NEOPIA CENTRAL - Neopoints - the center of Neopia. Neopoints are the virtual currency
of Neopia. You can buy food, toys, books, furniture, and other items with it.
To earn this currency, you can do a few various things. You can play a ton of
games and send the score when you think you did the best you can do (or a fairly
good score). You can be a restocker and hang around the shops, grabbing things
that you know are rare and selling or trading them. You can be a trader where
you get rare items from somewhere and then sell them at the Trading Post for high
prices. Or, you can be an auctioneer who stalks around the auctions, offering
bids on almost everything you find and selling it. There are other types of people
that are not here that are still considered a "group".
Then, there are the poor, average, and rich Neopians. You think of rich Neopians
as people who can buy a Darigan Paint Brush and have a few million left over.
People have said that the average is 10,000 Neopoints to 900,000 Neopoints,
which is a very large range. Then, the poor must be the ones, who have under
ten thousand Neopoints, which some consider a very low amount. Instead of your
usual Neopoint article that gives you a list of what to do to get Neopoints,
I'll do two things. I'll share with you a few interviews of willing people ready
to answer a few questions and give you a little list of a few games you can
play. Remember that you don't have to get a really high score to get Neopoints.
Let us start off with the interviews. You'll see a few maybe familiar names
in there, plus mine (yes, I "interviewed" myself). They'll all be answering
the exact same questions so I'll just state the question asked and tell what
the said. These are not edited except for a few spelling mistakes here and there.
The people in these interviews are as follows: trawets12 with "slightly over
a million", userpie with 23,670 Neopoints, ginger23456 with 34,000, choclated
with 1,180,660 Neopoints, and sirussblack (me) with "almost 315,000 Neopoints".
Not all the information in these interviews are accurate as they were done awhile
ago.
Question One: How did you get these Neopoints?
Trawets12 - Games, mostly. In high school we had a lot of classes in computer
labs, etc, so I played Neopets games most of the day. (I wasn't supposed
to, of course, but hey, it's the truth.)
I've tried most of the moneymaking schemes, of course, but haven't really
made much off them.
Userpie - My shop. And for some harmless advertising, there's a cheap Pfish
there.
Ginger23456 - I used to have a lot more Neopoints but I spent them on my gallery
and getting items to put into my Safety Deposit Box so that I could get the
'Pack Rat' avatar. I got the Neopoints by winning Paint Brushes and Petpets
from the Storytelling Contest, finding things like Codestones on the floor and
selling them and playing games.
Choclated - With my shop, looking on the shop wizard, and buying low priced
items then selling them at the average price.
Sirussblack - I've made a lot of my money with lucky lab map finds and sells,
selling codestones, dubloons, and other things, and of course playing my share
of games.
Question Two: Are you big on restocking?
Trawets12 - I've restocked at the furniture shop a bit, but find that restocking
takes too much knowledge, mental effort, and time to be worth it - sitting in
the shops, knowing what to buy and what not to buy, etc. Also although my Internet
connection at school is plenty fast enough to restock, I'm on dial-up at home.
Userpie - No, not too big. I hate it. It's just how I get money.
Ginger23456 - I am not big on restocking. I have tried it a couple of times
but I am not fast enough to get any rare items.
Choclated - I used to, but not anymore.
Sirussblack - I once in a while go to a shop in Tyrannia and get a few items
to sell, but I don't like the idea of sitting around in a shop all day. Besides,
I have dial-up and my computer isn't exactly fast.
Question Three: Are you saving up for something?
Trawets12 - I've been putting my extra NP into my Neohome. So I guess you
could say I'm saving up for a Neohome, but I've been building as I earn, rather
then saving it.
Userpie - Yes, I am. And once I get it, I will splurge it immediately. My
last lab piece. I bought my 8th today.
Ginger23456 - I'm currently not saving up for anything.
Choclated - To complete my cake gallery, but I don't think I will be finishing
it...
Sirussblack - I'm currently saving up to get all nine lab pieces, but I still
want 100,000 more Neopoints to have something extra after I splurge.
Question Four: Do you want more Neopoints than you have currently?
Trawets12 - Most people do, don't they? The only reason I would appreciate
more Neopoints is that they give more interest, though - but I'm perfectly happy
with a steady stream of 313 NP per day as an income. I try to keep my account
from going below 1,000,000, though, for the interest. (I currently have 1,141,997
NP in the bank).
Userpie - Just 5k... need 5k to get the last one. But after that, yeah.
Ginger23456 - Yes. I would love to have more Neopoints than I do now.
Choclated - No, I don't need any more.
Sirussblack - I'd love to have a few more spare Neopoints to jingle in my
pocket. As I stated before, I want to have about 100,000 left after I buy my
lab pieces and I'll build up from there!
Question Five: What are some tips you can give to other people about earning
Neopoints?
Trawets12 - Play games. Especially the ones from which you can get a lot of
NP per minute you spend playing. And read the article section in the Neopian
Times - there's a lot of good advice there. I hear restocking and playing the
stock market are the way to go if you want to earn lots, but I've never had
them work for me.
Userpie - Games like Meerca Chase are fun and rewarding. And only send score
if you get 3/10 the highest you can.
Ginger23456 - My tips about earning Neopoints are playing games the maximum
amount of times you can play them, which is 3 and by only sending your scores
when you have decent points (Some good games are Meerca Chase, Volcano Run,
Turmac Roll and Ultimate Bullseye), by entering competitions such as the Storytelling
Contest, Poetry Contest and Art Gallery, by restocking if you have a fast Internet
connection and know what items are rare and what are not and opening your own
shop and selling everything that you find.
Choclated - Use your shops! They are a good investment. The more items you
have in your shop at a time the more people will be attracted.
Sirussblack - Play games such as Meerca Chase, Destruct-O-Match, Kiko Match
II, and an assortment of other easy and fun games that will get you Neopoints
easily.
Now, a short list of games that are good for you to play each day for a few
simple Neopoints, plus a few things you should do a day, game or not!
Meerca Chase - As interviewees have stated, Meerca Chase is one of those games
that are fairly simple. I'd recommend not sending the score until you have over
a hundred points, which isn't that hard.
Destruct-O-Match - This is a very simple game. Though it doesn't have as good
of a payoff, you can still earn Neopoints from this fairly simple game. Because
you're not timed, you can do one of two things. You can just click on the pretty
colors and watch them drop or you can make a planned strategy. Remember that
each time you play the block order is different!
Kiko Match II - This is a fairly easy timed matching game. You match up the
pairs of Kikos in the time period given. Though this game gives an okay payoff,
you may want to have a lot of time for this as sometimes games can drag on and
you can get frustrated and quit.
Hannah and the Pirates Cave - This is a great payoff game if you're good at
it. Trust me, it's not as hard as it looks. Have you ever played an in-depth
adventure game? This is just about what it is! To get the biggest payoff, always
play the tutorials as you get points from that too! You can get 500 or 600 points
easily! Still, the maximum Neopoints you can earn a day is 1,000, but that's
still a large number.
Escape from Meridell Castle - This is a very hard game unless you practice.
In the beginning, send almost every score you have. Remember to slay almost
all the monsters and attempt to get all the stars. You must keep in the back
of your mind that you can do anything this game throws at you. Also, when levels
start, don't be looking at a car passing by as monsters do come at you and can
dispose of you! After playing and practicing for a few days, you should only
send scores over a hundred so you can get two hundred or more Neopoints!
Advert Attack - This game is nothing more than a real fight with the evil
pop ups! You "X" the boxes that show up. Be careful not to click somewhere else
on the box, as another screen will pop up. The screens get bigger and bigger
as you go along the level line. Behind the pop ups, there is a GO button to
make your ship move. This GO button gets harder to click as levels go on. All
in all, this game has a great payoff and follows the scoring of Meerca Chase
- you score is your Neopoint amount.
These are only a few games in Neopia to get you cash. You should play as many
games as you can. Also, many of the sponsor games have a very good payoff, so
you should play a few of them. Remember each day you should collect your interest
before putting Neopoints in your bank account, or taking things out. Other things
to do each day are Coltzan's Shrine, the Fruit Machine, Tombola, the Giant Omelette,
and Potato Counter, to name a few.
I hope this guide helped you a lot! Any questions can be Neomailed to me,
sirussblack. I will be sure to answer them personally.
