Chapter Nine: Jake the Lone Avenger
"Balthazar," I yawned, "Where are you going?"
"I'm checking in with Fyora, Kento," He replied, "I'll be back within five
hours. In the meantime you guys can site see a bit. Go Poogle Racing, Cloud
Racing, Wheel of Excitement, etc., etc., etc."
"I'm all for it," Meilin cheered punching a fist in the air.
"Just be careful okay?" Balthazar asked. "Later!"
"Who's up to see if they're selling any Faerie Brushes," Shin proposed.
"Yeah!" we all confirmed.
"That's not me," our pets said trying to avoid being Faeried.
"Oh no you don't," the three of us counted scooping them up so they don't try
to enforce it.
"Come on I'm sure they sell Fire brushes too," I tried to persuade Flaremon's
mind.
"All right, if it makes you happy," he said with a embarrassed looking face.
"Let's go then," I said as we headed for Faerie City.
Faerie Queen's Palace
"Balthazar has arrived your grace," a faerie guard informing Fyora.
"Garon!" she called, "escort your brother please."
"Yes Fyora," Garon answered. He walked outside to greet his brother; he was
about to say hello until he noticed the kids were not with Balthazar. "Little
brother where are those kids?"
"They're browsing in the shops," Balthazar replied, "Why?"
"BAKA!" Garon shout, "Sloth might have set a bunch of traps out there!"
"I didn't think about it," Balthazar said nervously.
"Don't worry about it," Garon trying not to discourage Balthazar, "You made
a mistake. I'll help you fix that mistake. Now let's find those kids."
"Okay," Balthazar accepted. They started out to the marketplace, "Hey Faerie!
Tell Fyora there's been a delay. Will be back."
"All right monsieur," the faerie chuckled.
Healing Springs
"Balthazar's taking to long," Shin complained, "Where is he?"
"You just have to wait Shin," Meilin said as she was walking backwards not
looking. A boy our age, wearing some kind of boots and has some stripes on his
face, was walking down the road reading a book; a Buzz was Buzzing on the boy's
side. The boy wasn't looking where he is going either. That's when I notice
it. The Buzz noticed it as well. Meilin and the boy were going to walk right
into each other.
"Meilin!" I shouted.
"Ohano!" the Buzz shouted.
"Look out!" the Buzz and I finished at the same time. But it was too late.
They collided into each other with the boy on the ground and Meilin sitting
on top of him.
"OW, that hurt," the two shouted at the same time, then they noticed each other
and continued saying the same thing, "Are you okay? Yeah, I'm fine. It was all
my fault. You're cute. You two. Here let you up." They pulled each other up.
"What's your name. You first."
"I'll start then," Meilin said, "I'm Meilin, and you?"
"Jake is the name," the boy introduced himself, "and Neopets is my game."
Then they started laughing. Then the rest of us joined in. It was kind of funny
how they walked right into each other then saying the same thoughts.
"Meilin, who are your friends?" Jake asked.
"This is Kento, the one with the vest," she said pointing to me, that's Shin
with the Chinese dress. The Shoyru, Flaremon belongs to Kento. The Kacheek,
Shenlon is Shin's. And the Aisha, Konami is mine."
"This is my Buzz," Jake said pointing to the Buzz, "his name is Sting."
Then we saw Balthazar and some other Lupe coming to view. "Hey guys, sorry
it took so long," Balthazar shouted, "Guys this is my older brother Garon. You
might know him if you played either Ice Caves or Faerie Caves." Then he saw
Jake. "Who are you?"
"Jake, sir," Jake said nervously. He turned and saw Meilin's eyes as if she's
asking him to take her somewhere. "Meilin, do you want to go to the Space Station
with me?"
"Hey kid," Garon said grabbing Jake by the arm. Jake was shaking as if Garon
was going to pound him into a pulp. "She can't go anywhere unless if I or Balthazar
says so."
"I don't see why not," Balthazar said, "but if she goes, we all go."
"I don't have a problem with that," Jake said.
"Then let's go," Balthazar said, "Fyora can wait."
"Wait for me," Garon said catching up with the rest of us.
The Palace
"Your majesty!" a Faerie said flying into court. "Balthazar and the kids had
just left!"
"It's all right Natali," Fyora said calmly. "They're headed straight towards
Sloth's Station as Jacob and I planned. I chose him to be a double agent, playing
both sides. My most brilliant plan yet. Though their fight will cross to the
human world."
"Your grace," Natali shouted, "Enough, you'll give out the ending away!"
"Oops my bad," Fyora said slapping her forehead.
Chapter Ten: Sloth's Ambush
"This is the space station?" Konami asked with an expression that cats usually
have.
"It looks different when I last saw it on my computer," I pointed out.
"Well this a space station that the site doesn't put up," Jake explained.
"I wonder why," Shin pouted.
"No reason," Jake replied, "This way. I suggest you get your Stones out, now."
"Wait, you know about Neorization?" I asked him.
"You guys actually thought there were only the three of you?" he asked back.
"But, Meilin said she made three Neoports," I reasoned.
"True, but the one I have was already made," Meilin explained.
"Just get them out!" Jake shouted. We took our stones out. Then there was a
faint sliding sound behind us.
"Attack!" Commando Garoo shouted. A mixture of mutant Pets and Grundos advancing
on us."
"You know what to do guys," Balthazar said. He and Garon were in Ninja stance.
The four of us, Meilin, Shin, Jake, and I nodded us and raised our Neoports
in one hand and the stones in the other and shouted, "NEO ARMOUR ENERGISE!"
Our Neopets started to glow.
"Honou no pawa apu," Flaremon shouted, "Flamramon the Shoyru of Inferno Flame."
"Mizu no pawa apu," Konami shouted, "Konamizunagi the Aisha of Surging Sea."
"Tsuki no pawa apu," Shenlon shouted, "Shenope the Kacheek of Foggy Shadows."
"Metaru no pawa apu," Sting joined in, "Stinger the Buzz of Silver Steel."
[Metal Power Up.]
They all took battle stance.
"Inferno Fire Punch," Flamramon shouted punching his usual blazing fist.
"Twin Laser Blade Slash," Stinger said as blades shot out of his hands and
started to glow. Then he slashed his side of the battlefield.
"Waters of Neopia Deep Submerge," Konamizunagi said as she concentrated a ball
of water in her hands and then she threw it at the closet army of mutants near
her.
"Smokescreen Shadow Beam," Shenope said as the moon gem on his forehead started
to glow bright. Then he launched it at the Commando. Nothing seemed to appear
then the overgrown Blumaroo fell to the ground, fading away like Esophagor did.
"Is that all you got?" a notorious voice spoke threw the intercom, "Seriously
Jake, didn't you think I knew you'd double cross me? By the way if you're looking
for me I'm not here. I only need one more item on my shopping list, and then
I'm out to destroy your puny, little Earth. Good day."
"Jake you mean you worked for Sloth?" Shin yelled grabbing Jake by the collar.
"Hey, I'm a secret agent working for Fyora herself," Jake explained, "She knows
we are here. We have to find Sloth before he finds the Lab Ray."
"The Lab Ray?" I asked, "What's that?"
"Kento, do you know anything?" Shin continued to yell releasing Jake, "the
Lab Ray is a stupid device that can change your pet when the trigger is pulled.
Anything can happen when the ray is used. Sometimes there are side affects too."
"Yikes!" I yelped, "Can it work on people?"
"If a modify card is slashed through it can," Jake replied.
"Okay I got all that," I confirmed, "But where is it located."
"I got a map," Balthazar said. "And according to the map it says it's near
the Maraqua Whirlpool."
"All right troops you heard 'em," Garon said, acting like a Sargent, "Let's
move, move, move!"
"Right!" we all answered.
Chapter Eleven: The Lab Ray's Modification
"Those children are so stupid," Sloth laughed hysterically, "Probably they're
crying because they know it's curtains for Earth and Neopia."
"That's where you're wrong Sloth,' We all shouted at once. He spun around startled.
"How did you get here so fast?" Sloth bellowed.
"Easy you are the one who taught me how to do teleport speed to a hovercraft,"
Jake replied.
"Now you're the one who is cooked," I shouted, "Now you can't do a thing to
stop us 'cause we're a team and like a team we came the name Neo-Chosened."
"Neo-Chosened!" Sloth growled at us, "I'll just have to destroy you first."
"Not quite," Flamramon interrupted, "Inferno Rocket Blast." He opened his mouth
to reveal a fireball was forming. At the same time he was forming Inferno Blazes
in his palms. The fireballs got bigger, brighter, and stronger. "Range and Fire!"
Fireballs were flying all over heading straight for Sloth.
"Fool!" Sloth boasted, "Did you actually think that'll work. What?" The fireballs
stopped dead in the air. "Is this a trick?"
"Yep," Flamramon said grinning, "Konamizunagi, Now!"
"Waters of Neopia Deep Submerge," she attacked with the water ball that formed
in her paws.
"Ah," Sloth groaned, " That's all you got?"
"Not quite, fire," Flamramon shouted, the fireballs one by one hit Sloth silly
all over him, "Now your game is over Sloth. You won't be able to modify the
Lab Ray now."
"Hey the Lab Ray is gone," Shin said looking out the Laboratory Door.
"Too late, it's too late," Sloth gloated laughing. He revealed a Modify Card
in hand, and the Lab Ray in the other, "Lab Ray Modify Now." At the moment he
said he slashed the card through the Ray Gun. Nothing changed. "See ya later
Neo-Chosened," he said throwing a smoke bomb at us.
"Can't see a thing," Meilin mumbled.
"Miracle Light of Life," Stinger said as his antennas glowed clear up the smokescreen.
Sloth left no trace on which direction he went.
"Where is he?" I asked, then I got an idea, "Garon, Balthazar I got a piece
of Sloth's cloak. Sniff this to see if you can get his scent."
"Not a bad idea," Balthazar admitted. The two brothers took a whiff of Sloth's
clothing and started chasing Sloth's trail. "He's on his way to Neo Central!"
"Oh great," we all groaned.
Chapter Twelve: Here we go!
"At last the Portal to the Real World," Sloth gloated.
Fyora appeared before Sloth and she said, "Not yet Doctor Frankenstein Sloth."
"You!" Sloth snarled, "you're out of your league Faerie." He aimed the Lab
Ray at her. "I'll dispose you Queenie."
"Go ahead there's a group of children who are willing to avenge me," Fyora
smiled, "And let's not forget every single good Neopet in this paradise that
you and others try to destroy. If you do destroy the real world then Neopia
will be gone too. And then all the other worlds that depends on the Real World
for life and energy. If you manage to do that then you're just committing suicide.
You're all Neopet data. If Neopia goes then you go too. Realise this, and forget
the hatred in your heart. Please Sloth, listen to me. Balthazar used to be like
you, he hated Faeries ever since I banished him, but when he met those four
kids his heart and ways changed for the sake of Neopets society and for freedom.
That's why I gave him a second chance. We all will give you a chance if you…"
"Shut up Faerie!" Sloth had enough of Fyora's sympathy.
"No you Dr. Trash," I shouted. The others appeared behind me.
"Well, well, well," he chuckled to himself, "if it isn't the Neo-Chosened.
You see it's already too late and the future of the world is mine." He aimed
the Lab Ray at the Portal with his army surrounding him ready to jump in the
portal, "As they say T-T-F-N, TA, TA for Now." The portal grew to the size of
an elephant and he and his army marched right in the portal then Zap! They're
gone." Then we tried running after them, but a barrier prevented us to proceed.
"Wait," Fyora said, "You guys need to use your Neoports, but that'll take out
the energy in them so I'll help this one time."
"What do you mean?" Balthazar asked concerned.
"I'll use my powers to open the barrier so all eight of you can cross over
to the other world," she explained. "When you do so you'll end up at the computer
you used to get here in the first place. Balthazar. Garon. I have to put a spell
on both of you so people don't get suspicious on what our mission is. Here we
go then. Acuno, Macorti, Setusti." At a blink of an eye Balthazar and Garon
were transformed from Lupes to Huskies. "Don't you two look precious," Fyora
started to say, "Balthazar you go with Shin and Shenlon, and Garon you stay
with Jake and Sting. Deal?"
"Deal!" we all agreed.
"All right everyone stand clear," Fyora said starting to perform another spell,
"Afoorum, Chebana, Setoron, Deablo. Okay guys we're ready. Neopets, Balthazar
and Garon too. Cling on to your partner with their Neoports out and everyone
says Neopian Portal Open."
Everyone did what Fyora commanded, the pets clang onto our clothing, took out
our Neoports and said, "NEOPIAN PORTAL OPEN!" Zap!
Chapter Thirteen: Home Again
"Uh?" I said yawning, "I'm back."
"Kento home so soon?" my mother said looking through my door.
I looked my clock. 7o' clock a.m. then I glanced on the calendar, still the
thirteenth of June. It seemed that an hour had past since I left. Flaremon?
"Rokuman what is this?" I looked at the kitty basket in my room. My cat was
sleeping peacefully.
"Flaremon, SHH!" I whispered, "this is my cat and her name is Miko."
"She looks like an Aisha," my Shoyru observed, "Except they don't have extra
ears."
"I'll check if the others made it," I volunteered, "this might be a difficult
battle Flaremon."
"Why do you say that?" Flaremon asked just about to lay down his head on a
pillow, "Oh, this is just right." Shortly he fell asleep.
"Go ahead little guy," I said tucking him in, "We need it."
It felt good to be back.
To be continued…
