All About Water Faeries

by roguegirl_37

Finally translated for the first time, this fancy hardcover edition of one of Neopia's most treasured books; All About Water Faeries has arrived. The third of a series of all the Faerie books, this is sure to be a must have for all households.

Foreword from the author C. Chesterpot: I hope you enjoy this third volume from Faerie Books Inc. Even the most experts among us will be sure to learn something they never knew before. This is sure to absorb and delight all types of readers of all ages. Once the winner of the Churros Book Award, and another time the winner of the Red Juppie Prize, it has been at the top of the bestseller list for 2 consecutive weeks! It is guaranteed to bring out the Water Faerie lover in you! It has also been voted by The Neopian Times as " as deep and informative as the vast oceans of Neopia itself!"

Of course, being another one of the most expensive and sought for books on the market, Faerie Books, Inc., was anxious to have me translate yet another one of the Faerie series. As if I hadn't had enough from the last two! I decided to tackle the mystical and deep Water Faerie. So once again I was pouring over ancient scrolls and wandering around the world in search for information on the Water Faerie (I also found time to do a little scuba diving). I hope you treasure this book for many years to come.

Chapter 1: Where They Live
The Uber Water Faerie is a quiet but powerful Faerie She gets along well with almost all the Faeries, even with the Fire and Dark Faerie if you can believe it! She owns a home up in Faerieland, right close to the Healing Springs, where she spends most of her time. The magic springs are perhaps her favourite place in all of Neopia, which is why she enjoys healing pets and their owners for free. She sells lots of little potions too, for a good price. Even though she is well settled and content in Faerieland, waterfalls, ponds, rivers and oceans are her other favourite places to be. Catch her near one of these places already mentioned and she may hand out a quest.

To some this may seem rather obvious, but Water Faeries do indeed live mostly in or by water. They like to keep cool and hydrated while playing in the water. Sometimes you may catch a glimpse of their little bodies swimming away underwater at a nearby stream or river.

Chapter 2: The Likes and Dislikes of a Water Faerie
The Water Faerie is nice to all sorts of Neopians and will gladly help a pet or owner out. She loves to see pets using water responsibly, for more than anything else the Water Faerie hates to see someone waste water. This normal gentle and understanding Faerie can get vengeful when she sees an irresponsible pet wasting too much water for no good reason. So beware! Just like the Uber Water Faerie, the common little Water Faerie will become quite vicious if they see someone wasting water, so you never know who could be watching you secretly waste water. In my expert advice, please, just don't waste a drop and you'll live to be an old, healthy pet!

The Water Faerie likes all sorts of NeoPets, but her favourites are perhaps, Kikos, Koi and other pets who love the water. Any pet painted Sketchy, Electric or even has a blue coat is said to be blessed and in her favour. She also likes pets who are bright and smart and who love to read the many books offered in Neopia. The Uber Water Faerie loves to read books and learn lots of new things.

She likes to make plenty of helpful potions for the residents of Neopia and beyond, and enjoys meeting the inhabitants of this world. Which is why you can visit her at the healing springs where she will gladly heal your pet, feed them or even give you a helpful potion while your there.

The Water Faerie likes to see pets grow up proud and strong and if you find the books she asks for on a quest she'll gladly boost up your defense. She was recently seen in the Battledome along with the other Faeries offering to fight all who challenge her. Smart and agile this Faerie was quite a match for most challengers!

Chapter 3: Character
The Uber Water Faerie is a kind and gentle being. She is also very very wise. Because of this she is usually called to settle disagreements between the different Faeries. This is especially true when these disagreements involve the Fire Faerie, since the Water Faerie is the only one who can cool the Fire Faerie's hot temper! She is usually quite understanding to all pets and likes to meet all different kinds of Neopians The Water Faerie gets along well with every one and loves to hear different opinions even if they don't match her own (which is a rare thing to come from a Faerie!).

She rarely gets angry, and this is usually because some oblivious Neopian has wasted water or hurt someone without a good reason. If she were mad enough though she could easily create huge hurricanes and typhoons that can destroy all that stands in their paths. Though it seems very unlikely that a Neopian would ever be able to push her to such extreme measures. Of course for people like Sloth, well..., that's another matter entirely!

Chapter 4: History
The Water Faerie has been around through the many ages of Neopia. Early tribes of Neopia worshipped this water goddess so that they may have rain to feed their crops with. Early pets such as the Kikos and Koi enjoyed building shrines in her honor as well as other land pets who were asking for good rain and water. There are many underwater shrines dedicated to her all over the world's ocean, some of the most famous can be found around Maraqua.

She was recognised as a sort of referee between different tribes involved in disputes. Because she spoke so many different languages she could communicate between the two different tribes and resolve their problems without anyone getting hurt. The Water Faerie is kind to all those who worship her and who ask nicely for water in the coming year, but as the citizens of the Lost Desert learned it is better to ask than to demand. It is said that Sakhmet had always refused to worship or leave offerings of wine or of knowledge to the Water Faerie One day when she came down to visit the Lost Desert disguised as a beggar. The Lost Desert had not been getting much water lately and she wanted to find out why they did not ask or send any offerings to her. She was quite surprised to discover that the citizens of the time were very proud and most of them quite rich. They were too proud to ask for water and instead went about the day cursing the Water Faerie and insulting her. The Water Faerie became so enraged at this she put a curse on Sakhmet and the Lost Desert and refused to ever again send water down to the selfish and proud citizens condemning them to a life of blistering heat with only a small amount of water to sustain them.

Chapter 5: Flying Skills
The Water Faerie possesses many different flying skills. She is somewhat tricky to beat since she can absorb or "dampen" the effects of the attacks causing her very little harm. She also has some of the best battle weapons and moves having studied carefully for many years the best possible moves and weapons for winning a battle. She has many moves that can only be performed by one as great as she and possessing the same vast knowledge as she does (of course there is none alive who are equal to her in this way). So kids be certain not to try this at home! Her best move, and most amazing in my mind, is the Cyclone Sea Attack. The Water Faerie will start by facing her opponent squarely, than the strangest thing begins to happen her eyes begin to glow a radioactive blue and small amounts of water will start coming towards her swirling around her getting closer and closer as more water arrives. The water swirls faster and faster gaining speed and wrapping itself like a sort of sheet around the Faerie Any attacks by her opponent will be crushed by the protective wall of water encircling her. Finally, She will be completely hidden by the water swirling around looking a bit like a water tornado. This is when her attack starts. This swirling mass of water containing the Faerie advances on the opponent and begins to swirl around the opponent, unraveling itself from the Faerie, creating a solid circle of water that traps the opponent in a small space while the Water Faerie is on the outside and free of the water. This is particularly unpleasant for any one who is claustrophobic as she wall gets closer and closer, leaving very little room to move. The Water Faerie than has all the time in the world to attack. Using various weapons she can attack from all angle, hidden by the curtain of water, while the opponent tires himself out trying to find out where her next move will come from. The winner is always, undoubtedly, the Water Faerie

Tidal Triumph is another one of her favourite moves. This one is a real soaker! With her powerful fins and her mysterious water powers, this is a very simple but effective move. The Water Faerie uses her graceful fins and her magic to send with a powerful sweeping motion out of her tail, huge waves of water seem to come out of nowhere and head straight for her opponent. Theses huge tidal waves stop dead any attack her opponent uses and leaves the opponent, shall we say, pretty washed up! Then the Water Faerie can attack at her ease without worrying about being attacked.

Chapter 6: Inventions
The Water Faerie has quite a few inventions in her name or that she's come up with the idea for. She is the one who has been said to have started the whole Underwater map that many try to finish and gives many great rewards. She is also the one who invented the electric paint brush and the sketchy paint brush, the pets turn out usually blue (which is by far the best colour on earth) and completely cool in her opinion!

She has also invented the many potions and elixirs that you can buy from her shop. Theses potions are extremely helpful and given out quite generously. The Water Faerie says you can stop by any time!

She has also invented many foods too. The very complex and puzzling water dog is a good example, just how do they get the water to stay in the bun? Then comes the sand and spherical watermelon; which are quite tasty, I must say, but why all how can a watermelon be a watermelon if it is full of sand? Perhaps it should be called the sandmelon?

She is also the one who gave the idea for the water mote. As well as many other rare and diverse items you may find around Neopia. It is rumoured that she may even have been the one who gave the other Faeries the idea to open up the Rainbow Fountain so that pets could change their colour or species cheaply. Way to go Water Faerie!

P.S. I hope you all enjoyed this third Faerie book from the transcripted series and I am very sorry it took so long to get out. It seems that Chesterpot had a very busy month of July at Camp.
