But had no luck
They never ate
And had no toys
They signed up with all the sponsors
But that was not enough
So now, the pet is here
Someday, the owner will come back for it
But for now, it is waiting
Waiting alone,
In it's dark cramped cage
What the abandoned friend needs most
Is a friend to help him through
Someone kind, someone caring
Someone to love him,
And tuck him in at night
Someone to feed him
Someone to play games,
And be home to read
And that someone

This story may seem odd to you,
yes positively strange,
but all the same I'll tell you it,
it's in the 20 second range.
I bought my pet a pet of his own,
the package said "Pet Rock,"
although I didn't fully realize,
it didn't move or blink or talk.
The "Pet Rock" was exactly that,
a solid piece of stone,
and when I found out for myself,
you might imagine I would groan.
On my way to returning it,
the box glowed orange before my eyes,
and when the lid flew off the box,
I was equally as surprised.
Out popped the once immobile rock,
it bursted down the road,
and only when it made it home,
did it finally slow.
It wanted to stay, it wanted a friend,
and he turned out to be very kind,
so permission was given for him to stay,
and that is the story, turned into a rhyme.

The Floor That Keeps on Giving By spiffycat

In Neopia
There are evil creatures lurking
Who love sneaking up on you
Whether you�re playing or working.
They�re cruel, they�re mean
And a dreadful sight,
And they give my poor Neopets
Such a terrible fright.

There are demons and monsters
And spooky white ghosts.
They think it�s amusing
To take my neopoints,
Over 50 at the most.
But money is not
All that they seek,
They raid my cupboards
And pester my darling Kacheek.

I don�t know what they
Could possibly want or do
With my stereo, my smoothies
And that bottle of shampoo.
Luckily something in Neopia
Keeps me from going insane.
I used to take it for granted
Because it appeared rather plain.

But now there�s
Absolutely nothing I adore,
As much as I adore,
Well, the floor!
Who would have thought
It would give me such a treat?
Why I�m talking about
What�s directly below my feet!

You see, everyday
As I wander around,
I find cash and food
Right on the ground.
Of course I pick it up,
It�s what I learned in school,
Finders keep, Losers weep,
Isn�t that the rule?

Fine, call me selfish,
But understand this,
My pets would not go on living,
If I passed up the floor
That keeps on giving.

Flight By lassmile

As I walk through the Neopian Square,
I wonder in awe where the Faeries live,
I stare in the sky and see the glittering stars,
I wish and hope upon the brightest one,
For wings to fly where the Faeries play,
And frolic giving quests all day,
Then I see a shooting star,
Coming right at me,
The sparkles land in front of me,
"Alas! A Light Faerie!" I exclaim,
She gives me a quest for those Cool Shades,
I go into my pocket
And remember I bought them today,
I give them to her,
She smiles and gives me a paintbrush,
I say goodbye and then I realize,
That right before my eyes,
Is a Faerie Paintbrush,
So I run through the main part of Neopia,
Into The Rainbow Pool,
Give the Kacheek my paintbrush,
And dip myself in,
The water so cool,
As I get out,
I realize I have Faerie wings,
And I fly way up into the sky,
And smile down on my NeoHome,
As I wave goodbye.

I don't want to fight in the Battledome.
That Garrl has a Attack Fork.
They really hurt!
Don't you even care?
I thought you loved me!
I thought you cared for me!
But no.
I am going to get hurt,
but you dont even care.
All you care about
are your little Neopoints.
You never give me toys.
You never feed me.
You only feed me
on days I am going to fight.
If I win, you get Neopoints
and I get nothing.
If I lose,
you take away one of my toys
and sell it.

Now I am on the stage.
Fight! Fight! I hear.
The mean looking Grarrl
raises his Attack Fork.
I attempt to freeze him
with my Red Frost Cannon.
My attemps fail.
His attempts work.

Now I am walking
to the Healing Springs,
knowing that right now
you are selling my favorite toy,
my Red Bouncy Ball.
