Enter Neopia: Part Two

by cjackson151

We walked through the magical city. I had never seen such a world before. There were strange creatures everywhere, selling magical items, having battles, and carrying on conversations. I saw lots of people too, which surprised me. Were they all from Earth too? I grew more and more interested in Neopia Central as we continued. I was just about to ask the Aisha a question when it spoke.

"We're here," the Aisha said, motioning to a HUGE building with the words "Create a pet" written on the front.

As we walked up the smooth marble steps, I wondered if we were going to be creating some weird creatures in an experiment. I was just about to ask the Aisha just that, when my question was answered for me.

"This is the place where all NeoPets come into existence!" the Aisha said.

"NeoPets? Is that what you are?" I asked.

"Yes, I am a NeoPet. An Aisha is a type of NeoPet," the Aisha said. Then it lead me up to a machine. "This machine has data on all NeoPets that exist in Neopia. It'll help you choose what kind of pet you want."

I walked up to the machine. There were many images of different animals on it. I looked at each one. I found out that the bird I had seen earlier was Pteri. I decided not to make up my mind until I saw them all. I somehow felt that this choice would be of great importance. When I saw the Kacheeks, I instantly fell in love with their adorable eyes, but I was determined to see them all. Just when I was sure that'd I'd be getting a Kacheek, I saw a Bruce. It was so cute. "I want one of them," I said pointing to the adorable Bruce.

The Aisha nodded and took me into a long corridor. I passed many rooms, full of different baby NeoPets. When I finally reached the room with the Bruces in it, I was beginning to regret my decision. But the moment I entered the room full of colourful penguins, dancing and skating around their ice filled home, I knew I had made the right choice.

"Well, which one do you want?" asked the Aisha.

"Where do NeoPets come from?" I asked.

"The faeries themselves make them, with pure life magic," the Aisha said, with a deep respect.

There were so many Bruces, each different in their own way. Some were tougher, others were gentle and kind. I was just about to pick a cute blue Bruce, when I noticed a small green one, sitting in the corner, crying.

I can't help it. I am lonely.

"Why is that one crying?" I asked the Aisha.

The Aisha's eyes saddened. "That one is one of the few NeoPets that is born a twin. It's too bad no one even takes them in pairs. This one's brother was picked by an owner just today. Now it's all alone."

My heart melted for the little Bruce. "I'd like that one please," I said, walking towards the sobbing Bruce.

The Aisha's eyes glittered. "Excellent choice," the Aisha said. "Now all you have to do is name it!" she said, leading me to a door further down the corridor.

I clutched the poor tired Bruce tightly. The Aisha got me to fill out a form that said my pet's name and species. I picked the name rather easily.

"I think I'll call you Nickey151," I said, softly. For once she almost seemed to smile as she fell asleep in my arms.

"Now all you have to do is enter Neopia!" the Aisha said. "I wish you luck. And remember, NEVER give anyone your password!" she said, insistently.

"You're not coming with me?!" I asked, alarmed.

The Aisha shook her head. "You’re on your own now." Then a little more kindly, she said, "If you want somewhere to stay for the night, I suggest the Neolodge."

She handed me a brochure. I thanked her and headed off into my new world.
