NOT SO NEOPIA CENTRAL - A Unicorn Paint brush? A lap top? A Model Horse? Are
you nuts? No, I'm not nuts. All these items existed at one time or another in
Neopia's past. Model Horse was a toy for about 6,000 Neopoints, and it was a
horse on a stand "for horse lovers". Unicorn paint brushes were very
rare, and painted your Neopets completely white with a horn on their head.
A lap top was another toy. It was a lap top computer your pets could play with.
It had a blue screen and said Neopets on it in bubble letters. There were probably
other toys that were taken away too. I can understand how when a sponsorship
ends, they replace the item with something else. But why Neopets has taken them
away other items is a mystery. Was it to save space on their database?
There are other things such as trading cards that are gone. Cards like "The
Phantom" replaced an Uni trading card. The beautiful black winged Uni Devora
with a black lightning background was replaced by an ugly Lupe with dynamite!
What is this virtual world coming to?!
Many Neopets have also evolved or changed. If you are a newbie, then this is
probably bug news for you guys. An example is the Zafara, or a more extreme
one, the Bruce for changing. There have been three different images for Zafara,
though I like the first one best. Four images for Bruce have been done. One
used to be a waiter with a twirly moustache! Some instances of evolution are
the Fuzio to Kyrii, the Cerpull to Tatsu to Eyrie, and the Fleye to Buzz. In
my opinion, the Tatsu was adorable, but so is the Eyrie. So why can't Neopets
redo the Tatsu image to make it look nicer, and then neopia can have both forms?
Theme parks are also gone (yeah, remember those?) although I thought they were
cool. You could visit other users' parks and your Neopets could go on rides
such as water slide, wooden coasters, and get candy apples and souvenirs. (You
couldn't really keep them in your inventory, it just made your pet(s) happy)
Pets pictures have also drastically changed, as in the Halloween line. Nearly
every single image has been updated, some for the worst in my opinion.
Why get rid of the laptop, or change the cool trading cards? Why get rid of
the Unicorn paint brush? Why remove the model horse?
Games, too, have also been removed. And example is Tic-Tac-Toe, or the Treasure
Hunt Game (Similar to the sweetarts island quest. You would go around the site
until you found all the clues, then you would get a space map piece.) The first
Kiko Match was tons more fun than the second version.
A more dramatic change was the destruction of Maraqua. The beautiful underwater
city was destroyed by a mysterious whirlpool thought to be caused by pirates,
although no one is sure. There is still a water arena though. Huh.
Obelisks have also been the subject of much discussion, such as why the obelisk
in Tyrannia is gone. Did someone drive into it? Did Sloth use it to open Meridell,
which he will use as an evil base for the Tyrannian Land War?
Pretty much all of this article is open to speculation, but I hope you realise
that the world of Neopia is subject to change, and that it will always be that
way.
