Sheila Moo the pink Kau was sitting at her office desk.
She sighed. She was sitting at her office for more than an hour with nothing to
do. Usually she had to do paperwork, but she finished all of hers in less than
an hour.
Sheila Moo was a member of the Secret Hero/Heroine
Agency (S.H.A.). It was a group of Neopets who tracked down and captured jailers
who escaped from prison; or stop bad guys from doing their plan of taking over
all of Neopia; etc. You could say it was a lot like the Neopian Private Intelligence
Agency.
Just when she was about to fall asleep, the
president of the S.H.A., a male human, burst into Sheila's office. "Sheila Moo,"
he said in a very serious voice, "I want you to catch a shadow Eyrie who has
been stealing from all stores at High Street. Return all of the items she stole
to the correct places if you can. Got it?"
"A SHE?" Sheila asked in surprise. "Can I have
a picture of her?"
"Sorry, but we don't have any pictures of her
available," he answered sadly. In a brighter tone, he said, "Do you need a sidekick?
"Yes, please," Sheila replied. "And now, come
to think of it, do you have any gadgets that I might be able to use?"
The head of S.H.A. nodded. "Kacheeker Kim -"
"NO! Not Kacheeker Kim!" Sheila shrieked.
"He's the only agent we have here right now
that's eager to help."
"What about Ashley McGee?" she asked desperately.
"And Flora Flotsam? How about Krum Bat?"
"They all caught the Sneezles."
"Great," Sheila muttered. "Just great. I get
to be stuck with Kacheeker Kim."
"Don't look at the dark side," the human said,
and tossed Sheila a few gadgets. "Here -- I'm sure these gadgets will be helpful.
Good luck, Sheila Moo!"
Hmph! Sheila thought. I won't have
any luck with Kacheeker Kim around.
***
"Thanks for the ride!" Sheila said to the vice president of the S.H.A. Sheila
Moo, the vice president of the S.H.A, and Kacheeker Kim were here.
"You're welcome," the vice president
of the S.H.A. replied. "Good luck!"
Sheila and Kacheeker jumped off, and
Sheila landed safely on the ground after she pressed the button that released
a parachute.
"Kacheeker!" Sheila called up, her hooves
cupped around her mouth.
"AHHHHHH!" Kacheeker yelled as he landed
on a rock. "OW! That hurts!"
"Kacheeker," Sheila asked sternly, "what
did you do this time?"
"Uh... I forgot about my parachute, Sheila,"
Kacheeker answered slowly.
"That's not unusual for a forgetful sidekick
like you," the pink Kau said to herself.
"What?"
"Nothing. C'mon, let's go find this shadow
Eyrie and get this over with," Sheila instructed while walking to High Street.
"Coming!" Kacheeker ran to catch up with
Sheila. "What are we going to do once we find this thief?"
"That's obvious: we're going to catch
her, dolt."
"How, and what's a dolt?"
Sheila felt like killing Kacheeker. "A
dolt is an idiot, just like you," Sheila said, annoyed. "How?" she sighed. "I
don't know yet."
"Well then, think of a plan," Kacheeker
suggested.
"Duh," Sheila said. "Now, will you please
be quiet while I think of a plan?"
"Okay dokey."
"JUST BE QUIET ALREADY!"
Kacheeker nodded. Sheila thought, Maybe I
should use some of the gadgets. "Are you done thinking?" Kacheeker asked
after ten minutes. "I'm getting hungry now."
"We'll get to High Street very soon,
" Sheila said calmly. "And yes, I'm almost done thinking. It just depends where
we find her."
In two minutes, the two hungry Neopets
stopped at the Food Shop.
"I want to buy an Cheese Sandwich for
forty Neopoints," Kacheeker said. "Sixty," the shopkeeper said.
"Forty."
"Fifty."
"Forty."
"It's a deal," the shopkeeper said as
he gave Kacheeker the cheese sandwich. "Sheila!" Kacheeker called. "Do you have
an extra Neopoint I could use?"
"Sure," Sheila replied. "Catch." She
threw the Neopoint in the air, but before Kacheeker could catch it, a shadowy
figure swooped by and caught it so fast it looked like it didn't do it. Then
it whizzed out of the store without stopping.
"It must be her!" Sheila exclaimed. "Kacheeker,
get moving!"
"But Sheila, I need to eat."
"No you don't. Just pay for your food
and go."
"But I still need another Neopoint,"
Kacheeker whined.
"Didn't I give you one?"
"Yeah, but that... that creature took
it when it raced threw here."
"Ugh! Here, take my Neopoint and GO."
She threw it in the air, and this time the Bread Master caught it.
"That's all you need to pay me, kid,"
the shopkeeper said, and handed Kacheeker the cheese sandwich.
"Let's get moving," Sheila said as she
grabbed Kacheeker's paw.
"Okay," Kacheeker said eagerly. Both
Neopets exited and walked to the Neopian Bazaar.
"Uh, Sheila, isn't that Eyrie supposed
be at High Street and not here?" Kacheeker asked.
"Get real," Sheila snapped. "She's probably
either at her secret hiding place or stealing more items without we knowing
it."
"Oh. So, where are we going to go?"
"Let's split up. You look around this
street, and I'll head back to High Street and search for her there."
"Sure," Kacheeker said, and watched Sheila
run back to High Street.
While Sheila was sauntering around High
Street, she thought about the shadow Eyrie. She might be in disguise now that
I've seen her, she thought. I better be extra careful. I hope Kacheeker doesn't
find her.
Sheila then caught sight of an old rainbow
Eyrie with a walking cane. She was wearing glasses and was walking slowly.
It might be her, she suspected. Out loud,
she yelled, "I've got you now, thief!"
The rainbow Eyrie looked surprised. "Me?"
she asked. "I'm not a thief. I'm just an old grandmother to an egregious shadow
Eyrie."
"Really?" Sheila asked suspiciously,
eying her. "What's your granddaughter's name?"
The old Eyrie laughed. "He's my grandson,
not my granddaughter."
"But do you have a granddaughter by any
chance?"
"No," the grandmother said, and sighed
sadly. "I always wanted one, though."
"Oh," Sheila said, disappointed. "Well,
bye!" The pink Kau turned and started to walk off.
"Goodbye, sweetie," the old rainbow Eyrie
said with a cough.
To be continued...
