The Forgotten Battledome

by irishshamrock

The Battledome - one of NeoPets most important elements. Hundreds of people battling each day. Want to know how to get the best out of your battle? Even if your pet has stats below the others, there is still an even chance to win.

Items are the most important thing in your battle. If not items it is the strategy with which you use these items. Both defence and attack items are important. You don't find the best items in the ones that just attack, but the ones that attack and defend.

General Defence:
For General Defence it is best to have a good defensive item. Healing Scorchstones such as red, blue, green, purple, rainbow and jade, although a popular choice are very expensive. I mean, you pay 1 million Neopoints for a rainbow Scorchstone to heal 50hp, when for 3,000 NP you can get an amulet of life which restores you completely to health. If you don't battle often these amulets are a much better option.

The defending Scorchstones are also quite good. The Golden Scorchstone is an exceptional weapon, blocking Grand Lightning Beam and Wand Of The Air Faerie, two of the most popular items in Neopia, it is well worth the investment.

General Attack:
For attacking. You are best to mix and match. One use items are good as they are quick to take away hp especially if your opponent is frozen or low on hp and they can win you a battle, however too many of them can pose a problem if you run out during battle you have no backup items. I have found good items to be: Wand of the Air Faerie, Radioactive Snow, Hydro Hammer and Attack Fork/Grand Lightning Beam. All of these items are great attack as they are constant, more than one use and deal a fair amount of damage.

Items such as Wand/Staff/Rod of Nova, etc.... are also good items, however with the chance of breaking they are non- too reliable.

Attack/Defence Depending On Your Neopoints

Under 100k
If you have less than 100,000 NP you are best to use the Grand Lightning Beam and Attack Fork combination. This deals a fair amount of damage and it also defends well. In terms of defence you are best to use the amulet of life, and if you prefer a Scorchstone the red Scorchstone is probably your better idea.

100-300k
It's probably time for you to invest in a Wand of the Air Faerie. This is one of the most popular attack items as it both attacks and defends a fair amount, it also does not break so that is a big bonus. You might also want to think about a Duel Expert Bow. In terms of defence you can think of a Blue Scorchstone (30hp) or even a green Scorchstone (40hp)

300-700k
Now we can get serious. Items such as Hydro Hammer, snow flame and Thyora's Tear are coming your way. Hydro Hammer gives good attack and defence, but is no better than The wand of the Air Faerie, so keep it. Snow flame is very reliable it has excellent defence and a decent attack too. Thyora's Tear can completely defend you for one round and can be used once per battle. This is good if you know what is coming you can defend freezing. Defence - Purple Scorchstone (50hp)

700k- 2 mill
Now you can get into Hidden Tower Items. Tiki Bomb Bag is good if you have a few freezing weapons as you need one turn to get a Tiki Bomb. You can also get Wand of Flamebolt, etc., which are good attacking weapons but are only in one type. The best defence can be a Rainbow Scorchstone/Thyora's Tear.

2 mill +
NeoPets is your oyster lol....You can pretty much get what you want. Good Luck.

Freezing
Just a quick note on freezing. Freezing is highly important as it can be the difference between a win/loss. Hypno Helmets are 80,000 NP (RIP OFF). Better alternative is a Terror Stone, for 20,000 NP it is highly reliable and a good choice.

GOOD LUCK IN THE BATTLEDOME!
