Situated 250 miles to the southeast of Neopia Central, Mystery Island is a tropical isle whose exotic foods and adventurous safaris have made it a perennial favourite of tourists. In fact, as a means of promoting tourism, the one totem fee for ferry rides to the island was recently waived. Now, ferry rides from Neopia Central to Mystery Island are free to all.

Approximately 65 miles in diameter, most of Mystery Island's population is situated within Cannibal Village, home to the Tribe of Pango. Among the island's treasure of beautiful beaches, the most popular is gorgeous Omara Bay, which lies along Mystery Island's northeast shore. Despite attempts by Neopian real estate developers to establish resorts on Mystery Island, so far protests by the cannibals of the Tribe of Pango have generally quelled such efforts. As the Island Mystic puts it, "A great place to visit is Mystery Island, but for you to live here we wouldn't want."

In addition to the Tribe of Pango, Mystery Island is also home to a substantial population of Kougras. Despite the fearsome appearance of their sharp claws and teeth, Kougras are generally even tempered and kind. It is even believed by some that Kougras can bring their owners good luck. However, if angered Kougras have been known to be ferocious and tireless combatants.
