The very first part of this story can be found here.
"Okay, whatever you say," my dad said.
When we got to High Street my dad signed us up at the Presidential Palace.
It had everything: a pool, a tennis court, a huge dining room, very soft (and
comfortable) beds, basketball courts, a museum, arcades, an amusement park,
and a bunch more places. As soon as my brother saw the pool, he completely forgot
about me and just threw the shoe box, with me still inside! Lucky for me, I
landed safely without any injuries. I peeked out of the box to see where I am
and a Skeith was coming towards me! I immediately ducked down again where I
might be safe from him. You know how Skeiths are; they eat just about anything,
and everything. I bet he would eat a fish pop (eeww!) if he saw one lying in
his path.
"Dumb kids. They never know where to put their trash," he said as he
picked up my shoe box and threw it hard against the wall and I think I landed
in the trash can, from the smell. The impact was so hard I was knocked unconscious.
During the time I was unconscious, I had the strangest dream ever. I dreamt
that I was in the middle of a forest. I started walking forward and noticed
a well. Suddenly, I was very thirsty and decided to drink the water from the
well. Before I took a drink, the Faerie Queen appeared right before my eyes!
"Hello, I'm here to tell you some important information about… hey! Watch
it up there," she said. I noticed she was having trouble with the rope
that was keeping her flying, like the ones they used in the movie, except this
one was noticeable right away.
"Hello," I replied.
"Well, anyway, I'm here to tell you that you and your brother Shaktar are
on a quest, a Potion Quest."
"Wait, what quest?"
"The Potion Quest, don't you ever listen? First of all, I'm going to tell
you a story."
"I don't want to hear a story now."
"Just listen. Now you must pay close attention to this story because it will
help you on your quest.... Long, long ago, as I remember, there was a village,
called, um, called..." the faerie seemed to have forgotten what she was about
to say.
"May I leave now?" I asked, getting bored.
"No! Anyway, there was this village. It as the most peaceful village ever
built, in fact, their language doesn't even include the words war, weapon, selfish,
greed, negative, or anything of the sort. Everyone in the village was happy
and joyful everyday because there were no worries in that village. Then one
day, the most terrible thing happened to the village, Dr_Death poured the shrinking
potion into the village's well. Everyone drank from the well, without realising
it, and turned into little people like you. He made a lot of shrinking potion
but only one growing potion, for himself, if he accidentally shrank. One week
after the incident, both him and his Growing Potion disappeared without a trace.
And you, you drank one of his shrinking potion. Your quest is to find the villagers
and they will help you grow big again."
"How am I going to find the villager? I don't even know where to start," I
replied but the faerie disappeared before I finished talking. Then I woke up
from my dream. My brother was beside me.
"Oh, you woke up! I am so sorry, I forgot you were in the shoe box,"
he said.
"Right…"
"No, really."
"Really?"
"Really."
"Really?"
"Really."
"Really?"
"YES, STOP ALREADY!!!" he yelled.
Then I told my brother about my dream. He listened very closely while I was
talking.
"Wow, what an interesting dream, but where are you going to find the first
person?" he asked.
"That's what I've been thinking about. That person should be here. Otherwise,
why would they say that the answer lies in 'The High Streets'? Grumble…grumble…"
"What was that?" he said.
"It's nothing more than a gr…"
"You mean there's a Grarrl in here? Quick, where is he hiding?"
"No, not a Grarrl, a grumble, from my stomach."
"Guess you're hungry, huh?"
"You think?"
"Okay, stay here while I'll go and get you some food."
Shaktar went away and went back with a piece of sausage omelette, just the
kind I hate the most. Sometimes I think he's doing this to me on purpose, but
I ate it hungrily anyway, it was the only type of omelettes in the whole hotel.
Then we started to look for clues.
***
We decided to look in the cafeteria because little or not, you still need
food to survive. Even narrowing it down toe the cafeteria doesn't help. This
was the biggest cafeteria ever built in the whole world!
"So, where should we start? Oh, by the way, I'm still getting my comic books,
right?" Shaktar asked.
"Yeah, don't worry. Now, I suggest we look for little holes in the ground."
My brother set me down and started looking for small holes, as I told him to.
"Pssst…" I heard a voice.
"Pssst, over here," the voice continued. I looked at where the voice was coming
from and saw a little Wocky, like myself. I wanted to call my brother but I'm
afraid I might scare the person away.
"Come over, hurry up! The monster is coming to get you!"
"What? Where?" I was terrified so I ran as fast as I could towards the Wocky.
He invited me into his home.
"Whew, that was close. That monster almost got you alive!" he said.
"What monster are you talking about?"
"That monster," he said as he points to my brother.
"Oh no, that's my little brother, Shaktar."
"You are brothers with a monster?"
"No, he's a NeoPet. I drank the shrinking potion, that's why I'm smaller than
him."
"Well, I considered everyone bigger than myself a monster."
"Okay…"
"Anyway, my name is Rong. What's yours?"
"Pardon me?"
"Oh, I forgot, you can't speak Peace. My name is Rong, in your language."
"So it's Rong?"
"Right!"
"But you just said it's Rong." I was confused.
"It is."
"Then your name is Rong?"
"Right."
"OK, OK, let's start over, my name is Leli, what is your name?"
"Rong."
"So, Rong what did you mean by my language?" I asked.
"I came from the village Peace. I'm the only one in the village to learn English,
so that's why I was able to talk to you. My family and I were separated after
we drank the water from the poisoned well, and the next thing I know, I was
transported here. The one good thing that did came out of this was that we're
immortals, we don't age. Do you know that I'm actually 3,792 years old?"
"Well, now I do. Why didn't you ever come back to your family?" I asked.
"A faerie came into my dreams and said that one day a little Kacheek will
come and he will be the only one who can rescue the village."
"So what are we supposed to do now?"
"She did tell me to go to, what was it…, um, I think it was …wait, don't tell
me, I can figure it out by myself…I know, it was for us to go to Mystery Island."
"Leli, where are you?" I heard my brother calling me.
"Look, I got to go, do you want to come with us?" I asked Rong.
"Just a moment, let me pack up my things," he said as he focused on his stuff
and they were put into a bag, ready to go.
"How did you…?"
"Each NeoPet in our village has a certain unique power within ourselves."
We met up with my brother and I introduced them to each other. We went back
to our room and I explained the whole thing that just happened to him. We decided
to ask our parents to take us to Mystery Island. Oh, by the way, Rong and I
got stuck with sleeping in a shoe box, again.
"Dad, can you take me to Mystery Island? my brother asked.
"No, go ask your Mum," Dad said
"Mum, can you take me to Mystery Island?" my brother asked again.
"Did you ask your dad? You know I can't take you," she replied.
"But I just…"
"Go! Go ask you dad! I can't take you."
"Dad, Mum said she can't take me."
"I can't take you either. I just can't. Here's 300 Neopoints, go out by yourself,
it's not far from here, not exactly anyway," Dad said as he handed my brother
the 300 Neopoints
Shaktar said thank-you and went back to our room to tell us what happened.
We prepared everything we might need that night, especially food; my brother
packed a lot of food. He also had 50 Neopoints so we took that also.
