Faerie of a Distant Realm
By Anjie

Starlight sings its softest call,
The moonlight realm's serene.
The sky is dusted with the stars,
Bright planets can be seen.

In outer space all seems so calm,
And here, she makes her home.
A faerie's realm in moonlit glow,
Where idle stars do roam.

In space she is the guardian,
The one who keeps the peace.
Villains who do hear her name
Soon wicked actions cease.

On starlit nights, if one goes far,
You'll see her drifting there.
A figure standing all alone,
With starlight in her hair.

Her lower form doth fade away,
And mixes with the night.
A dark cascade, a silken sheath,
So scattered with starlight.

Neopia seems far away,
A distant, distant dream.
The reaches of the deepest night,
Lit up within her gleam.

And all that dwell in furthest realm,
Do know their worlds secure.
Under the eye of Space Faerie,
Shall peace grow and endure.

The Story of the Bonfire
By Stargazer0010

Let's all gather by the bonfire,
The only light in the deepest night.
Neopets chatted around the fire,
Sharing their stories with delight:

Long time ago, deep in the Haunted Woods,
There was an Aisha who had lost her way.
She had come on a trip with her family,
but she had somehow gone astray.

She tired after wandering for a day,
After many hours, darkness had come,
She had nothing with her except her lyre,
Which she took out and began to strum.

Her music flowed through the deepest night,
The notes came out delicate and strong.
Her heart was lost in her beautiful music;
She hardly noticed that a Korbat had come along.

The Korbat said that he wanted her instrument,
And for it, he would make her a bonfire,
The light would guide her family toward her,
And he would be satisfied with her lyre.

The Aisha was swayed and agreed to the deal,
A bonfire was made; she was happy too.
Soon after, the lost Aisha was found,
"If it wasn't for this bonfire,
We would have never found you!"

Now the Neopets danced around the bonfire,
Knowing that the moral of the story was true:
Not only was the bonfire a lot of fun,
But it also saved a life or two.

This Is Faerieland
By Del_tigre

Shimmering pools of crystal health,
a brightly coloured wheel of imminent wealth,
graceful winged creatures offering quests in stealth,
this is Faerieland.

Bursting white clumps of fluffy cloud,
a beautiful queen to whom we have bowed,
purple palace standing proud,
this is Faerieland.

A bookstore containing ancient lore,
shimmering turrets over which to soar,
a hidden tower with its secret door,
this is Faerieland.

In this world, surrounded by grace,
I know that I have found my perfect place,
away from the constraints of time and space,
this is Faerieland.

The Revenge of the Shadow Usul
By Hamstergirl224

Her quarry rounded the corner,
In shadows concealing the creature,
She lay in silent wait,
For the Kougra to make an error,
And make a fault he did.

The villainess moved in
And relieved her victim
Of a trinket that was spare.
She knocked him in the streets
And vanished into the air,
The Revenge of the Shadow Usul.

She then hid in the depths
Of the darkness that did not reveal
The location of the evil maid.
Patiently she stalked
Her newest victim, naive,
Who was innocently strolling
Down the streets of the square.

The shopping bag in hand
Contained a necklace far too rare
For her to retain for long.
A sinister figure loomed before her;
The young lass did run in fear
And dropped her precious bag
That she had held so dear.

The creature laughed in triumph;
Without a finger moved,
She stole the greatest treasure
The Usul had ever dared.
She snatched it away
With a glimmer in her eye,
For she had accomplished
The Revenge of the Shadow Usul.

A Broken Wing
By Mithril_mithrandir

She was disabled right from the start,
Hatched with a wing that had broken apart
And never did heal, despite the years' pass;
A constant great pain left her fragile as glass.

It riddled her childhood with sadness and tears,
Ridiculed for it as she was by her peers,
Flightless, they'd called her: cripple, weakling,
Laughing and pointing as tears came streaking.

So easily picked on, so hard to defend,
So gruesome to see, and thus lacking friends,
Missing out on the thing she yearned above all:
The freedom of flight, to soar up so tall.

But she was doomed to live forever on ground,
A Pteri, deprived of flight, earthbound;
And no matter her wishes, her hopes, her dreams,
The sky was much farther than it first had seemed.

Ten years turned to twenty, to fifty, and more,
And when she knew death was knocking her door,
In a last desperate effort to be truly free
She forced her old limbs to climb a tree.

Perched so precariously upon that top branch,
She looked up at the blue where clouds danced,
And the Pteri suddenly knew this was it:
This was her day to triumph and in the sky flit.

Crumpled wing hanging limp at her side,
She was determined that at last she would fly;
So great was her will, so earnest, so true
She spread her wings wide, caught a breeze...

And flew.
