Secrets of the Secret Laboratory Map by sarahishika | |
SECRET LOCATION - All of you Neopians out there must have been wondering about
the powers of the Secret Lab map. It is, by far, the most expensive map, after
the Underwater map. That is only because the Underwater map has been retired.
Well, actually, the map does nothing at all, except to show you the path to
the Secret Laboratory. Residing in the laboratory is a yellow Scorchio professor
who claims to be working on a new experiment that will give your pet super powers.
But, since it is an experiment, nothing will always go as planned.
Firstly, let's talk about the map pieces. There are 9 of them in Neopia. You
can buy them from the Shop Wizard, or find them as a random event. The maps
are valued between 7,000 NP to 9,000 NP, depending on the rarity of the piece.
Once you have all 9 pieces, you can go to the "Treasure Maps" game
and piece the whole map together. It will then show you the way to the Secret
Laboratory.
Once you get there, you have to remember that every decision that you make
is at your own risk and that it will effect your pet, positively or negatively.
Now, let me tell you what the Lab Ray is able to do to your pet:
It can increase your pet's stats. I have been using the Lab Ray for almost
a year now, and it has improved my pet's stats a lot. It can increase your pet's
strength by 2 - 5 points, increase your pet's defence by 2 - 5 points, increase
your pet's agility by 2 - 5 points, and also it can increase the level of your
pet. However, it can also decrease your pet's stats by the same amount of points
that it increases it by. This is definitely a negative aspect of the Lab Ray,
especially after you've spent codestones and time to train your pet.
The next thing that it can do is to change your pet's gender. This may sound
weird, but it's true. If your pet is hit with a gender-changing ray, you pet
will turn from a male to a female, and vice-versa. The only way to change it
back to its original gender is to wait for another gender-changing ray on another
day. But, due to the creativity of the creators of Neopets, a potion called
"Strange Potion" was created. It is designed mainly to change your
pet's gender to the other one, but it doesn't come cheap. You can't buy it at
the Shop Wizard, and it trades for about 250,000 NP at the Trading Post. So,
be sure that your pet doesn't mind changing its gender for a little while before
you fire the ray on your pet.
The next thing that the Lab Ray can do is to change your pet's species and
colour. I would not recommend the Lab Ray for owners who have just painted their
pet with those expensive paint brushes, as chances are that your beautiful Faerie
Scorchio may be turned into a blue Kyrii. For those owners who do not mind having
their pets changing species and colour every now and then, I say go for it.
You never know what the Lab Ray will turn your pet into. Maybe you'll end up
with a cool Halloween Blumaroo, or even maybe a cute Rainbow Aisha! In the one
year that I've been using the Lab Ray, my pet has changed from a fire Scorchio
to a white Lupe, a Tyrannian Flotsam, a striped Flotsam and a Blue Kyrii, which
is its current species and colour.
Basically, that's about all that the Lab Ray could do. So, with the secrets
of the Lab Ray now out in the open, what's your choice going to be? I suggest
that it's a good investment to get ahold of the 9 map pieces and go to the Secret
Lab everyday. My pet has become stronger just by using the Lab Ray, and if you're
looking to save money, it will come in handy in the long run. When your pet
is of a higher level, you may need 3 - 4 codestones to train it, which will
cost you around 9000NP. But chances are with the Lab Ray, your pet's stats may
increase by 2 - 5 points in a single day! That's a lot of money that you can
save!
But remember, every decision that you make is at your own risk, or should
I say your pet's risk. Be sure before you fire that ray as it may change your
pet, forever.... |
