An Elite Land Quartet Tale: Chiks the Laboratory Chia

by frogspawn213

I am Tad in this story, but my username is frogspawn213. (My full name is Tad Pole). I really enjoy drinking coffee - and, well, just drinking coffee. The Land Elite Quartet is my four pets, Chiks being the eldest and this story is about the struggle of one Chia and how he wishes to put his profession first to help save Chiakind.

Chiksborn fluttered his wings once more. This often gave him a breeze when he wanted to cool himself down when his body temp was too high, as his Little Lab was pretty hot with no windows in sight. It was an adaptation to their original NeoHome where Chiks the Faerie Chia tested different potions and chemical reactions and whatnot. He would study the results of mixing one concoction with another and would try and add to the laws of Science. Indeed, he was a pretty intelligent Chia - as he was probably now a well known scientist. He liked Al the Chia, Al was his inspiration for doing what he did, as Chiks had once been a blue Chia too, but the Rainbow Fountain had changed his appearance dramatically. Chiks had three brothers. They were the younger Fosterseel, or Foster the Christmas Tuskaninny, Bonescratch or Bones the purple Chomby and Aritorx or Ari the erm, whatever he was at the moment. They went on a lot of hazardous treks together, many which have been published in The Neopian Times, but one was how Ari began to mutate every fortnight. He had been adopted as a yellow, then Christmas Buzz, but all four of them confronting Frank Sloth had turned the monkey headed man angry, and he had zapped Ari with a transmogrification spell. He was then a mutant Techo, and then a mutant Chia, but he kept on changing. Tad had a hunch that the lab ray would reverse the transactions, so he could become a normal NeoPet again and stay that way, but they could not afford that until Chiks came up with an amazing potion.

Chiks was in a guild, for Chias, run by his friend he had met over the Internet, Marissa or dancintodamusic, and Chiks was always allowing them to put his safe potions in the shops to give them money in the tills. But recently, Chiks had been losing a lot of sleep over one potion that would change his life forever - indeed, it would change the lives of all Chias. It was a powerful bottled potion, used long ago by the powefullest of Warlocks in the times of unicorn horns and fire breathing dragons, like used in NeoQuest. It would give any Chia within two metres a strong, solid heart, a heart so pure that they would be so assertive to take on the Snowager. (Actually, Chiks and his siblings had done this before). It was designed for his guild, as they were in a great war against Eyries, in which the battlers were good, and it would be a tough match.

"Just got to mix the Ubikiberry Elixir with the - no, that would cause a vibratic encryption - but what if I added That Transmog with the Cauldron Potion - hmm. No - doesn't sound too safe. But, Aha... hold on. What ingredients did I use for that?" he looked sternly at a red, bubbling liquid in which he had created a while before. He looked at the surface, and green Algi could be traced. He pondered over this, stepped onto his short step ladder, and wheeled it across the room. It was usually to help him get a book, but because he was so short, he had to extend it once he reached the book.

"Starting Spells - no, Magical Motes - handy, but no. Papyrus Making? Must be joking - aha! Here we go, Advanced Potions." And he wheeled the step ladder back to his table, and squatted back onto his comfy chair once again, propping his book against a large potion.

"Ah yes. That must be my recent creation, the Algi Mix. But - hold on. Ingredients of my Ubiki Advanced Mix. Hmm..." he pulled up another carton in which he had created before, which contained his Ubiki Advanced Mix, which was an illuminous pink. "It contains - Ubiki - Mango - ooh - Apple Chia Pop, and then Straw. Yes! Any form of sweetened glucose such as the Chia pop with Algi - why didn't I think of it?" and he whipped up another empty carton, and poured half of the U.A.M. into the nose, and a bit of the AlgiMix with it. He was very safety precautious, so he quickly screwed on the cap, to see nothing happen.

"I know!" he chuckled. "Silly me! I forgot the Vinegar! Any good potion needs an acidic liquid to give it a kick start." And adding in the vinegar, to his dismay, nothing happened, apart from the liquid turned a pearly white. He knew the colour had to be a bright silver - and it had to be some sort of a solvent. It just needed a soily taste...

"DINNER!" cried Tad from outside. Chiks nodded, pulled his bib off and tossed it on his chair. Rushing out of his door, he ran through the corridor into the kitchen, where Ari, Foster and Bones were sitting round a table.

"Broccoli and Ham Omelette!" Foster pulled his nose up in disgust. "Eww." And then it hit Chiks. Well, it was actually a moth as it flew past, but an idea hit him all the same. He dug into the omelette.

"Pleased to see your so keen," smirked Tad. He was aghast when Chiks grabbed a bit of broccoli, and ran out the room.

"EUREKA!" was all that could be heard.

The Chia Solid Heart Potion super rare! And it is impossible to find it on the item lookup. Chiks made a recipe for it that is worth millions, but he never wants to sell it. Him and Marissa distribute it to any Chia guild wanting solid hearted Chias, and Chiks finally knew his work had paid off. But he decided when he grew more and more, he was going to be very smart, and continue his research, and maybe one day he could find a cure for his brother, Ari, but that's a different story...
