"Hmm. Yes. The Grundo Gang. Tell me, likkle ones, why were yer following me
ship?"
"Please, your Pirateship, we were attacked by Skipper. He said something about
his brother missing, and asked where to find you. We wanted to tell you this,
sir!"
"Really. That's vary kind o you. But I'm not kind. Grisret!"
A mutant Moehog appeared, and led the crying Grundo Gang to Reylok's ship,
the Jetsam. They would work as galleyslaves.
Back at the Whitewake, Skipper and his crew had a meeting. They knew that Reylok
was on the Island, but they only needed to free Skip's brother and leave. However,
if they found Reylok, they would have to defeat him.
"All right. This is it, guys. Loyale, you act as scout. Find the Jetsam and
report back to Diane. Diane, you stay on board. Defend the ship with the Neggs
and your wand if you have to. Send up a signal if you need help. I will go to
the taverns and shops, looking for Reylok or my brother. Good luck everyone."
So everyone went their different ways, hoping that they would live to enjoy
tomorrow.
Loyale was the first to find any news. As a pet, he could walk around virtually
unnoticed by anyone, and nobody asked him questions since he couldn't talk.
He explored the many ships at the port, and finally found the Jetsam. He noticed
that the only guards on the ship were Skeiths, and very tired ones at that.
They snored louder than a squad of Techos! Loyale slowly crept on board, making
use of his green camouflage whenever possible. As he made his way downwards,
he passed a door with a barred window.
"Who's there? I can tell it's not a pirate, since they walk heavily. Did you
come to rescue us? Who are you?"
Loyale froze. There must be some prisoners inside!
Loyale had discovered the Jetsam's prisoners! Careful not to make a sound,
he jumped onto the door and peered inside. To his astonishment he saw many Neopets
inside, of different colours and species. The one that caught his eye was a small
red Shoyru.
"Loyale! What are you doing here? Where's Skip? You came to rescue us! I knew
you would!"
It was Skip's brother, a Shoyru named Chespe. They had finally found him!
Loyale squeaked at Chespe, trying to tell him that he would tell Skipper where
he was. Chespe understood, and told the others that they would soon be free.
With that, Loyale went to find Skip.
Diane was bored. Nobody had come by the ship, and she had nothing to do. She
opened the Bag of Infinite Neggs and saw a variety of beautiful Negg weapons.
Wow, she thought, nobody could beat us when we use these babies! Little did
she know how soon she would need to use them……
Skipper hadn't had much luck at finding Reylok. He wanted to give him a piece
of his mind, and of his sword. He walked into tavern after tavern, looking for
the evil black Lupe and his band. Finally, when he had just about given up hope,
he found him.
"Yep. I thinks we'll sail again tomorrer. Lots o shops ter rob, people to scare."
Skipper stood in a dark corner, near enough to hear what was said but far enough
to remain unnoticed. Until one of Reylok's crew, the Kyrii from the desert,
noticed him.
"Cap'n! It's that Skipper Shoyru! He was lookin' fer ya at the desert!"
Knowing his cover was blown, he shot a quick fireball from the Fire Sword and
ran out the door. Amid the confusion, Reylok managed to stagger outside and
saw Skip fly towards the Whitewake. He would be paying Skip a little visit as
soon as he got his crew together.
Loyale arrived at the ship first. Diane just asked if he found Skip's brother
when she heard yells of surprise and saw a small explosion inside one of the
taverns, followed quickly by a flying purple blur. Skipper reached the ship
in no time, and quickly told everyone what would be happening.
"Listen, we don't have much time. Reylok knows we're here; he saw me. He will
follow us here, and attack us. We won't win with just us. We need to free the
prisoners on Reylok's ship first. Diane, defend the ship. Loyale and I will
free the others."
"Wait!" said Diane. "I don’t want to stay anymore! Nobody will attack an empty
ship anyway! I'm going with you!"
Skipper felt proud of Diane's determination, but there was little time for
that. The fight for freedom had begun.
Skipper, Loyale, and Diane hurried off the Whitewake and ran towards the Jetsam.
Taking the Skeith guards by surprise, Skipper and Loyale easily defeated them
and took the prison keys. Skip could see that Reylok and his crew were only
a few yards away. They would have to hurry.
Diane had already reached the prison cell and blasted away the lock with her
wand.
"Well, these are useless," said Skipper, looking at the keys he had just taken.
The prisoners held out their chains, and Skipper sliced them with his Sword
of Domar. Each pet took a few Neggs out of the bag to defend themselves with.
Skipper turned to the sound of angry shouts and curses to find himself face
to face with the pirates.
They immediately went into action. Skipper slashed left and right with his
sword, firing off the odd fireball as well. Diane and Loyale were fighting back
to back, knocking out pirates wherever they popped up. Neggs exploded in the
air, raining fire and ice down at the pirate gang. Reylok himself, when he saw
the bravery of the freed prisoners, ran for his life.
Oh no you don't, thought Skipper, as he saw Reylok running down the corridor.
I need to stop him.
And Reylok did stop. He yelped and tried to run back the way he had come, only
to meet Skipper at one end, and Chespe blocking the hall at the other. The reunited
brothers simultaneously used their special Shoyru attack on Reylok, and he fell
to the ground, fainting.
Reylok is now at the Chia police station in Neopia Central. His crew was also
arrested and sent to various locations to do civil service. The Grundo Gang
was charged with misdemeanor crimes and reported back to their Space Station,
receiving just punishment from their superiors. The Jetsam rests at the bottom
of the sea, and the Whitewake is harbored in Faerieland. Chespe and Skipper
reunited and moved their shop there, and Diane stayed as a member of the Faerie
Royal Council. All of the crew, as well as the free prisoners, were awarded
both by the Chia police and the Faerie Queen for their courage and service to
Neopia. Loyale has opened a PetPet training school and is quite a prosperous
pet himself. Order has once more been restored to Neopia, and one less pirate
crew wanders the seas. But in case you pirates are still out there, watch your
backs for the ship with the white sail, and the brave purple Shoyru captain
Skipper.
