The Identity Changing Lab Ray

by richpaintbrushgurl

Many Neopians, when conversation wanders to the Lab Ray, ask, puzzled, “The wha?!?” Very few Neopians actually know of the secret whereabouts of the laboratory. In order to gain access to this unknown place, you must collect all nine pieces of the Laboratory Map. This may be very expensive, but I think it is worth it.

Many pets, including two of mine, are terrified of the lab ray. They fear of melting of away never to see their owner or friends again. But nothing like this will ever, hopefully, happen. The worst that can happen is your pet might lose a level or lose a few hitpoints.

On the other hand, many great things can happen to your pet. Your pet may be zapped into a Faerie Krawk... that would be nice! Your pet can also change gender, from male to female and female to male. I know a lot a Neopians who get very worked up when their beloved red female Aisha is zapped into a male or an entirely different species. If you don’t want that to happen, don’t use the Lab Ray.

I guess I can see why, because my pet, RedSkeithBoy, has been zapped into a female quite a few times. I always just wait and usually he, erm … she gets changed back into a male.

RedSkeithBoy has been altered sooo many times, I really don’t care anymore. I even started a website to keep track of my changing pets.

Many Neopians like to rush out and change their pet back by using a potion of some kind. Why do this and use the Lab Ray? I find it fun to use the Lab Ray once a day. It’s suspenseful.

Yes, back in the days, RedSkeithBoy was actually a male red Skeith. Can you believe it? He (and sometimes she) changed into Lennys, Moehogs, Kikos … of all different colours. He was zapped into a Faerie Kiko just the other day, but since I already had a Faerie Kiko, RedKikoGurl, I decided to try again the next day. He changed into a Christmas Kiko, which I am going to keep for a little while.

Who am I going to use the Lab Ray on now, you ask? Well, if you noticed, I had a pattern going, RedSkeithBoy, RedKikoGurl, RedKauBoy… Kryysta?!? Why Kryysta, you ask, instead of RedNimmoGurl or something like that? Well, I used to have a pet named RedNimmoGurl. Being the good Neopian I am, I decided I really wanted to help all of the pets in the pound. The only problem… I had four pets. I couldn’t take anymore : ( Since RedNimmoGurl had the lowest stats and she was only painted Christmas, I decided to abandon her. I was positive that someone would come along and adopt a painted pet with good stats.

I launched into the business of adopting pets from the pound, painting them with the Lab Ray, and putting them back up for adoption, hoping that a good Neopian would come along and scoop them up. I’ve helped so many pets now, that I have lost count and touch. I have recently started a diary where I have pictures, along with names of my adoptees.

If you ever see a pet with *pound project of richpaintbrushgurl* in the description, that’s me, trying to make a mark in the Neopian world.

So, maybe the next time when Lab Ray sneaks into a conversation, someone will say, “Oh, yeah, the Lab Ray, that’s how I got my Faerie Krawk!”
