SHOYRU DAY SPECIAL

Shoyru Pride
By Indulgences

The Shoyru was released with pride
One fine Spring day, eight years ago.
A contest to Create-A-Pet
Crowned one submission "Best in Show"!

Since then, the Shoyru has not changed.
Its button nose is still intact.
Its twinkling eyes and little wings
Are still a cute and cuddly fact!

Some say the Shoyru's dragon-like,
But others say it's more unique.
The Shoyru is, well, Shoyru-like!
It loves to fly, its wings are fleet!

It's first in popularity,
According to the Neopets site,
And makes up over six percent
Of pets created! (Six, that's right!)

The Shoyru pops up now and then
When playing Neopets TCG.
Its special element is Air,
Which makes a lot of sense, you see!

The Shoyru's Day is April 2,
So celebrate that day in style!
Go train your Shoyru's stats for free,
And on that day, please wear a smile!

Silent Shoyru
By Reggieman721

The silent Shoyru floats above
A sea of gently waving grass.
His wings flap softly in the breeze,
His eyes are fragile pools of glass.

No language does this creature use,
But that of Mother Nature's tongue.
No words he speaks, and yet he dreams.
His mind is wise for one so young.

The silent Shoyru drifts and sways
Like gentle Koi in ocean blue.
The air is cool, a liquid lake.
He swims in ways no others do.

There is no song that can be heard,
And yet this Neopet doth dance.
As stars shine in the midnight sky
A visitor might catch a glance.

A glimpse of this silent Shoyru child,
Who floats above the sea of grass.
Here a moment, gone again,
As lengthy shadows wane and pass.

Torshac, Shoyru Scout
By Kitokat_mh

Sweeping through the dark, still night,
Monitoring the silent skies,
Listening out for unknown sounds.
Spying with his watchful eyes.

There's no escape when Torshac's near,
He will see where you've been hiding.
Lurking just around the corner,
He will hear what you're confiding.

Like a dart he'll rip through the night,
Stopping at nothing to find you.
Never failing to hit his target,
Giving you no time to wonder what to do.

He works hard to earn his way,
Seeking money for his tales.
He'll stop at nothing 'til he's rich,
And he'll persist even if he fails.

Torshac the Shoyru Scout is near,
So hold your tongue and hide your fears,
Because secrets are never safe,
When the night has eyes and ears.

Shoyru of the Darigan Citadel
By Anjie

A nightmare in the vicious sky,
On wings of darkness, does he fly.
Crimson gaze, alight with glow,
Observing all who dwell below.
No beast with wings compels such fear,
As when the Shoyru's flying near.

The winds around him howl and crowd,
He'll slice through idle, lazy cloud.
That tail flicking far behind,
As through the night, he'll fly and wind.
A vision in the midnight gleam,
Indigo, his form doth seem.

A spy of Darigan, it's said,
A rumour told with fear and dread.
None will speak ill when he's around,
As a fiend, he is renowned.
The flap of leather, onyx wings,
As to the wicked breeze he clings.

An idle loop, survey the land,
Then massive wings once more expand.
Upward launched, the Shoyru glides,
On rapid winds, he quickly rides.
To Citadel and shadowed gate,
Where Darigan will always wait.

A Shoyru Vision
By Laurelinden

The day was grim and dreary-dark
As listlessly I lay;
The clouds were as a silver sheet
That smothered light of day.

The wind was cold and bitter-harsh --
Its touch was ice, severe;
And not one bird sang out a song...
Not one sound could I hear.

The grief within me churned as if
It was some water-tide;
A crashing wave within my chest
That never could subside.

But then it was I saw a sight --
A vision, faerie-sent --
That set my sluggish heart to beat
And cut short my lament.
For there above, three Shoyrus flew
Pure grace in the cold air,
Outlined by the silver clouds --
Below, I could but stare.

Their strong swift wings and gliding turns
Seemed effortless as dance;
I felt my heart begin to swell
And race, as if entranced.

A moment, just - no more, no less -
But that was all required
To give my weary, grief-dark soul
The hope that it desired.

For how could I, after having
Flying Shoyrus glanced,
Be unstirred when they sang above,
With sunlight where they danced?
