First of all, thanks to bluekat44 for accidentally helping me with this title
of this article.
Second of all, this article is about mainly getting a game trophy and Better
Than You! I'll pick one person. Any person at all. Odds are maybe... 99 to 100
you have don't have a trophy. And if you do, it probably wasn't a Flash Game
Hi-Score, like Ice Cream Factory and Pterattack. And if it was, you're a lucky
man/woman.
So how do you get these trophies? Well, it takes time. You need to find your perfect
game. You don't have to be good at it; you just want to play it. If you haven't
decided, I'll give you a list of games you could tackle.
Alpine Challenge
Bumper Cars
Chia Bomber
Chute
Deckball Survival (Same Game)
Deckball Timed (Same Game)
Destruct-O-Match
Grundo Snowthrow
Ice Cream Factory
Kiko Match II
Korbat's Lab
Meerca Chase
Nimmo's Pond
Pterattack
Whack-A-Beast
Choose one. Write it down. Now, open that game up in another window. And if
you have a program that can operate spreadsheets, like Microsoft Excel, open
that up also. Go ahead, play see how far you can get, and get your score on
paper or the spreadsheet. Play again, and get it down somewhere. Do it a third
time, and you're done for the day. Just keep practising and see how high you
will get. How much do you improve every day? 10 points? 100 points? 1,000 points?
Eventually you'll see how much you can improve each day and how long it will
be until you get a hi-score.
If you're not getting much better, go and visit past Neopian Times articles.
There might be one on your game!
I've found a few games have a similar playing style. You probably will want
to expand how many games you work hard at every day based on these similarities:
Deckball Survival & Deckball Timed & Korbat's Lab (They involve a ball
you hit).
Destruct-O-Match & Chute (They just are similar).
Pterattack & Nimmo's Pond (Almost the exact same game except on is played
going forward, the other is played 360 degrees).
Grundo Snowthrow & Whack-A-Beast (Both require quick reflexes).
Ice Cream Factory & Bumper Cars (Dodge and earn power-ups).
So unless you choose Chia Bomber, Kiko Match II (Which is only similar to Kiko
Match I) or Alpine Challenge (Which is only similar to a sponsor game) you're
pretty much have the chance to expand your skills. There is one other way to
win then getting practice. You're curious, eh? Start playing a game as soon
as it comes out. If you're lucky, you're one of the few talented people who
can earn a hi-score right before the first trophy is handed out. The only downfall
to this is your hi-score will be beaten extremely soon and you won't get your
750 NP daily allowance for as long. Speaking of these allowances you could make
273,750 NP each year. If you have 2 hi-scores 547,500 NP each year. With four
you will make gasp... a OVER A MILLION NP EVERY YEAR! However, the only downfall
is that you're going to have to keep your score like that. And that's only for
the golden trophy, first three places.
Now, for Better Than You!. Occasionally your game or a related game will pop
up. Now that you have practice, you can try and earn that trophy. If you're
lucky, it will be an extremely hard Better Than You! and you can be the first
one and earn: A Rare Item, a Golden Trophy, and 20,000 Neopoints! And if you
did that every week, that's over a million NP a year, but don't get your hopes
up.
That's the conclusion of this article. Now, I hope, you have a Winner's Circle
in Your Bones. |
