SPACE STATION - One day I was walking around Neopia Central. It was a very dreary day so I was
bored. I decided to visit the Space Station to see if Dr. Sloth had any plans
he was cooking up. I walked into the lobby, wondering where to go first. My pets
don't fight in the Battledome, so I didn't visit either the Space Armor Shop or
the Space Battledome. The Space Station wasn't close to as exciting as I thought
it would be.
Just as I was about to leave, I heard someone yelling from behind the door
marked "Adopt a Grundo". Even though I knew that eavesdropping is wrong, I put
my ear up to the door. What I heard came as a great surprise. There are many
ways of interpreting the words, so choose your path carefully.
Dr. Sloth: Our Grundo sales have gone down quite a lot lately. I've been thinking...
Worker Grundo: What, sir?
Dr. Sloth: We need a new color of Grundos. What do you think, Genk?
Worker Grundo: I don't know, sir.
Dr. Sloth: I didn't ask you.
Worker Grundo: Sorry, Sir.
Dr. Sloth: We also haven't been very successful in Advert Attack.
Worker Grundo: I am aware of the fact, sir.
Dr. Sloth: I am feeling a need to take some sort of action...
Worker Grundo: What kind, sir?
Dr. Sloth: I'm not qui -- Wait! I think someone's right outside of this door,
listening to every word I say.
Worker Grundo: But, sir, that's...
That's all I heard. I ran as fast as I could away from the room. Luckily I
made it back to Neopia Central safely. All I know is that its not very safe
for me to go back up there for a long time.
I am very sorry that I had to break the news to you this way, but someone had
to tell you. There are two main things that Dr. Sloth could be up to:
1. Evil: Get together with the creatures from the Gallery of Evil (including
the Spider Grundo, Meuka, and Commander Garoo)
2. Good: Donate to the Money Tree, the Soup Faerie, Tombola, Coltzan's Shrine,
etc. or decide to stop being a super-villain and become a superhero instead.
Which will it be? My guess is as good as yours.
Motives for choice #1:
No clue. I'm not evil, am I? Usually it takes Evil to tell about Evil.
Motives for choice #2:
Dr. Sloth wouldn't be hated or feared anymore (except by villains), Dr. Sloth
would be able to live a happier life in many different ways.
As you can see, if Dr. Sloth has any brain at all, he should choose to become
a superhero. But, of course, we know that Dr. Sloth has to have a brain. Otherwise,
of course, he would be dead and unable to come up with Evil schemes. But, the
thing is, he doesn't know what its like to really be happy or have fun.
That is the problem with some people. They never give others a second chance.
I think that someone should go up to Dr. Sloth and offer to forgive him. The
reason that he is so Evil is (most likely) not because he was born that way.
It was probably because he was neglected as a child, and all of that Hate builds
up, until you can't handle it any more.
Maybe we should hire him a psychologist. He could certainly use one.
Now that you know a little about Dr. Sloth's present, it would be good to inform
you about his past.
Frank Sloth, known as Dr. Sloth, is a brilliant, insane evil scientist who
was probably abused in his youth. He has plotted the total destruction of Neopets
and Neopia more than once. When he came to Neopia in year 2, he was defeated
by the Space Faerie in his attempts to take over. He currently resides in the
Space Station.
Dr. Sloth made creatures called Grundos from some far-off planet his slaves.
He is mutating them into stronger forms to put into his army. He is very clever
and has managed to build many machines, including evil robots, killer clones,
space ships. He owns ancient artifacts with mysterious powers that no one is
sure of, not even Sloth himself.
Whatever you do, whether you think Dr. Sloth is friend or foe, be careful when
you are around him. You can never tell what he could be plotting for his next
scheme.
It may take all of Neopia Central, or even the whole World, but we must confront
this killing machine with what is right, what is wrong, and the differences
between the two. Are you with me? Hello, anyone? All right. I guess I'll have
to try on my own.
Now that I've told you about Dr. Sloth, (before I get myself blown up by him)
why don't I tell you about his partners, so you can arm yourself.
When Dr. Sloth was at his highest point (in Evil), his chief commander was
Commander Garoo. In only three years, Garoo went from one of the lower ranks
to the second highest! No one has a clue why. There are arguments about whether
it was because of Garoo's foul temper, great strength, or something like bribery.
As I said, no one knows.
The Spider Grundo is also working for Dr. F. Sloth. This evil creature used
to be a Grundo, but then Dr. Sloth used him for experiments. Don't go too close
to the Spider Grundo's web. All of those who have ventured there never returned.
The last known of Sloth's creatures is Meuka, a mutated Meerca. Meuka is made
completely from mucus (snot). Why? No one really knows. Maybe Dr. Sloth tried
to make a Spider Meerca, like the Spider Grundo. Don't ask me. Meuka lives in
the Haunted Woods, and has quite a large appetite. If you see a whitish form,
slithering through the trees, then know that you may never see the light of
day again.
Now I have you pretty well armed if you encounter one of these creatures. Not
really. There is such a small knowledge of them, that barely anyone has defeated
any. When ever someone is mean to you, just remember about Dr. Sloth and how
the reason for most anger directed outward is anger directed inward.
