Games Room Dilemma? by 10rose10 | |
GAMES ROOM - You’ve probably been to this room a lot, to find a game that
is suited for you. It is extremely hard finding games that you are both good
at and give you a lot of Neopoints. Trust me, I know. Well, my devoted Eyrie
10snowflake10 and I have put together some guides to a few random games. The
summaries are Snowflake’s, with some editing from. The advice is mine. Hopefully
they’ll give you some ideas for some games to try, or some games to watch out
for.
Meerca Chase:
Frustration Rating: A Little
Neopoint Give-out: Equal to your score
Snowflake’s Quick Rating: Fun! That Meerca looks really funny running ‘round and
‘round and ‘round!!
Summary: You’re a little Meerca who has to eat all the neggs (except for the
red ones) in order to earn points. If you run into the wall, your tail, (which
grows every time you eat) or a red negg you lose. This is a must-play game.
Especially if you have a slow modem, because it is the smallest game I know,
so it wouldn’t take too much time to load. (It’s only about 18 K)
Advice: Start on the easy level, and once you get bored with that, try the
medium. If you are insane, like me, try the hard level.
Deckswabber:
Frustration Rating: None At All
Neopoint Give-out: Equal to your score
Snowflake’s Quick Rating: A little tiresome, but it’s better than washing the
socks!
Summary: You’re a Pirate Blumaroo who has to ‘swab the deck’ by landing on
each square. Sounds simple, right? WRONG! You have to avoid big bad pirates
while collecting dubloons and going through something very much like an obstacle
course. Unfortunately, you no longer get real dubloons from this game.
Advice: Find your own way to get through each ‘maze.’ I recommend spirals,
but that doesn’t always work.
Shapeshifter:
Frustration Rating: Extreme
Neopoint Give-out: 400 Neopoints per completed level
Snowflake’s Quick Rating: Frustrating, but it beats doing homework!
Summary: You have to place the shapes on the board so that all the shapes
turn to swords. Sound easy? NOPE! It’s the hardest game I know, with a few exceptions.
If you can’t deal with frustration, or you hate REALLY hard puzzles,
this isn’t the game for you. GOOD LUCK!
Advice: Read the instructions. Read them again. After that, just try it. There
are hundreds of solutions. Try to play it twice a day. If you complete a level,
add another two times. That way you minimise frustration, but still get Neopoints
If you don’t like it, or it just doesn’t click, try Sewage Surfer.
Sewage Surfer:
Frustration Rating: A Lot
Neopoint Give-out: It really varies, but about 100 points per level give or take
a lot.
Snowflake’s Quick Rating: Gross! *Shudders*
Summary: It’s a game VERY similar to Shapeshifter, in which you are Matt the
Wocky who has to repair Neopia’s sewage system! Sounds disgusting, right? RIGHT!
For once you are absolutely correct. Anyway, you have to place the pipes around
obstacles so they connect one pipe to the other. It isn’t easy. As you can see
by my pathetic scores, I just gave up.
Advice: Not much, except for you should plan your own way to work out each
level. Again, GOOD LUCK!
Destruct-O-Match:
Frustration Rating: A Little
Neopoint Give-out: Half your score
Snowflake’s Quick Rating: Boom! Boom! And the blocks go flying!
Summary: It’s a little like the classic game Alphabets, in which you have
to click on the blocks that are the same colour AND are next to each other in
order to blow them up. The point is for you to clear the screen, or get enough
points to go on to the next level at least. There are four levels, and each
time you go up a level they add another colour block.
Advice: Start from the top of the screen and go to the bottom. Also, make
sure before you click that you aren’t disrupting another group of blocks.
Ice Caves:
Frustration Rating: Between A Lot and Extreme
Neopoint Give-out: Equal to your score
Snowflake’s Quick Rating: They need Eyries in this game! Otherwise, it’s hard
but fun!
Summary: You’re Garon, a heroic Lupe, who has to get through the Ice Caves
safely. You have to use the arrow keys to work your way through a maze to get
the silver key, and then get to the door. Sounds easy, right? Okay, so maybe
it doesn’t sound easy. It’s not. There are all sorts of obstacles ranging from
bombs to puddles to balls, and secret passage ways. I’ve only been able to get
to level three, and that level is IMPOSSIBLE! If you are able to get past it,
congratulations.
Advice: Keep practising. And watch out for the bombs, unless you’re really
frustrated and want to make a suicidal Lupe out of yourself. :) If you find
you’re good at this, try Faerie Caves. It’s almost the same thing, just harder.
Faerie Caves:
Frustration Rating: Extreme
Neopoint Give-out: Three times your score
Snowflake’s Quick Rating: Same as Ice Caves, THEY NEED MORE EYRIES! (*Hint Hint
Neopets Staff*)<
Summary: It’s practically the same as Ice Caves, just a whole lot harder.
Each level was made by a different faerie and is themed that way. If you actually
get to complete a level, you should be rewarded. The levels are really, really,
hard.
Advice: They say Light before Dark, Earth before Air, and Fire before Water.
That’s the order you should do the puzzles in. But be warned, the light faerie’s
level is amazingly strange. Only half the bombs will blow, and you can’t backtrack.
Once you leave a square it fills up. So if you’re just starting out, try the
Fire or the Air faerie’s level, just for practice.
Ultimate Bullseye:
Frustration Rating: None At All
Neopoint Give-out: Four times your score
Snowflake’s Quick Rating: It’s hard to shoot with claws and wings.
Summary: You have to position a crossbow/catapult, which is held by a Turtum,
then and use the powerbar to shoot at the bullseye. Sounds easy, right? (I hope
you’ve figured out the answer by now) WRONG! First of all, the bullseye is TINY!
Second, it’s just plain hard. You get ten shots, and different points for how
close you get to the bullseye, ranging from 1 to 5. If you get a bullseye, you
get 10 points and a power-up. Power-ups are really cool features like enlarging
the bullseye.
Advice: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! And don’t put on too much power. The
fourth or fifth line on the powerbar should do it.
Cheeseroller:
Frustration Rating: A Little
Neopoint Give-out: Variable. It depends on your time.
Snowflake’s Quick Rating: Cheese is good. I like cheese.
Summary: Buy the cheese from the cheese shop with your own Neopoints, and
then see how fast you can run down the hill with it! If you get down in under
a minute you get to keep the cheese! It’s not that simple, but that’s about
the gist of it. This game is especially good if you like to collect stuff, because
cheese is a perfectly reasonable thing to collect! (At least in my opinion.
I like to collect the cheeses.)
Advice: The more expensive the cheese is, the more likely it is that you’LL
get to keep it. For a list of cheeses and other hints for Cheeseroller, click
here. (It’s a really
good site that I found, but it isn’t mine.)
Faerie Crossword
Puzzle:
Frustration Rating: A Little
Neopoint Give-out: None, unless you are a miracle. If you are then it’s either
600, 400, or 200 Neopoints, depending on your time.
Snowflake’s Quick Rating: Better than doing the dishes.
Summary: What is there to say? It’s an extremely hard crossword puzzle based
on Neopets. If you haven’t been on Neopets very long, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Some of the questions have to do with Maraqua or old, outdated items.
Advice: Open up two windows, one with the actual crossword puzzle and one
on Neopets that you can use to search. Just check the puzzle every day and if
it looks too hard, don’t do it.
Carnival Of Terror:
Frustration Rating: None At All
Neopoint Give-out: Equal to your score.
Snowflake’s Quick Rating: Heee! And another Chia Clown bites the dust!
Summary: It’s one of your basic shoot-down-the-things-that-come-at (after)
-you type games. You have to shoot the Chia Clowns and their pies before their
pies get you and you lose health. Each Chia Clown part is worth a different
amount of points. Also, you should try to shoot the ammo, time, and health boxes
to earn you more time, ammo, or health. If you run out of either of those things,
you loose!
Advice: Shoot the pies at all costs because they are the things that make
you lose health. Also, you don’t have to shoot all the clowns. If they’re moving
too fast, don’t shoot. You’LL just lose ammo.
Ice Cream Factory:
Frustration Rating: A Little
Neopoint Give-out: A quarter of your score
Snowflake’s Quick Rating: Ice cream is good too.
Summary: This game is the easiest, most boring, and most Neopoint give-out
game I have ever known. You’re Adee the Chia, who has to get to the good ice
cream by going through a security system of ice cream cannons and a maze of
boxes in the warehouse. Good news though! You can dodge the cannons firing at
you, and you can push the boxes! Simple, right? Um, maybe. There are a few catches,
though. Catch number one: with the completion of each level the ice creams get
faster. Catch number two: There are different kinds of Ice Creams. (This one
I can help you with. All ice creams are bad except for the two pink ones, the
dark blue one, and the yellow one when you’re not on the yellow level.) Catch
number three: It’s really annoying, unless you are REALLY patient,
partly because you don’t get that many Neopoints, and partly because it’s just
plain annoying. Other than that, it’s a cool game, I guess.
Advice: Try playing it once or twice, and then only play it when you REALLY
need Neopoints That’s what I do for this annoying, slightly twisted, game.
Once you’ve found your game or games, play them three times a day, every day.
You’d be surprised to find out that your scores will get better and better,
and you will get more and more Neopoints And if you don’t like any of these
games, try some card games. I didn’t include any since they are really hard
to summarise. I would recommend Cheat, or Pyramids.
Note: I am NOT an expert at these games, and I don’t pretend
to be. Your scores will be very different from mine. You also may think that
Faerie Caves is amazingly easy, or you may think Ultimate Bullseye is really
frustrating. Feel free to Neomail
me with any comments, suggestions, or questions. I hope you’ve found some
games that suit you. Happy Neogaming! |
