Neopoint Tactic Tips

by epk

The floor shakes... you've got no place to hide... a big giant monster appears before you... you pull out your Rod of Ultranova and blow the thing up.

Okay, there are a few problems with the story I just presented to you... like in a giant, huge world like Neopia, you do always have a pebble or something to hide behind. Second, I know millionaires who couldn't afford even a Rod of Nova, much less Ultranova.

So what does this have to do with my article? Well, I have recently had this talk with my imagination, and apparently there is a good chance (1:3) that a storyline will come and strike NeoPets. That means the Not-So-Good Dr. Frank Sloth might come back and take over the poor innocent civilians of a newly discovered territory. That means a huge, ugly, hideous Tonu may come and destroy all the puny Lupes. (that wouldn't be so bad...). Well anyway, whatever it means, a new world is probably on its way, and you need all the Neopoints you can get to destroy whoever this evil mastermind of mastermanical doom is.

Although I myself have had a really cramped schedule this year, once I get out of school, it should make everything a whole lot easier. The following is my failproof method of making more NP:

Beginning the Day
When you first logon for the day, collect bank interest, and deposit/withdraw NP until you get a fairly rounded number such as 350; 3,500; or 35,000 depending on how rich you are already. Then go ahead and do the following activites: Tombola, Fruit Machine, Coltzan's Shrine, and any other daily activites you can think of. Then play a few quick games like Meerca Chase, Destruct-o-Match, Kiko Match II, and Swarm! All of these should up your NP by approx. 1,000 NP. Let's say you have started with 3,500 NP. With this addition, you have approximately 4,500 NP.

What about your Neopets?
Okay, some people are Neopet-Addicts. (Unlike me, because I lead another, exciting, life... kinda) So they want to give their pets a Gourmet Food every day. Well, if you are someone like that, stop reading right now because you won't get any richer like that! Otherwise, you can stop your pets off at the NeoLodge's Cockroach Towers and keep them bloated for only 5 NP a day! This small amount won't make any difference to your current budgeting anyhow. However, stop by the omelette and get a free slice, and store the food in your Safety Deposit Box. I think I've got a year-old omelette in there, and it's still as fresh as could be. (I took a bite. It tastes like, well... hmm...)

Stat Increases
Okay, this is a tricky question. Stat increases are rare to come by. You can get them by EXPENSIVE Neggs, RISKY Kitchen Quests, LONG Mystery Island Training School, RANDOM events, or LIMITED Cap'n Threelegs Training School. The keywords here are expensive, risky, long, random, and limited. Nothing really good. However, there are some easier ways to do so. To my knowledge, if you play Poogle Solitare quickly and well, you'll get a speed increase or an IQ increase for one your Neopets. (If it does other stats, please let me know!) Coltzan's Shrine works well, also. For people who have a Neopet who can be changed easily, try the Lab Ray. I'm in a tough spot myself: I've got a Koi and Krawk, very expensive are rare Neopets. The Gelert and Grundo are free for zapping, but I prefer my Grundo. Once you're rich enough to make a whole lot more Neopoints, try the more famous methods.

For the Few Talented
More ways to make NP include the Art, Poetry, Storytelling, Pet Spotlight, Site Spotlight, and Beauty Competitons. These require good artistic ability and are not reliable. I have only earned two of the above. The Neopian Times would not fit up there, because you do not make NP from it. (Sadly enough, Mr. Editor)

Seasonal Events
On a few days you can make a whole lot of NP because of... gasp... cheaper items! On Tyrannian Victory Day, (Last Sunday) you were able to purchase items for 80% off, while the 3rd of every month is Half Price Day, equal to 50% off, and on March 23rd, 2001, every item was 5 NP! Well, that didn't happen until 5:00 PM or so, but hey, it's 5 NP for some of the rarest items ever! And who hasn't heard of the Advent Calendar in December? Also, sometimes when a war is going on, Kauvara and the Water Faerie will reduce Healing Potion Prices and donate them to the Money Tree.

Spoils of War
Yes, whenever there is a war going on in Neopia, a huge cash sum or something is handed out to the victor. And the people who do the most fighting, get the most cash! Simple, eh? Not so! Wars usually happen when a new world comes out. It's always best to keep a close eye on the News headlines, 'cause when there is a new world there is bound to be great offers, like the Crown Mystery or Usuper! in the Lost Desert. And with rumors of a new world... oh, I can't wait! When there is a war, spend a little extra cash on weapons and stat increases... your poor pets are gonna need it!

Me
There is a rumor that if you give a really rare item to me, like a Fish Negg or Rod of Supernova, I'll be really happy. And isn't that better the a million NP anyway? Of course it's only a rumor... maybe you should try it out? *Hint: I would be happy for a Banana Sword!* *Yum*

Ending your Day
As I end this article, I'll give you a little bit of advice on ending your day. Let's say you started with, I dunno, 3,500 NP and ended with, say, 5,000 NP! Well, you made quite a bit of cash there. Here's what I would do. Do 5,000 - 3,500. You would have 1,500 NP, right? Well, put 50% in your Bank Account, (750 NP) donate 50 NP to the Money Tree (or me) and be a nice Neopian, then spend the rest on the Food Club, scratchcards, Poogle Races, paint brushes, and all the other stuff. Now, 700 NP doesn't seem like a lot to spend, is it? Well, the 750 you put in your bank account, if you do that every day after 1 month it will equal approximately 22,500 NP! Not bad, is it?

Now, if you put all of your 1,500 NP into the bank, that's 45,000 NP a month! Plus interest! One year can equal over 8 MILLION NEOPOINTS! (Wait, let me do that again...) Oops! I mean 270,000 Neopoints at minimum. Got you there for a second, didn't I? I thought it was 8,000,000 myself for a second also, but that would be if you earned 22,500 NP a day. You could only do that if you are A) Unbelieveably lucky or B) Undeserving. I mean hey, I've been on for 1.5 years, yet I still don't have a million.

I hope you enjoyed this article, and don't forget to vote for my pets egold, spacegold, splashgold, and lizzagold in the Beauty Contest. Why? Because my world domination... err, peace depends on it! Bye in every finger till next time!
