JETSAM DAY SPECIAL

Me and My Jetsam
By Rain_e_days

He gnashed his teeth as I stared at him
Through the Neopian Pound.
I looked at him, he glared right back,
Still not emitting a sound.

I tried a small smile, but still he insisted
On wearing a mean, ugly frown.
No matter my efforts
The Jetsam refused to come up
or even back away down.

Someone came by and set eyes upon him,
He cackled and giggled with glee,
That poor little chap, he shrank right back,
From that madman who was tall as a tree.

At this I stepped forward and held out my hand,
Beckoning here where I stood,
The Jetsam came to me
and grasped my hand tightly,
As hard and as gentle he could.

He came over with me to the adoption counter,
I said to the Uni, "I'll take him, if you don't mind."
He gazed up at me in adoration and love,
His smile so one-of-a-kind.

So now the Jetsam's my own Neopet,
I've cared for him over the years.
I fed him and clothed him, I read him some books,
I helped to dry all his tears.

Still, of course I love my other young pets,
They're cute and cuddly too,
But my Jetsam's the best, I love him a lot,
I love my Jetsam - how about you?

The Jetsam
By Navybrat10

He's sleek and sly,
There is a roaring fire in his eye,
He is going for the first swim,
He will swim until the sun will dim.
He is excited yet scared,
his mother swam and then she stared.
"Are you coming?" asked she.
"Why, yes!" he declared.
He is happy,
He is here... his new home
He is now fed, played with, and loved!
He likes it there,
It is nice,
But yet we may not see like others,
We must still love...
live...
and breathe...
Like a Jetsam.

The Lonely Swimmer
By Gidjey01

The Jetsam swims in a group of one.
The Jetsam feels this is no fun.
This Jetsam hates to swim alone.
This Jetsam sighs and lets out a moan.

If only he could break the rules
And, like the fish, swim in schools.
All he wants is to have a friend,
So that his LONELY swim comes to an end

Why must he pretend to be tough?
When will he say he's had enough?
Should he challenge the King on his throne
So he will not have to swim alone?

He needs the nerve to stand up strong.
He needs a friend to tag along.
He is approaching the Jetsam King
To ask why the rule is such a dreadful thing.

"King Jetsam," he says, "are you a fool?
All of us Jetsams want to swim in a school."
King Jetsam replies, "Solitude makes you fierce,
So that when you are seen, fear you will pierce."

"What makes being lonely such a bad thing?"
Is the one question asked by the King.
The Jetsam replies, "It gets kind of boring,
And I fall asleep and then start snoring!"

"Don't be ridiculous," orders the King.
"I have never heard such a preposterous thing."
Then all of the Jetsams join the protest
To help the brave Jetsam put this rule to rest.

The King yells out to all who rebel.
He raised his voice loud, almost as to yell.
He told them to hush so he could make a new rule,
"All of you Jetsams can swim in a school."

The King was upset, the crowd rushed with glee.
The Jetsams were finally happy and free.
The brave little Jetsam who made this happen
Was the head of the school; he became captain!

My Jetsam
By Dark_skulls2

My Jetsam, he is hard as nails,
In the Battledome he never fails,
Fast as lightning,
Superbly frightening,
Oh, how he loves the Battledome!

He also loves training in the gym,
Because this increases his chance to win.
Therefore he trains all day,
So needless to say,
Oh, how he loves the Battledome!

Before battles he suits up in all his gear.
And when he steps out in the Dome and sneers,
Sometimes the other Neopets start to fear
That the fight coming may bring them to tears.
Oh, how he loves the Battledome!

Whatever the result, lose or win,
My Jetsam always leaves with a grin,
Because he loves to partake,
In the battles for enjoyment's sake,
Oh, how he loves the Battledome.

Spectre's Winning Game
By Anjie

Suspicion lurks thick in the air,
This game makes trust run thin.
A massive Jetsam takes his seat,
Cards shielded by large fin.

Expression bland, he scans the room,
Each weakness will he seek.
For Spectre holds the title here,
He's on a winning streak!

With practised calm he makes his move,
Two cards on pile set.
The Jetsam gives a toothy grin,
He's not been beaten yet.

Another round, another hand,
He flicks down a stack of three.
Brucey B stands in firm rage,
"You Cheat!" he squeals with glee.

The Jetsam's gaze does narrow now,
He's fuming by this stage.
"What did you call me?" does he hiss,
His fists in balls of rage!

The Bruce, no fool, it so would seem,
Shall quickly take his seat.
One glance at Spectre's glinting jaws,
And no one dares scream Cheat!

And with his winnings tucked away,
The Jetsam waves a fin.
When one is large with glinting teeth,
You don't need skill to win.
