Doomsday Rider VII: Military Intelligence - Part Four

by yugo149

Previously on Doomsday Rider VII, Rider, his friends, and a few other NeoPets have launched an attack on M-I's fortress. At this very moment, the few that made it to the second floor are battling a warrior that can reflect each and every attack.

I ducked just as the Kanena shot over my head, hit the wall, and shot back at Steel Sentinel. He stepped to the side, and the blast shot by his ribs, and hit the wall. We all stared at the crater in the wall in disbelief and Steel Sentinel calmly lowered his hand, as if nothing had happened. Shadow went into his hyper form and fired a Dark Kanena at Steel Sentinel, hoping the attack would break through his defences.

"Keep him busy!" Majin Shadow shouted, beginning to gather the energy for another Dark Kanena.

     "Why?" I asked, confused.

"Just do it! He can't reflect what is more powerful than himself!"

"He's got a point you know," Belgora said. I began to charge up a Kanena, but Steel Sentinel grabbed me by the throat, lifted me up, and hurled me through the steel security door, which repaired itself in an instant.

"Oh, yeah," I said, rubbing where my head had collided with the metal. "Those doors are just as hard as I thought." I looked at my hand because I felt a warm, thick liquid on the back of my head. Sure enough, there was a small trace of blood on my palm.

I stood up and looked around. I was in a glass tunnel that had lights behind the walls, ceiling, and floor. "Where's this?" I asked to no one in particular. An intercom switched on and M-I began to speak.

"Welcome to the third floor of my fortress, Doomsday_Rider," M-I said. "Wait there a few moments. The guardian should be there to challenge you within one minute." I sat down and waited for the guardian to come, wondering who it could possibly be. Soon I heard the sound of a Buzz flying. I looked around, and Kromanè landed a few yards from me.

"I suggest you get used to the lay of the land on this floor," Kromanè said. "It's a labyrinth of tunnels that you can only get through by defeating me."

"Uhm...it sounds a bit confusing, but I'm sure I'll live," I said, going back into hyper form stage 2.

"Very well," Kromanè said, turning around and walking down the hall, slowly quickening his pace. I chased after him and the battle had begun. When I had caught up, Kromanè leaped into the air and began to fly as fast as I could run. The floor of the hall began to slope downward, and I fired a Kanena at Kromanè. It missed and hit the glass wall, breaking through and blasting apart a few lights. I grabbed Kromanè's tail and threw him into the wall. He shot ahead of me and headed straight for a security door. Before he hit it, he blasted a hole in it and flew through. I chased after him and the path began to go upward. At the top, there was a sharp right turn. Kromanè banked right, and I followed him, trying to get another opportunity to attack.

C'mon, get back here. I thought to myself, hoping he would slow down enough for me to attack. Kromanè dropped to the ground, skidded to a stop, and stuck his tail right in my path, tripping me and dumping me on my face. I sat up, holding my face.

"Haha!" Kromanè cackled. "If you thought that hurt, get a load of this!" Kromanè generated thousands of tiny energy bombs and began to charge them. "Hah!" he shouted, firing the energy bombs at me.

On the second floor...

"Isn't that Dark Kanena charged up yet?!" Belgora asked, struggling to stay combined. He blocked an incoming punch from Steel Sentinel, and tried to kick at the metallic warrior.

"Almost...there! Hey, you!" Shadow shouted, trying to get Steel Sentinel's attention. Steel Sentinel wheeled around and saw the golden ball of light in Shadow's hand. Shadow smirked, then hurled the Dark Kanena at Steel Sentinel, blasting a hole through his chest. Steel Sentinel fell to the ground and lay limp. Belgora broke apart, back into separate bodies. All of them had fought Steel Sentinel and were drastically weakened. Shadow was barely holding his hyper form. Shadow returned to his normal form and fell to his knees, breathing heavily.

On the third floor...

I had managed to evade several of the energy bombs, but about seven had collided with me, not by much, but it was enough to weaken me. I rushed forward, grabbed Kromanè's tail, and began to spin him around in circles. I let go of him and he went sailing down the tunnel. He crashed into the next security door and fell back, then gathered his bearings. He dizzily stood up. "I don't believe this! That actually stung!" Kromanè shouted, gripping his head. He broke down the security door and I followed him. The tunnel began to slope upward again. I yanked out my Million Degree Sword and lashed out at Kromanè with it, but he dodged, and stuck his foot out, which caught me in the stomach. I stumbled forward, clutching my gut in pain.

If Kromanè is this strong, I doubt I'll be able to defeat M-I I thought to myself, which was true. Kromanè leaned back slightly, crossed his arms arrogantly, and smirked. He whipped his head back and began to cackle. I recovered from the attack, rushed forward, and slammed the handle of my Million Degree Sword into Kromanè's chest, and then, following that movement, I uppercut Kromanè, sending him toward the ceiling. Then, as he was falling to the floor, I slashed at Kromanè's stomach and followed through with a kick that sent Kromanè sprawling into the wall. He lay unconscious for a moment, then stood up and wiped a small trace of blood from the corner of his mouth.

"You shall pay for that," Kromanè said, snarling. He generated the energy bombs again, only this time there were twice as many as before. "Take this!" Kromanè shouted, firing the energy bombs at me. I clenched my eyes shut and braced for the collisions. Most of them shot by me and hit the walls, floor, and ceiling, and around thirty hit me.

"You call that aim?! What are you shooting at, the floor?!" I asked. I began to charge up a Kanena. Kromanè rushed me and I fired the Kanena into his face. He shot back and hit the wall and slid down. He lay motionless for a long while. I turned away from Kromanè and continued down the hall, blasting away the security doors as I went.

On the fourth floor...

"Arrgh! I can't believe this!" M-I shouted. "Aah, well. He'll be here any second now. M-I said, plopping into his hovercraft and steering it up toward the ceiling to await my arrival.

Meanwhile, I was running up a steep catwalk that led around a missile in the center of the floor. I stopped about halfway up the catwalk and stared at the rocket. "What does he plan to use that for, I wonder?" I asked myself. I snapped to attention. "No time for that now, I've got to defeat M-I fast!" I shouted, continuing up the catwalk.

I burst into M-I base chamber, and the security door slammed shut behind me.

"Aha, so you finally made it, Doomsday_Rider," M-I said, sneering.

"Oh, just shut up and let's fight," I said, putting up a guard with my Million Degree Sword.

"Very well," M-I said, shrugging. "Have it your way. Let the battle begin!" M-I shouted, firing an endless amount of Kanenas at me.

"Whoa!" I shouted, leaping backward and side to side to avoid being hit by my own attack. M-I leapt down to the floor and continued firing the Kanenas.

"Okay, so you're quick-footed," M-I said. "Big d--" M-I dropped to the floor gripping his head and screaming in agony. The scream was intensely loud, and my ears went numb. "GAAH! MAKE IT STOP!!!" M-I shouted as loud as he could. He turned his back to me and began moving toward a control panel.

"Oh no you don't!" I said, rushing forward and grasping M-I's ankle. I pulled him to the ground, rotated around a few times to get M-I up into the air, and let go. He slammed into the security door, jamming his neck back into his spine. He fell to the floor, still screaming in agony. I looked around nervously as the chamber rattled in tune to M-I's screams. He finally fell quiet and stood up. His fingernails had cut his scalp open. He stared at me with an angry and piercing expression on his face.

"Now you die," M-I said in an evil voice. M-I quickly approached me, grasped me by the throat, hurled me into the wall, and before I even touched the ground, M-I was rapidly kicking at my chest and stomach, keeping me in the air between him and the wall. He finally kicked me off to the side, breaking me away from the enormous combination attack. I lay on the floor, barely able to move.

"Get up, weakling!" M-I shouted, kicking me high into the air. M-I began to charge up a Dark Kanena. I rebounded in mid-air and hovered, gathering the last of my energy for a Kanena. Once our attacks were locked on our target and loaded, we both let them fire. The two versions of the Kanena collided right in the middle of us, and a green light filled the room. We were both trying our hardest to force the other's Kanena back at them, coupled with our Kanena, but it wasn't working. My Kanena would force back M-I's Dark Kanena, and it would push my Kanena back a little farther than where they had collided, and so forth.

"No! No! No! This cannot be happening! My Dark Kanena is far more powerful than his Kanena! How can it possibly be equal to mine?!" M-I shouted, still firing his Dark Kanena. "Maximum Heat!" M-I shouted. Small, red balls of light, about as big as my eyes, began circling around M-I, slowly moving closer. After a few moments, the red balls of light entered M-I's body and he began to glow a fiery red. His Dark Kanena began to push my Kanena back with ease. I broke away from the struggle, and M-I's Dark Kanena, along with my Kanena, blasted through the wall, shot into the distance, and exploded.

"It's time to end this," M-I said, preparing to fire another Dark Kanena. "Dark Kanena!" M-I shouted. A simple cloud of smoke emerged from his hands and floated to the ceiling.

"Aah! No! I'm out of energy! I guess I'll just have to rip you apart the old fashioned way," M-I said, readying himself for hand-to-hand combat. I rushed forward, sweep kicked M-I, and kicked him into the air. I flew up and began to throw rapid punches at him. He either blocked, evaded, or counterattacked most of them. He swung wildly in a repeating pattern at me with his foot. The two of us dropped back to the ground, trying to catch our breath. This battle had seriously worn both of us out. M-I fell to one knee, struggling to stay conscious. He looked at me, hatred flaring in his eyes.

"You little pest...I should have eradicated you when I had the chance," M-I said, the hatred in his eyes becoming more and more powerful. "But instead, I chose to toy with you. This is not the end, Doomsday_Rider. Do you hear me? This is not the end," M-I said, falling dead silent.

"He's been...defeated," I said, sighing in relief and falling to my knees. I fell back to my normal form and smiled, realising that I had won over this monster. I had defied all odds, and I now stand triumphant over this evil warrior. However, I had no idea how intense things were about to get.

M-I leapt up, rejuvenated somewhat from his "nap." His body was badly beaten and bruised. "All systems, full power!" M-I shouted, and the chamber began to rumble.

"Wh-what's going on?!" I shouted, looking around nervously.

"Ready? Fire!" M-I shouted, and the chamber rumbled even more and a loud sound could be heard through the security door. He was firing the missile! M-I began to cackle insanely. "It doesn't matter what you do now, I have won! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

"Ugh, you idiot!" I shouted, grasping M-I by the collar. "Don't you realise that if that missile goes off, the entire planet will go up in smoke, including YOU?!" M-I broke away from my grip.

"Yes, I realise that. But I have no worries," M-I said, being interrupted by a loud crash outside the fortress. The entire fortress began to rumble. "Aah, no! It was a dud! I'm going to go out there and detonate that missile myself!" M-I shouted, opening the security door and leaping down the shaft. The race to the missile had begun.

To be continued...

Who will reach the missile first, M-I, or Doomsday_Rider? And, the stage for the final battle will soon be set, and to find out what will happen and who will win, you'll just have to read next time.
