Now, as all of us Neopians know, there are many wonderful games in Neopia -
the NeoPets homepage puts the number at "over 80". Out of all these fantastic
games, there is one that stands out from all the rest, and that is (yep, you
guessed it!) Cliffhanger!
I personally think this is one of the better games in NeoPets, even though the
concept isn't exactly daisy-fresh. (It is, for those who haven't figured it
out yet, based on the old, old, game, hangman.) In fact, this game is probably
my biggest Neopoint-earner besides Kiko Match and Tyrannian Destruct-O-Match.
Ah, I can hear the protests now:
"You need to pay money to play! How good can it be?"
"It's so difficult, how will I be able to win?"
"It's such a time-consuming game…"
"You mean I actually have to THINK?"
Excuses, excuses, excuses. These reasons may seem perfectly sound to you,
but in a few short paragraphs, I shall explode these long-held myths and show
you the path to riches… through one of THE most enjoyable games around.
Money-wise, let's just give this whole payment-to-play idea a little thought.
Consider all the fine things in life. Food, TV, the Net YOU happen to be using
now… they don't come free. Most of the nicer things in life, you pay for. (NeoPets
is an exception, of course. Haha.) So what is wrong with giving a little, to
earn much, much more? besides, you have to pay 50 Neopoints to play a game of
Poogle Solitaire, and I haven't heard a squeak of complaint yet.
Difficult? Excuse me, Ladies, Gentlemen, Shoyrus and Eyries. If we observe
the main Cliffhanger page, we will find 3 options: Easy, Average, and
Difficult. If you find average too difficult because of the limited letter
choices, go for easy, then.
If you find this game too time-consuming, trust me. Just stick with it. Very
soon, you will find yourself enjoying this mesmerizing game more and more, and
therefore worth your while. Besides, it gets easier every time you play.
Now, we come to the good bit: how, exactly, to earn tons of NP?
First of all, for total beginners, start with the easy stage. Here's a hint:
most of the phrases are associated with NeoPets in some way (e.g. Be nice to
Shoyrus or else.) Those who think they can handle it, try average. I really
wouldn't recommend jumping straight into hard unless you are really smart.
Next hint? R, S, T, L, N, E. These 5 letters appear the most often in the
English language. Try these letters first.
The last hint, and probably the best one too, is to HAVE FUN! If you don't
enjoy yourselves, and if you cant enjoy what you're doing, then there's not
much point in it, right? Stick with it, and it'll slowly get easier.
