Surviving as a Young Neopian by jinjolover | |
Untitled Document
NEOPIA CENTRAL - I am an average 6th grader Neopian. I, myself, find it pretty
hard to be good at anything on Neopets. Many people believe young Neopians aren't
capable of much. I wrote this article to prove them wrong.
I have tried many times to accomplish something; a high score, Spotlight competitions,
Art Gallery, Neopian Times, anything. I'd say I have entered at least 10 Neopian
Times stories, articles, or comics, 3 spotlight competition entries, 20 captions
for the Caption Competition and have tried 3 games I'm good at for the high
score table. Have I won any? NONE. ZIP. NADA. BIG FAT 0! Chances are, if this
has made it into The Neopian Times, I'll go bonkers. I've tried raising tons
of money and getting good Battledome stats and Paint Brushes and guess what
~ the day of succeeding is yet to come. But even this article shows that me,
a very stubborn preteen, hasn't given up yet.
1. Expressing yourself
Chances are, if your reading this article, you entered 8 or under or 9 to
12 age group when you made your account. This means if you haven't puppy-eyed
your parents to send in the consent form, you can't give yourself a description
on your search lookup. Some people like me just want show what you're like to
the whole world. Expressing everything cool about you what you like. Try entering
something like The Neopian Times or joining a guild. Don't over do it though.
I would know. I'm an extremely strange boy that drives everybody completely
nuts because all I talk about dogs. Everything about me is dogs. "500+500 equals
what, Clayton?" "How many dogs I'll have when I grow up." I think you get the
point. May I add that expressing things a bit more personal about your life
can be dangerous. Never give out your city or DEFINITELY not your address to
strangers or Neofriends you haven't met in real life if they know your full
name. And you know the rest, don't give out your password and blah-blah-blah.
2. High Scores
This is a bit harder then you might think. I've tried and tried but I just
don't really have a talent for games. Now this doesn't mean that all of the
places on the high score table are taken up by some students in university learning
to be video game testers. If you think you've got the ability, go and give it
all you got!
3. Art Gallery
I know TONS of people near my age that are great at drawing. I'm okay, but
not that good. If you have practised a lot and compared them to the other pieces
of artwork in the gallery, keep sending them in. Sooner or later, Neopets is
going to look at yours and put it in.
4. Showing off
Okay, showing off is technically a bad thing, but on Neopets, showing off is
practically the main idea. Paint brushes, Battledome stats, petpets, etc. I
have a level 25 Electric Wocky and I'm quite proud of it. Strong, colourful
Neopets with super rare petpets from Meridell or something like that cries out,
"I'm rich and I'm one of the great masters of Neopia." You might notice that
all the good paint brushes 100,000 NP or over on the shop wizard, or in other
words, NOT FOR SALE. In case you don't know, things 100,000 NP or more in shops
can't be sold. Frustrating, eh? Well that doesn't mean it's impossible to get.
Go to the Auction Genie. Items are sold at any price in auctions. Of coarse
you might notice these two problems: 1. The items are sold for double the NP
you had saved up for. 2. Somebody always tricks me and bids at the last second
the auction is open. These are what you should do: 1. I guess you thought you
were getting from the shop wizard. Well, I don't really know why I put that
question up because I DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER. I guess you'll have to deal with
it waiting usually doesn't make rare items cheap. 2. I guess this could be a
dumb idea a bit, but what I do is bid on the most expensive one there I can
afford and so the chances are that that nobody will even bother looking on the
expensive ones. For getting your pets stats up, I recommend saving up and trying
to get one of your pets (you only need one to show off your Battledome stats)
all of the pieces of secret laboratory maps. In case you didn't know, the secret
laboratory makes you pet robot, and every day you go there will usually increase
(sometimes decrease) there stats and change their gender, species and colour.
Petpets- not too many people look at the bottom of the page, but this is a plus.
You don't have to feed your petpet or take any responsibility on it. You just
buy it and name it.
5. Neopian Times
You're a kid! Inspire or be inspired! Write stories on your pets connected
to your every life to show what you think to other kid writers! (Okay, to all
of you preteens who are reading this, I'm not calling you a kid because I am
one and I would know that by now you would realize being called a kid gets really
annoying) You could also read up on other stories and get an idea from it. I'm
sure you have a bunch of funny jokes popping up in your head that you would
love to share with Neopia in the comic's section. Or maybe you're thinking of
a quest on a warrior Gelert on some sort of mystical quest! If this gets in
The Neopian Times, I'm sure any of you can come up with something good!
Well, see-ya until my next article!
PS: I would like to that lawlam__2001 for encouraging me to keep on entering
in The Neopian Times. Neomail me at cheshire_cat_club!
