"LDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDFFFFFFF!" Tymide shrieked, running into
the living room where her owner, LDF, was lying on a couch half-asleep.
"TYYYYYYYYY!" MaxCanine, her Lupe brother, ran
after Ty, clutching a water balloon. "YOU MESSED UP MY COLLECTION OF RIPPED
CHIA PLUSHIES!"
"MAAAAAAAAX! GET BACK HERE!" Leinnea, a blue
Shoyru, flew in, holding snowballs from the Battledome. "DON'T YOU DARE THROW
THAT AT, TY! ESPECIALLY IN THE HOUSE!"
"I suppose you'll be shouting, too?" LDF yawned,
glaring at a yellow Gelert who just walked into the room.
"I don't really have anything to say, honestly,"
the Gelert replied, helping herself to a piece of candy lying in a bowl.
"Then do you know what's happening?" LDF asked
her, picking up a chocolate from the bowl as well.
"Ty was hanging around Max, and Max wanted to
wrestle, but Ty flew out of the room, knocking over the shelf of ripped Chia
plushies Max has. They ran outside, and Max filled up a balloon with water,
and then they came back in. Max threatened to throw it at Ty when they were
running around in Lei's room, and then Lei grabbed some snowballs from my closet,"
the Gelert sighed, sucking on the watermelon flavoured candy.
"Do you think I should sort this out, Alie?"
"Eventually they'll stop. But eventually can
be a while, so, yes, I think you should."
"Hmm… grounding seems a bit harsh. Maybe not
letting them come to the Chocolate Factory with me to buy candy for Halloween?"
LDF raised an eyebrow at the Gelert, swallowing the chocolate.
"It doesn't seem like they would mind," Alie
answered, standing up. "But you do need to sort this out before they tear the
house apart."
"Good idea," LDF grinned, throwing away the
wrapper. "I guess you all will come with me, but Max and Ty don't get to pick
anything… That and I can't leave any of you in the house alone. Except, maybe
you, Alie, but then again you're coming with me."
"My pleasure, LDF," Alie muttered, walking out
the front door.
~~~
"Lei, Alie, what do you think the people want this year?" LDF asked, looking
at the various candy upon the shelves.
"Well, we don't usually give out all of it…
because you buy too much," Alie peered at the watermelon pieces with interest.
"So buy a bit of each, except the blueberry jellybeans. Max coughed up one the
day after. I think it might still be under his bed…"
"Oh! Don't forget to buy some Neodrops, too!"
Lei grinned, looking into a barrel of pre-packaged Neodrops. "And the Gummy
Quiggles, too!"
"Why not just buy a bit of everything?" Max
suggested, looking at a bin of Chocolate Chias, ranging from milk chocolate
to orange.
"Or just about everything," LDF answered, picking
up a bit of everything from the shelves.
"That'll be around 6,000, miss," the Kiko at
the counter said, bagging all the candy and chocolate.
"Here you are," LDF answered, handing a large
amount of money over.
"Doing your Halloween shopping a bit early,
eh, miss?" the Kiko smiled, handing the owner and the four pets a few bags.
LDF nodded.
"Well, it's a good thing, too. I've been hearing
these weird noises coming from the factory, and I'm afraid that the shop might
be closing for a while soon."
"We can go investigate," Alie piped up, gnawing
at a toffee apple. "I brought my snowball club this time. Maybe it's the Pant
Devil, trying to steal your candy to put you out of business?"
"I'm not quite sure," the Kiko answered in a
hushed voice. "But whatever it is, it's bad for business."
"We'll take a look after we stop at home to
put these away," Ty answered. "I might as well bring my snowglobe staff. We
haven't had a good adventure in a while…"
~~~
"Sure is dark in here," Max whispered, tiptoeing into the dark factory.
"Well, the Kiko left when we came here," Lei
replied. "He must have turned off the lights. Luckily I brought my Moon Staff."
The Shoyru waved her staff, and a yellowish light emitted from the ball.
"Whatever's in here, they must like jelly,"
Alie said disgustedly, wiping blue jelly from her Lost Desert Dagger. "Wait
a minute -- jelly?" Alie grabbed Lei's Moon Staff, looking at a large amount
of blue jelly on the wall. "There's only one creature I know who has blue Jelly.
That's because he's made of blue Jelly."
"You mean the Jelly Chia, right?" Ty blinked,
poking the jelly with a claw. "Heehee, it's squishy!"
"Shut up, Ty," Max hissed. "We don't know if
he's in here or -- HEY!" A large amount of blue jelly hit his face.
"HEY! YOU JELLY- THING! YOU CAN'T DO THAT TO
MY BROTHER!" Ty shouted, whacking the Jelly Chia with her Snowglobe Staff.
"You do know that you're not supposed to do
that with a Snowglobe Staff, right Ty?" Alie stared at Ty, who grinned innocently.
"What? How am I supposed to know?" Ty continued
grinning then carried on with whacking the Jelly Chia with her Snowglobe Staff.
"You worry me, Ty," Alie answered, rolling her
eyes.
"I shall be back!" the Jelly Chia shouted, bouncing
off into the darkness of the factory.
"Do you think he's going to get some of his
pals?" Lei asked, grabbing her Moon Staff from Alie.
"Maybe" was the only word that issued from Alie's
mouth for the rest of the time they were in the factory.
~~~
"What is his motive?" the yellow Gelert sighed, sitting at her desk with only
a lamp on, the door closed and the blinds shut. A soft knock caught Alie's ears.
"Who is it?"
"Only me," Ty's voice came from behind the door.
"LDF made cookies, but they were a bit burnt, so I made a new batch. They're
ready anytime, and LDF managed to pour some milk before dropping the carton."
"Be down in a minute," Alie answered, grabbing
a book labeled "The Jelly Chia".
Downstairs in the kitchen, Max dumped a tray
of burnt cookies into the garbage can. "LDF, we need to send you off to a cooking
school or something. You can't keep trying to burn down the house."
"Or maybe Ty should teach you how to cook, and
not how to burn down the house," Lei grinned, seeing that the Blue Eyrie had
walked flew down the stairs to the kitchen. "Excellent cookies, by the way,
Ty."
"Superb," Max grinned.
"Really, Max, who says 'superb'?" Lei asked,
grinning. "At least say 'excellent' or something… that's a bit not… old."
"Shut up, Lei."
"Alie?" a claw poked at the Gelert's head. "Hey!"
"What? Huh? Oh, what is it?" Alie asked, dropping
her chocolate chip cookie on her plate.
"What's up?"
"Not much…"
"That's not what it looks like," Ty answered,
pointing at the Gelert's face. "You look a bit worried."
"It's just… why did the Jelly Chia…?"
"Why was he in the factory?" Max completed,
shrugging. "Who knows?"
"Well, I want to," Alie answered, picking up
the cookie again. "Maybe we can stop it before it happens."
"He never really gave us any kind of clues,"
Ty added, dipping a cookie into a glass of milk. "So why bother?"
"Try asking my brain that," Alie shrugged. "I
guess I'm just really stubborn like that. But maybe-" Alie stopped, dropping
the half-eaten cookie again. "THAT'S IT!"
"What's it?" Max asked, looking at the excited
Gelert that was his sister. "You're freaking me out with that look, too, by
the way."
"Talk later! Grab your stuff!" Alie shouted
quickly, running up the stairs to get some things.
~~~
"Why are you dressed as that Draik from Escape from Meridell Castle?" Ty asked,
raising an eyebrow at Lei.
"Well, I look like a Draik more then you…" Lei
started. "Plus, wielding a Fire Sword is cool. I could also ask the same for,"
Lei looked over at Max, "him."
"What?"
"You're dressed as Jeran!"
"What? Jeran is cool!" Max glared, slipping
his plastic sword into his scabbard. "Well, at least I'm not dressed as a color
you can be painted as," Max added, casting a glance at Ty.
"Pirate Eyries are awesome," Ty retorted. "Plus
we don't have enough for a pirate paintbrush."
"Stop bickering, you three," Alie stared at
her younger siblings.
"Oh yes, lets all listen to the NeoQuest Hero,"
Ty shook her head, stifling a laugh.
"Shut up and follow me," Alie rolled her eyes,
gripping her dual Lost Desert Daggers. "He's in there."
"We're just revisiting the Chocolate Factory
on Halloween," Lei blinked, holding a bag filled halfway with candy and chocolate
and a Fire Sword. "It's not like we're on a mission or something."
"You're right, but still. If he hears us --
HEY!"
The Jelly Chia bounced past, grabbing Alie's
bag of candy. He snickered, bouncing away.
"GET BACK HERE WITH MY CANDY!"
"Oh, that's mature," Max rolled his eyes, looking
at Alie chase after the Jelly Chia.
"We'd better follow her," Ty added.
~~~
"GIVE ME BACK MY CANDY!" Alie shouted, kicking the Jelly Chia.
"WHY SHOULD I WITH YOU FOLLOWING ME AROUND?"
the Chia retorted, bouncing along the walls.
"Honestly, why do you want it?" Alie asked calmly,
staring at the Jelly Chia.
"Honestly?" Alie nodded. "I really have no idea.
I just wanted to…?"
"Well… if you come with us since we have about
half the neighborhood left to go, we could grab you a bag and bring you some."
"ALIE!"
"HEY! ALIEEEEEEEEE!"
"Max? Ty? What are you guys doing here?" Alie
asked, grabbing her bag from the Jelly Chia.
"We came to… rescue, maybe?" Lei shrugged, looking
at the Gelert to the Chia.
"Nah, he's okay," Alie answered, poking the
jelly. "He's just got a lovable interior, and a squishy exterior." Alie giggled,
giving a piece of chocolate to the Jelly Chia.
"So, I'm guessing we're buddies?" the Jelly
Chia asked, blinking.
Lei nodded, shrugging again. "I guess so."
~~~
"Now… how about all of us going back home and stuffing ourselves with candy?"
Max asked, grinning.
"Sure," Ty grinned, adding, "Tomorrow we can
all be sick in bed from eating too many sugary substances."
"Just say candy, will you?" the Jelly Chia asked.
"I might as well go back to the Factory. Thanks for all the time with you… I
guess?"
"Yeah," Alie smiled. "Will you join us sometime
in the future?"
"Like I said before, I guess."
~~~
Ty moaned. "I guess we did stuff ourselves with sugary substances."
"Candy, yes," Max moaned next, rubbing his stomach.
"I wonder how," Lei moaned as well, "the Jelly
Chia is doing." Lei burped, blushing. "'Scuse me."
~~~
"Ohhhhh…" the Jelly Chia moaned. "I wonder how the others are doing…" He moaned
again.
Oh yes, and one more thing…
Happy Halloween!
The End
