Holiday Shopping?

by Ldfrostbite

Believe it or not, Christmas is right around the corner. And, if you start shopping now, you'll probably get better prices than if you shop around Christmas time. Why, you ask?

Because Christmas is a huge investment and can make you tons of profit. People are willing to pay lots for that one thing their pet, Neofriend, or themselves has been wanting. If you shop now, you can get the same things for about 10-30 % cheaper. But beware, if an item is in high demand now, it may not be around Christmas so avoid buying WAY overpriced items.

If you are a shop owner, here are some tips to get the best out of the Christmas rampage.

1. Don't overprice items. You can raise the price according to the Shop Wizard, but don't make it outrageous.

2. Try to give customers bargains. Christmas is a time for giving, you know. And it's nice if you could help that poor owner get a nice gift for his pets at a fair price.

3. Keep your shop stocked as much as you can, with lots of DIFFERENT items. I would suggest having at least 10 different things, with as many of those things as you can fit. No one likes to go to a shop for just one thing, and then have to go 5 million other places.

4. Have some toys, food, collectibles, and maybe rare items, to give your shop variety.

5. Keep add-ons at a minimum. People come to your shop to SHOP. I'll admit, I like a few decorations, a background, and maybe some music that you can turn on and off, but if your shop has more dolls than items to buy, it's not a shop.

Here is a list of items that I think will be in demand this Christmas. Please note that this is JUST an opinion.

1. Usuki Dolls. These are in HIGH demand. ALL the collectors want them. Beware, there are EXPENSIVE.

2. Paint Brushes. These are always hot. The most popular ones are Faerie, lost desert, and others. I'd recommend spending a MAXIMUM of 10,000 NP on a paint brush. Remember, you have other things to buy!!

3. Just about ANY Battledome Item. EVERYONE these days is spending time in the Battledome. Better stock up!

4. Codestones/ Dubloons. To get your pet pumped up for the Battledome, of course! These are great gift ideas for Neofriends, and, if you don't fight, you can always sell, trade, or auction them off!

All in all, I think I'm trying to say Be Prepared. Last year I wasn't, and my shop profits went WAY down, because I didn't have any items that people wanted for Christmas. And here's a tip to the poor owners, and Newbies. You can make NP from the Christmas rush without unbuyables! Food is always in demand, and so are collectible cards. Plushies are a good idea too! So find what you like, that other people like to buy. Price it just right, and watch the NP flow in!

But don't forget about the true meaning of Christmas. Be kind, be thankful, be generous. Not everyone is as blessed as I am, on NeoPets AND in the real world. So just remember how lucky you are, and what you can do to help others this holiday.
