Mystery Island, one of Neopia's most treasured lands. Very little is known
about its secrets, but there is more to Mystery Island then what you can see.
I have been researching the island and here is some info:
This tropical island lies 250 miles Southeast of Neopia Central and 120 miles
southwest of "Maraqua" and is inhabited with plenty of NeoPets. Out of the 425,000
NeoPets that live here 58% are Pango tribesmen, 31% are Kougras, 7% Mynci and
4% for all the other pets.
Mystery Island has 6,200 sq. miles of island (approximately 65 miles in diameter)
with a GDP of 240 million. Considering its weather, mild tropical, light showers
and occasional natural disasters, Mystery Island is one of the most ideal places
to live in. *Suggested building material Bamboo*
Even though Mystery Island has plenty of beaches, thick brushes and many hills,
many of its treasures have not been discovered by the average Neopian. Many
who have come to Mystery Island has enjoyed the wind, sand, sun and Sea of Mystery
Island.
Tiki Taku Island
This 2.3 mile swim to the island, located northeast of the main island, is a
tough swim. The Island is filled 3 statues to remember what the Tiki Taku the
warrior did to save the people of the Mystery Island from doom. Each year during
the first day of Hunting (May 1st) natives (Tribe of Pango) from the island
(Cannibal Village) would swim to the island to leave an item as an offering
to their god.
The Training School
The training school is one of the most advanced training schools in the martial
arts or Kung-Fu. Training an average of 50,000 pets a day it's an adequate place
for your pets to train for the Battledome.
Quote the Techo Master
"To me, kung-fu is like a ballet, except there's no music, no choreography,
and the dancers hit each other."
Omaru Bay
This is a must visit when visiting Mystery Island, if you can only visit one
tourist attraction it's this. The bay's arching waves and white sand has captured
the hearts of many NeoPets and owners. Due to the powerful waves here, many
surfing competitions are held here annually. In addition to the warm water here,
it is inhabited with many rare creatures (Peophins and Jetsams) and plants (Golden
Juppies) if you're lucky you might be able to see Ryshu the Nimmo meditating
or maybe writing some poems.
Gadgadsbogen
This special event that occurs during the Month of Running (March) is the festival
of fruits, which old fruits on the island gets replaced with new ones. Each
year NeoPets dress up as fruits and participate in the many concerts and parades
that happen on the island. When the time comes, Cinto Pango, an elder from one
of the Pango tribes, steps forwards with a document proclaiming the new names
of the fruits. Even though there are many arguments with tourists and natives,
during the festival of fruits all the tension is forgotten and is replaced with
the spirit of the holidays.
Flame the Tame (Kougra)
He lives in a haggard and foreboding cave somewhere on Mystery Island. No one
really knows where. One day he has hopes of becoming a volunteer firefighter.
If you see him don't run and be afraid. He's really a nice Kougra. Instead go
read him some books, he can't possibly read books if they tend to catch fire
so often.
Cannibal Village
Most of Mystery Island's Population lives in this village. It has the "Golden
Orb" a Scarlet Stone located in the Tribe of Pango's ancestral monument. This
tribe and the Techo master once set up a quest for Ryshu the Nimmo, in which
he had to retrieve the Golden Orb.
Piku Paku Volcano
In the depths of this volcano holds the volcano crystal the rarest and most
expensive item on the island. Only the bravest of the Pango tribesmen would
dare venture into it and be capable of surviving the descent to the heart of
the volcano.
As quoted from a Tshimba Pango:
"Very scary indeed is a trip into the volcano. Great courage and skill it
takes. But for one crystal in return, to live comfortably for one whole year
my family can afford."
Techo Mountain
Techo Mountain located in the Center of Mystery Island is one of the 16 wonders
of Neopia. Its sheer size is amazing and few people or NeoPets manage to climb
all the way up its extreme heights. It is rumored to have secret passages built
by the ancient Coco's running through it.
Well that's most of Mystery Island. I hope you visit it soon and enjoy the
great tourism. Next time I will be revealing Neopia's coldest world: Happy Valley,
Ice Cave and Terror Mountain. Till then, Happy Exploring! |
