The Personality Changer: Part One

by squieshie

My sister, rayneboery was sitting on our fluffy couch, fiddling with her thumbs. She always did that when she was nervous. I, on the other hand, was whacking myself in the head, using my frying pan. I always did that when I was extremely bored. After I got tired of whacking myself in the head, I wondered what rayneboery was nervous about. I dropped my frying pan on the ground, with no care, and walked slowly over to her.

"Yo, rayne," I said, trying to act cool, like she always was.

"Honestly, Taitl, I do not act like that." She glared at me, tensely.

"Wha-? How- What?" I scratched my head, wondering how she knew that I was trying to act like her.

"I'm nervous about my tournament tomorrow," she said, staring at our new, shiny big-screened TV, without blinking even once. I held my hand out in front her her eyes, but she didn't blink, still.

"Why don't we watch some tube to get your mind off of it?" I suggested, reaching for the channel-changer that was resting on the arm of the chair rayneboery was sitting on.

"No, Taitl. I have to concentrate. You know how important this is to me, don't you?" She snatched the TV controller out of my hands, and threw it into the fireplace.

"What are you doing?!" I shouted.

"Relax! squieshie's got enough Neopoints to buy another one."

"That's the fifth one she's bought, though," I said, turning my back to her, and folding my arms across my scruffy blue Ixi chest.

"Sorry, Taitl..." rayneboery looked at me, her eyes sorrow.

I just ignored her with a mere, "Oh, my... did I hear something? Oh, it must have been the wind." I then stomped off into the hallway, mimicking her voice. "No, Taitl. You know how important this is to me. Blah, blah, blah." I came to a stop at our front door. I saw my owner, squieshie, and my older brother, Saokiey, along with my little sister, Waffle-Ducky catching faeries, then letting them go. WaffleDucky was laughing, in a freaky-ish sort of way. Maybe that's what all baby Gelerts do.

I had been jealous of Waffle-Ducky ever since she joined in the family. She took over my place. She was a spoilt brat the minute she was born. squieshie gleefully naming her Waffle-Ducky, then running to the rainbow pool, and splashing the baby paint brush on her. I despised the day she brought Waffle home as a surprise. And just when I was getting used to being the youngest. Always getting toys. Always getting more attention when I was scared. Not that I ever was scared. It was just a big change for me, I guess.

I glanced over my shoulder, at rayneboery. The poor souled pink Kacheek was fiddling with her thumbs. I gave her a dirty look, when she wasn't looking. I then bounded downstairs, and into my room. I turned on the radio right away. It was M*ynci, so I immediately turned the radio off. I hated that band, or in a more proper way, strongly disliked it.

Our house is kind of weird. There is a main hallway, and right in front of the entrance - when you first come in, there is a door in front of you. That is the door that leads to downstairs, where Saokiey's room, rayneboery's room, Waffle's room, and my room is located. There is also a big bonus room in the centre of when you enter downstairs, and our rooms are all around it. It is kind of hard to explain, but oh well.

After being my evil self, I decided to be my nice self, that I was basically all of the time. So, I grabbed a bag of Neopoints, ran upstairs, and opened the front door. squieshie, Saokiey, and Waffle were coming in. They were sweating, even though it was a cold day outside.

"Where are you goin', Taitl"? squieshie asked, wiping her medium-length brown hair out of her freckly face.

     "Oh, I'm going out."

     Saokiey gasped. "With who?"

"Not THAT kind of going out! I'm just going out for the afternoon. You know, to the shops. I'll be back by 3:00, NST." I was about to barrage out of the door, when Waffle hung on to my leg.

"Aww, Taitl... can I come wif you?" She always talked in a babyish voice, unsurprisingly. She was really naive.

"No!" I shook her off of my leg, and waved goodbye. I saw tears developing in Waffle's eyes, and as soon as I slammed the door, I jumped onto the sidewalk. The most horrible scream came from our house. I ran our of Soup Alley, where we lived, until I couldn't hear Waffle's piercing scream. I knew what I was going to do. I would be nice, because I was in a nice mood.

I headed for the Shop Wizard's tent, which was on the corner of Soup Alley. I ran inside of his tent. I was surprised that there were no visitors. Usually it was crowded like a fat pig. I sat down next to the Shop Wizard.

"What do you need, Taitl, the blue Ixi?" he said. He was meditating, and I stared at him, like he was a shrunken head.

"I need to find... a Lu Codestone, Blue Fuzzle Toy, Orange Fuzzle Toy, and a..." I paused for a second, thinking what I should get for squieshie. "And a blue Shoyru plushie, please." squieshie was nuts about blue Shoyru plushies, she had a whole collection of them, so I decided to get her another addition to her big lot. The Shop Wizard nodded, and gave me a list of all of the people who had the lowest price in their shop. I quickly ran to each and every one of them, and I soon had all of the items. I stuffed them into the NP bag, and raced home. I wanted to give all of the presents to my family, and enjoy the rest of my weekend. The next day - Monday, would be school.

When I got home, I dumped all of the items on the floor in the kitchen, and handed everybody their presents.

"Wow, thanks, Taitl!" rayneboery said, as she received her Lu Codestone. "I'm gonna go to the training school right away and use this, so I can get prepared for the Battledome Tournament tomorrow, okay, squieshie?"

"Okay," squieshie said, as she retrieved her treat from my dirty hoof. "Oh my gosh! Thanks so much my little Taitl!!! Another Shoyru Plushie!!! Hooray!" squieshie jumped up and down, with joy, and ran into the family room, and opened the door to her room. She then placed the plushie into a glass area, crammed with other blue Shoyru plushies. squieshie wasn't a very fastidious person. Her belongings were scattered everywhere about in her room, and her clothes were hanging off of things, such as her bed post, dresser, and desk. I giggled, and gave Saokiey, and Waffle their presents. Waffle smiled when she got hers, and went off downstairs in the bonus room to play with it. When I gave Saokiey his, he grinned, bit the blue fuzzle, and ate all of the stuffing inside of it. He then squished the skin around, and stuck the remaining blue Fuzzle on his mutant tail.

"Thanks, Taitl!" Saokiey went into the front yard, and started to toss the rest of the blue fuzzle into the air, and catch it.

I went downstairs into the Bonus room, and played with a blue bouncy ball of a while. An hour later, I was so bored, I decided to go to sleep early. But then I remembered something. I didn't have to go to the beginning part of school. All thanks to rayneboery and her Battledome Tournament for giving me an excuse. I slept beautifully that night, thinking about rayneboery beating everybody up in the Battledome. But I doubted she would win; she wasn't very strong right now. There were lots, and lots more pets that were a million times stronger than her. But I would still be rooting and cheering for her, all of the time. But then I thought: I wouldn't be if it were a weekend.

When I woke up the next morning, I brushed my oleaginous blue Ixi fur, and polished my dirty hooves. I was ready for the tournament. I walked outside of my room, and raced upstairs. I could smell the fresh pancakes squieshie was cooking for us from the hallway. I entered the kitchen, and sat down on a stool, that was right next to the island-type counter that squieshie was cooking the pancakes on.

"Are you ready to go to school?" squieshie asked, looking up a tad bit from the pancakes.

"What?!" I asked. "I have to go to school? Why? Why can't I go to the tournament and root, and cheer for rayneboery? Can't I be a good sister?" I smiled, like an angel, waiting for an answer.

"Uh, okay... but I'm going to take you in at 9:30." squieshie flipped the pancake in the air, and caught it on a blue plate. The blue plate was mine. I always used to blue plate. But of course squieshie washed it every time after I ate. I grabbed the plate from her, and picked up the syrup on my way over to the table. I sat in my blue chair, using my blue fork to cut the pancake. I then squirted out practically half of the bottle on syrup onto my golden brown sweet goodness pancake. I liked my pancakes like this; soggy from too much syrup. Just thinking about that makes me hungry. I ate up the pancake, and sat on the fluffy white couch, waiting for Saokiey, Waffle, and especially rayneboery to wake up.

I was watching the most hilarious cartoon, just when Saokiey came up, and changed the channel.

"That's the dumbest show," he recalled, switching the channels like mad, until he finally came to a show that was for babies. It was called 'The Magic Faeries'. I couldn't believe he still liked that show.

"What? This show is ten times dumber than the one I was watching! Change it back!" I glared at him, and tackled him to the ground. I was good at doing that. I snatched the controller out of his hand, and tried to change the channel as quickly as I could, before Saokiey nailed me. He nailed me. Right when I got to the channel I was watching. I started laughing hysterically at the show. It was the funniest thing I had ever seen. But I didn't notice that the controller had flew out of my hands, and slammed against the hard wood wall. It let out a small zap, and fell to the ground.

"Aww, guys!" squieshie rolled her eyes. "That was the sixth one I've bought so far! I just bought it yesterday, too. I suppose I'll go out and get another one today, then." She sighed, and put rayneboery's plate, Saokiey's plate, Waffle's plate, and her plate on the table. She then began to pig out.

     "Sorry," Saokiey murmured.

"Yeah," I said, under my breath. "Sorry." I always said sorry to someone like I meant it. That was what made people feel a little better.

After breakfast, we all walked to the arena. But sometimes Waffle's little legs to tired, and so squieshie had to carry her. When we finally got there, rayneboery entered the warm -up room, and we all waited for the tournament to get started.

A few minutes later, the guys on the microphone began saying stuff. It was oh, so verbose, and it got extremely boring after a while. But finally, he announced the names of the pets that were participating in the Tournament. He said all of the pets names, and rayneboery was the last one. Just then, two pets came out into the arena. The loudspeaker boomed.

"Now, our first match is Rager_97124, the Halloween Blumaroo, versus rayneboery, the pink Kacheek!"

"Yeah!" squieshie, Waffle, Saokiey and I all said that at the same time, cheering for rayneboery, as the Rager_97124 did the first move. The Halloween Blumaroo ran towards her. He was definitely fast. That gave him a good advantage, sort of. rayneboery jumped up into the air, right when Rager_97124 was going to bash her. Rager smashed against the wall, and rayneboery used both of her Improved Lightning Beams to zap Rager. She did that a couple of times, and at last, Rager_97124 was defeated. rayneboery jumped with joy, and we were, too. The crowd was cheering, and yelling, and whistling. But then the crowd died down when the next opponent came in to battle against rayneboery. That battle went smooth, rayneboery won easily, like the next two rounds. She was now in the Semi-finals, and the challengers seemed to get harder, and harder every time.

The challenger came out. He was a green Ixi. I had never really seen another Ixi, besides me, the beautiful me, whenever I looked in a mirror. The green Ixi pulled out a sword, and swung it out at rayneboery. She dodged every swing, and shot herself towards him, using her shield to guard herself. The battle raged on, and rayneboery was loosing, bad. She had cuts, wounds, and all sorts of bruises over her small Kacheek-ish body. Her energy was fading, too. The green Ixi grinned, and he pulled something out of his ear. It was a weird thing to see. But it turned out to be an extremely small bottle. He unscrewed the top, and splashed a think, purple liquid all over rayneboery. She was panting, and she fainted.

I gasped, and looked over at squieshie. She looked really worried, along with Soakiey, and WaffleDucky.

rayneboery had gotten to the Semi-finals. And she lost it all. Plus, she was hurt bad.

The next thing I knew, the NeoHospital was at the Battledome arena. The sound of sirens always made me uneasy. But this time I was shaking myself half to death.
