The Legend
I stared at this beautiful person, wishing she would speak.
"It has to do with something you cannot control or do anything about," she
started, "No matter what I say, you must believe. A long time ago…" There were
the faeries, the NeoPets, and the Neopians. Each faerie and NeoPet and Neopian
had a name. One day Gwendolyn (the dark faerie) was walking in the Lost Desert.
The sun beat down on her neck and face all day and she lost her strength. She
used her little amount of strength to drag her dehydrated body into Sakhmet.
Now at this time Aria (the Uber Air Faerie) was there. She saw Gwendolyn outside
and ran to her. But Gwendolyn was too proud to accept help and cursed Aria so
that she could never love a human. Aria was heartbroken. As revenge, she made
it so that the next time Gwendolyn cursed someone, Aria's powers, and Gwendolyn's
powers would combine and create this new being in the place of the cursed one.
She would be able to be painted, brainwashed and controlled like a NeoPet because
she…was a NeoPet. This being, had no name. Thus, you are here."
I shook with rage and fear. This couldn't be true. It couldn't. I fled from
the room. I could hear the Water Faerie calling to me. Shaharaz the Anubis was
bounding playfully beside me. I scooped her up as I ran. I had to prove it wasn't
true. My heavy gold jewelry slowed me down. The stupid toga was tripping me
up, and my tears of pain blinded me. I felt a thrust in my stomach and stumbled.
I fell to the ground with a thud and clutched my stomach. Agony washed over
me and I fought to stay awake. I tried to speak and coughed up blood. This
is the end, I thought. Confusion and blissful carelessness took over my
mind. A tall figure knelt beside me and said some strange words I couldn't understand.
Then, there was only darkness.
Gwendolyn curtsied coolly to the Faerie Queen and smiled.
"I have the girl," she said. The Faerie Queen waved a manicured hand as if
to wave the remark aside.
"That is not why you are here," her majesty declared.
"Correct," Gwendolyn hissed, "I have come to ask for your permission to do
with her as I please." The Faerie Queen rose from her throne.
"She could be perhaps the most dangerous living thing in Neopia, and you are
just going to… play with her?" she screamed bitterly. Attendants rushed to her
side and mopped her damp forehead with a satin cloth. Gwendolyn remained calm.
"Not to play with her, but train her as a servant and keep her from knowing
her powers. I painted her, like you ordered, so we could control her like a
NeoPet. Now I could use her to rule… Sakhmet for instance." She grinned. The
Faerie Queen arched her eyebrows.
"What did she look like? Why Sakhmet?"
"She is psychic and is an Egyptian princess," Gwendolyn stated. The Faerie
Queen sighed.
"Let the poor girl be. It's bad enough she has to be owned. Let her go." Gwendolyn
shook with rage.
"She is rightfully mine," she yelled. And to herself, "…and Aria's."
"We will see how a shared custody will work. For now, she will live with you.
But I'm warning you, if she finds out and holds it against you and tries to
destroy the…well anyway I will hold YOU personally responsible. Now GOOD DAY!"
With a bunch of fussing and complaining, Gwendolyn started back to the castle.
I woke to the face of Gwendolyn, who was peering anxiously at me. My head
felt thick and heavy as lead. My arms felt as if they would fall off. And my
stomach? Doing back flips of course.
"What happened?" Gwendolyn asked. I blinked away tears.
"Is it true?" she looked at me in shock, then looked as if she could have
destroyed someone. Possibly me.
"Catrii! I will destroy you!" Gwendolyn screamed. I lay totally still. Then she
turned on me. Her violet eyes flashing, her teeth clenched, her hands were tight
white balls. She grabbed my wrist and yanked, hard. I flew off the marble platform
I had been laying on. My wrist twisted painfully and folded behind my back.
I screamed and tried to free myself.
"Oh be quiet!" she screamed at me. The door burst open. In trooped my faithful
pet Magicgirl. I burst into tears. She was still alive! My baby was alive.
"Leave her alone. You better not do it or you will regret It." She snarled.
Peals of laughter exploded from Gwendolyn.
"I don't have to do anything to her. She is already two hours from her demise.
The poison will be too deep into her system in an hour to use the antidote.
Even if it doesn't destroy her, I will do it if I get impatient," she said.
I twisted out of her grip.
"Run!" I screamed. Magicgirl, Shaharaz and I tore through the halls searching
for an exit. I looked left and right and just picked. Gwendolyn's words echoed
in my head. I stumbled, as my eyes saw nothing but dark blurry shapes moving
about. My head crashed to the ground with a sickening crack. I tried to calculate
how much time I had left to get an antidote. I heard voices, three of them.
One was Catrii's.
"Magicgirl, use this. I know it is an antidote. I know it seems strange but
drop her in.," she said. Water rushed over my head and I gasped for air. I thought
I was a goner. Someone dragged me out of the pool and lifted me up. No longer
did I feel controlled and weak, just tired. What was this strange feeling? I
still couldn't see. A strange whooshing sound and I fainted.
I suppose you want to know what cured me? Simple. A Faerie Paint Brush.
The air faerie and Water Faerie forbid me to seek revenge against the dark
faerie. I am not to speak to her, or even consider going on a quest or making
any signs of friendship. This story would have had a happy ending, if it wasn't
for the fact that I had to leave my home, my NeoPets, my shop, and items to
Bubbleina115. She is pretty happy. I am happy for her. Shaharaz and I live with
the air and Water Faerie helping them with quests, the wheel of excitement,
and all the blessings and such. I am occasionally allowed to look in on my former
pets when I am in the market. But Magic_girl and I are forbidden friendship.
The End
Author's note:
This is a fictitious story. None of this ever happened. But it's fun to read
isn't it? |
