say: "Your ? HERE!", replace them with the
appropriate information!
Substitutions: Your Font Color HERE! = ?????? (Fill in this space with your
color code, using numbers and letters in the code! Check the Font Colours section
for more details on font colors!) Your Font Size HERE! = # (Fill in this space
with your appropriate font size number!) Your Font Type HERE! = ? (Fill in this
space with a name of a font! Examples are: Verdana, Arial, Redensek, etc.) Your
Siggy HERE!! = ? (Fill in this space with your siggy! Be creative and note that
you have a limited amount of space, so use it wisely!)
I hope that these codes and tips help you to chat with style in your chat
rooms! If you have any questions that I haven't already answered here, feel
free to Neomail me politely any questions or comments you may have (as long
as they are appropriate!). Remember to have fun! Now, get out there and start
chatting!
