I am completely amazed that I got fan mail from my last story, Saving Sakhmet!
It really warmed my heart, and I was so grateful because it gave me the confidence
to write this sequel. I won't mention that much from the last story, but you
should know the main characters from the last story that will be in this one:
Hampshire, a Green Bruce, Aristothonea, my Gold Uni, NewWaveNova, my Green Acara,
Blobster47563 (who we call Hiteru), my Faerie Chia, and Tidal_Beak, my Blue
Eyrie!
Aristothonea got out of bed and sighed, stretching her hoof. She walked over
to her dressing table, where stood rows and rows of Silver Hoof Polish, and
Silver Eyeshadow. Her hair was in all directions, sprayed everywhere.
"I'm sick and tired of this!"
"What?" I asked. "Being Gold? Because I just got a special brush for Gold NeoPets
to comb your hair with."
"Oh, Zelda, not of being Gold, of being-of being pretty."
I, princess_zelda38, frowned. "Well, everyone likes looking nice once in a
while, and you don't even do that much, well, for a Uni, anyway."
"I just-I just feel so useless this way!"
"Well, think about it, but at least let me comb your hair."
"Fine…"
"Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!" screamed NewWaveNova, running through the hall and
knocking over a vase with a picture of an Air Faerie on it.
"Hiteru (Blobster47563) stole my Green Acara Toy, Sandy!" Hiteru flew in on
his new Faerie Chia wings and said sullenly as I made him give it back, "Your
own dumb fault."
"Was not!" Nova was really mad now, and you haven't seen an Acara mad, even
Hiteru thought better of annoying her now.
"What's going on! I was sleeping…" Tidal_Beak, my Eyrie, stumbled in.
"Never mind, I don't want to know," he said before I could answer. "I'm getting
some Wheat Flakes." And he walked down the stairs. I smiled.
"Now Hiteru, about that stolen toy…"
"Yum, Wheat Flakes sounds great, and maybe some Musho Mushy Peas to go with
it! Bye!" Hiteru dropped the toy and ran.
"Here you go, Nova."
"Thanks, you know I don't play that much with her now, but it IS a part of
my collection."
"Sure, anyway, who wants to see the latest report on Maraqua!"
Everyone rushed down stairs, but Ari stayed. "Ari? Well... I have been waiting."
She jumped down the cold stone steps of our Tyrannian NeoHome.
I rushed into our kitchen and turned on the TV as everyone got him or herself
a bowl of Wheat Flakes.
"And now the latest report on Maraqua! A Kiko and Flotsam investigator were
lowered into the churning mass yesterday, to report that they doubted any hope
of survivors. Maraqua appears to be gone forever. This is News-A-Roo, signing
off."
"How sad," Ari said. I nodded, just a month ago we had met a very kind Koi
at the food shop in Maraqua.
"Well, I'm off to read," Nova stated.
"I'm - " Tide began. I glared at him. "Going to do the dishes, it is my turn,
isn't it?"
I nodded. "I'm off to play the Wheels." I handed Hiteru 150 Neopoints, and
he flew up to Faerieland.
"I-I'm going off-to shop at the mall." I followed her, I knew she wasn't going
to the mall, and as her owner, it was my responsibility to take care of her.
She went into her room and stuffed something big into her backpack, and walked
outside of our house. She set up a punchbag and set a special program (it belonged
to the boys, they love to battle) called Fighter9000, it gave fighting skills
to anything, and she placed it into the punchbag, the level at low.
It turned on, and punched Ari hard in the cheek, and I winced. It landed a
punch in her stomach, and she fell back. The next thrust she parried with her
horn. I was surprised, I never figured Ari for much of a fighter. It lowered
it's head to headbutt her, and she flew over it, grabbed it's leg, but it twisted
and punched her out, throwing her down to the ground. She gasped, and it grabbed
her tail and threw her into the tree. I was just about to run out, when she
pressed the stop button.
I smiled, she had done pretty good for a beginner. She bundled it up and walked
back in.
"Good job, Ari," I said. She blushed and hung her head, but didn't bother
to explain, running up to her room.
Ari seemed more like her normal self after that, so I'd thought she'd stop,
but I underestimated her perseverance. She went out every day to practice, and
she lost less and less. She first won on, what was it? A Tuesday.
Ari set it on a lower level, the highest she could master so far. The dummy
made a sweeping kick that knocked her off her feet. She fell down but did a
backbend to get back up. She rolled and hit the ground to avoid a jump kick,
and just as he was passing over her, she kicked him in the stomach, throwing
him onto the ground and they rolled over, a blur, until Ari kicked him off.
The circuit ringed, meaning she'd won.
I gave a yelp and ran out to hug her. She looked embarrassed that I had seen
her, but didn't refuse the hug.
The next day we went to the Neopian Shopping Mall, and I walked into Aisha's
Fine Make-up and Grooming Salon. It had a big sign next to it that said: Perfect
Products for the Perfect Pet!
We walked in to choose some beauty supplies for back to school, and we went
over to a table that said: Back to School Sale! Nova, not a big make-up fan,
picked out some hair styling gel and a tad of deep green eyeshadow to match
her fur. Ari picked up some hoof polish, a silver lipstick and eyeshadow kit,
and a special hairbrush for styling Golden pets' hair.
The boys, Tide and Hiteru, each picked out a brush for their fur. I went to
the owner aisle. I decided on a shirt with a Kyrii on it, and some cool shoes
that had pictures of Unis on them. I snatched up a couple of lipsticks and a
pair of jeans and we all went out.
Next we went to the book shop, where I picked up and Algebra book for each
of them, four Geography Sets, and four bouquets of flowers from the Gift Shop
as presents for their teachers.
When we walked up to the front of the shop, I saw a familiar face.
"HAMPSHIRE!!? What are you doing here!?"
