Ty
A burning smell filled my Eyrie beak as I looked up from
my copy of The Neopian Times. "I hope that's not dinner…" I muttered to myself,
throwing the paper down and running to the kitchen, where a pot was emitting
black smoke.
"LDF!" I shouted to my owner, running outside
to grab the hose. "What happened?"
"I was cooking dinner! That's all!" she shouted,
waving her hands frantically as I turned on the hose.
"WHAT DID WE TELL YOU TO DO?" I shouted, as
the fire Scorchios burst through the front door, running into the kitchen to
put out the fire.
"Um, not to cook?" she smiled weakly, running
into the living room, where Alie and Max were.
~~~
"But I was just trying to cook!" LDF(lost_desert_fan) frowned, staring at
us with teary eyes. "You guys don't let me do anything, and I am the owner!"
"Yeah, but you'll burn down the house…" Max
muttered, rolling his eyes.
"I heard that Max!" LDF glared at the green
Lupe, who looked away. "I wanted to do something special for you guys."
"We appreciate it and all, but you just can't
cook," Alie, the Buzz, put a paw onto LDF's shoulder. "Just leave the cooking
to me or Lei, we can handle it."
"And they don't make the fire Scorchios come
every week…" Max added quietly.
"MAX!" Lei, my Shoyru sister, shouted, glaring
at him. "Leave your comments to yourself…"
"Listen, why don't you spend the day with me
tomorrow, and I'll tell you what we… dislike that you do for us," I smiled,
hugging LDF. "You guys can train," I added, looking to my older siblings.
"Yeah, we'll buy some codestones tonight, after
we grab some dinner," LDF stood up, grinning.
"Where are we going?" Lei asked, flying out
the door.
LDF grinned at me as the others left the room.
"Oh… just somewhere special…"
~~~
LDF
"I still don't get it, Ty," I muttered, staring at the clouds under my feet.
"Why exactly are we in Faerieland?"
"Well, did you want to go to Mystery Island
and be overheard by the others?"
"Not really."
"Well, this is more like you and me spending
the day together. You've spend a lot more days with Alie, Max, and Lei, because
they're older then I am, and you've been with them more."
"I see. But still, why Faerieland?"
"Terror Mountain's too cold, the Lost Desert
is too hot, and everywhere else it's raining."
"Oh."
"Now, since there's nothing better to do today,
let's try and do one of Jhudora's Quests," Ty pointed to a purple cloud, where
a Dark Faerie was shouting at a pet and their owner.
"YOU WERE LATE!" Jhudora screeched, as the owner
and his pet ran off, screaming.
"Are you sure?" I asked, looking uneasily at
Ty.
"Yes," she grinned, walking over. "Plus, we're
only on Quest 24. How hard could it be?" she added, as I stared at her.
"Quest 24? Already? That means she'll ask for
something out of our limit!" I shouted, running after her.
"Well, its better then staying up in the house
all day…" Ty muttered.
"What do YOU want?" Jhudora snarled, glaring
at the both of us.
"What you're here to do," Ty answered coolly,
staring at Jhudora.
"A tone like that won't get you anywhere!" Jhudora
screeched. "But I might have a little something for you to do…"
I stared at Jhudora, who was looking around.
"Are you sure you know what you're doing?" I hissed to Ty, who nodded. "Well
I hope you do…"
"Get me a rainbow Scorchio plushie!" Jhudora
screeched.
"A RAINBOW SCORCHIO PLUSHIE?" I shouted, grabbing
Ty by the paw and rushing her over to a spot where Jhudora couldn't hear us.
"A RAINBOW SCORCHIO PLUSHIE! IS SHE OUT OF HER
MIND?" I shouted.
"It's only about 100,000 NPs," Ty muttered.
"BUT THAT'S ABOUT A MONTH'S WORTH OF SAVINGS!"
"Stop shouting, LDF. I'll just tell her we won't
be able to do this quest. And stop looking at me like that," Ty added, as I
glared in her direction.
"You're back already?" Jhudora shot a glare
at us.
"Well, yes," Ty muttered. "We'll not be able
to do this quest." I nodded silently, looking away.
"You won't?" Jhudora continued glaring, gripping
her wand. "I ask for a simple, cheap, rainbow Scorchio plushie, and--"
"IT'S NOT CHEAP!" I shouted, a surprised look
across Jhudora's face. "IT'S ABOUT 100,000 NEOPOINTS!"
"If you don't want to take a chunk out of your
money, very well then," Jhudora muttered. "But you will have to pay the price,
though!" She pointed her wand at us, which emitted a bolt of green light.
~~~
Ty
"WHAT DID YOU DO?" I shouted, waving my hands frantically, staring at Jhudora.
"Wait, I have hands?" I shouted, staring at where my front paws used to be.
Jhudora grinned evilly, looking over at a Blue
Eyrie, who was still knocked out on the ground.
"Wait, that's supposed to be me!" I exclaimed,
staring at the Eyrie who was getting up.
"What the?" the Eyrie looked at me. "Ty? Why
am I in your body?"
"Miss Darkness over here changed us," I rolled
my eyes, looking over at Jhudora.
"What do you mean changed?"
"As in switch bodies… so I'm in your body, and
you're in mine."
"That's confusing."
"Well, not really," I muttered. "Jhudora's spell
changed us, meaning that we switched bodies. So I'm in your body, and you're
in mine. Meaning you're an Eyrie as of right now, and I am a human, as of now."
"That's still confusing," LDF blinked, looking
at me.
"Oh nevermind," I sighed. "So, how exactly do
we switch back?" I asked Jhudora, who stared back.
"Don't ask me," she muttered. "I only know how
to switch, not change back," she added, shrugging.
"Yeah, and Snorkles might fly someday," LDF
rolled her eyes, walking over to me.
"They might," I pointed out, as Jhudora slammed
her door behind her. "You never know, Snorkles might get to be painted Faerie
someday," I chuckled, walking away from Jhudora's Cloud.
"I just thought of something," LDF said, stopping.
"You were actually thinking?" I put on a fake
face of disbelief. "No way!"
"Very funny, Ty," LDF muttered, shaking her
head. "Since the others are training, they don't know."
"Wouldn't it be easy to just tell them?"
"You're right. They might notice something weird,
so let's just play along with them until they finally guess what happened,"
LDF grinned.
"There's just one thing."
"What?"
"Mina. She knows my scent, and she'll follow
me in your body. But Mina sort of likes you, so that might not be a big deal.
So, never mind."
"Why'd you bring up the subject then?"
"Why do you ask so many questions and stuff?"
I asked.
"I don't know. Let's just drop the subject."
~~~
LDF
It had been weird for the first few hours. Getting used to walking on 4 legs
was quite a challenge, but somehow I mastered it. Ty actually didn't have trouble
walking on 2 legs, so I found that quite astounding.
Alie, Lei, and Max never suspected a thing,
until one night, when Ty tried to cook.
"What are you doing, LDF?" Lei asked, as Ty
pulled down a pot from the cupboard.
"Making dinner," Ty answered simply, grabbing
a box of pasta.
"You're making dinner?" Alie stared at Ty, who
nodded. "Call the fire department, then, when you set the pot on fire."
"I'll try not to," Ty muttered, pouring some
water into the pot and turning the stove on.
"LDF's actually making dinner!" Max hissed to
Alie.
"Who knew the house would burn down so soon,"
Lei sighed, shaking her head.
"You never know," I whispered. "She might not
actually burn the food."
"Are you being sarcastic, Ty?" Max looked at
me, as I shook my head.
"No, I really think she can do it this time."
"Well, how much do you want to bet on it?" Max
replied.
"I wasn't planning on betting."
"I was joking," Max sighed, shaking his head.
"You worry me sometimes, Ty."
"You worry me too, Max…" I muttered, walking
over to the kitchen, where Ty was busy adding salt to the pasta.
"Hey, Ty," Ty grinned, as I glared at her. "Want
to try some of the pasta? You'll like it."
"It sure is a bit salty, isn't it?" I asked,
after swallowing some. "But it's pretty good."
"You actually like it? Yay!" Ty smiled, hugging
me. "I'll just finish cooking it, then it'll be ready. I also made some vegetarian
meatballs to go with it," Ty smiled again. "Just pasta by itself isn't enough,"
she added, pointing to a pot where a few meatballs were sitting in tomato sauce.
"Dinner will be ready in 5 minutes, so go wash your hands, guys."
"Doesn't LDF seem a bit… well, more like Ty?"
Max hissed to Alie, who nodded.
"And Ty is acting like LDF," Lei added, as the
doorbell rang.
"I'll get it," I shouted, opening the door,
to find the Faerie Queen in our doorway. "Hi, Fyora," I stammered, looking at
her.
"Could I please speak to you and LDF? Preferably
alone?" Fyora added, looking at Alie, Max, and Lei, who were staring at her.
"You heard her guys, go on and eat dinner. We'll
catch up," Ty shooed the others into the dining room, while Fyora, Ty, and I
went to the library.
~~~
Ty
"I came here to ask you what happened with Jhudora a few days ago," Fyora asked,
pacing around the library.
"She switched us," I answered simply. "She cast
a spell, there was green light, and then we were switched."
"And then she said that she didn't know how
to change us back," LDF muttered, shaking her head.
"She actually doesn't," Fyora looked at our
surprised and shocked expressions. "The only thing that can change you back
is, well, there really isn't anything. But the spell will ware off in a couple
of days."
"That's a relief," I laid back in my chair.
"But I also thought that you came here to change us back," I added.
"None of our magic can do that, in fact, I don't
even know if any magic can. But it does ware off, so you'll be alright."
"So… how many days exactly?" LDF asked, blinking.
"Just about 4 to 7 days. About a week. It's
been 3 days already, so there's about 3 days or less," Fyora answered. "But
there is a way to make the spell last longer, and we are trying to prevent that."
"Erm, 'we'?" I asked, looking uneasily at Fyora.
"The other Faeries and I," she replied simply.
"We are trying to prevent other… evils from trying to keep you the way you are."
"But we're not famous or anything. How would
they know about us?" LDF asked, looking anxiously at Fyora.
"They just know about everyone and anyone,"
she sighed. "Well, I must be going now." I nodded in her direction as she clapped
her hands together, and in a puff of pink smoke, she was gone.
"What was that about?" Lei asked, when we entered
the dining room where they were finish up their dinner.
"She just wanted to talk to us," LDF said, putting
pasta onto her dish.
"About what?" Max asked eagerly.
"Well, we were in Faerieland today, and…" LDF
started.
"…And we asked if we could get a discount on
Hidden Tower weapons," I invented, stabbing some pasta with my fork. "Of course,
she came here to say not to ever do that again."
"Uh-huh…" Alie muttered, leaving the table with
her dishes. "Couldn't she just do that at the Tower?"
"No?" LDF muttered, staring at Alie as Lei and
Max left as well.
~~~
LDF "Don't you think we should just tell them?" I asked Ty, the day after.
"That's what I asked in the beginning."
"No you didn't!"
"Yes I did. I said, 'Wouldn't it be easy to
just tell them?' and then you said, 'You're right. They might notice something
weird, so let's just play along with them until they finally guess what happened.'
Then you grinned."
"You remember too many things," I muttered,
shaking my head.
"I can't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday."
"You make me wonder," I sighed, shaking my head.
"Hey guys!" Ty shouted from the bottom of the
stairs. "Can you come down here?"
Alie and Max ran down the stairs with Lei flying
above them. "What is it, LDF?" Lei asked, landing in front of me.
"First of all, I'm Ty," Ty said, walking around
the room. "And that's LDF."
"You must be kidding, right?" Max asked, looking
from Ty to me. "You're Ty," he pointed to me, "…and your LDF," he pointed to
Ty as he said this.
"No," I stood up. "We were switched. I'm in
Ty's body, while Ty is in mine."
"That's why we've been 'acting' like each other.
Well, not really acting, because we were being ourselves," Ty explained.
"And that's why 'LDF' can cook, because Ty was
actually cooking," Alie chuckled as I glared at her.
"I can cook! Just not well!" I shouted, continuing
to glare at her.
"We all know that, LDF, because you tell us
all the time…" Ty sighed, looking at me.
"Then… how exactly did you switch?" Lei asked,
looking curiously at the both of us.
"Long story short, Jhudora," I muttered, shaking
my head. "The spell's supposed to ware off sometime today."
~~~
Ty
"But then again, I can keep that from happening," a voice said from behind.
"What? Who said that?" I looked around.
"I DID, YOU FOOL!" the voice screeched, as I
whirled around to see Jhudora, her wand pointed at me.
"A bit over the top, aren't you?" Alie muttered,
shaking her head.
"SILENCE!" Jhudora shrieked. "YOU!" she shouted,
pointing to LDF. "YOU AND HER SHALL REMAIN LIKE THAT FOREVER!"
"Jhudora is crazy, what else is new?" Max muttered,
shaking his head.
"I SAID SILENCE!" Jhudora shrieked, but LDF
ran over and grabbed her wand. "GIVE ME BACK MY WAND!"
"LEI! HERE!" LDF shouted, throwing the Wand
to Lei, who flew up and caught it.
"What exactly am I supposed to do with it?"
Lei exclaimed, looking from Alie to LDF to me.
"Just aim it at her and do something!" Alie
shouted, as Jhudora flew up to meet me.
"TAKE THIS!" Lei shouted, pointing the wand
at Jhudora. A flash of white light emerged from the tip, and Jhudora fell to
the ground, a small pile of dung.
"UGH! YOU FOOLS!" the pile of dung screamed.
"Why does it seem that we turn evil… things
into dung?" Alie looked at Jhudora, the pile of dung, who was screaming.
"I don't know," I laughed as I looked at the
pile. "It's just funny!"
~~~
LDF
"It's a good thing that I'm back to being a human again, although the experience
was pretty fun," I leaned back on the sofa, yawning.
"Having 2 legs was weird… but it was fun!" Ty
smiled, sitting on a beanbag chair.
"Let's just hope LDF won't make dinner, and
Ty does. That was good pasta, Ty," Alie grinned, glancing at me.
"What are we going to do with Jhudora?" Lei
asked, looking at the pile of dung that was sitting in a cardboard box on the
coffee table.
"Give it to Shankly?" Ty suggested, laughing.
"We always do though," I muttered, staring at
the box.
"But he always likes it," Max added, staring
at the pile of dung who was screaming angrily.
"Let's just give to Fyora," Alie leaned back
in her chair. "She might now what to do with… it."
We all laughed, as the pile of dung screeched
loudly and angrily.
The End
Author's Note: Jhudora didn't actually turn into dung… it would be funny
though XD And yes, for some strange reason, I have a weird obsession of turning
things into dung and giving them to Shankly. Well, at least my pets do. I can
cook. Sort of… Well, not really ^_^; I haven't burned down the house! Yet… o_o
