The Tricks of Rubber Ducks
By Keikotoriyamacatnip

Every night I hear the quack,
Nervously waiting for the attack.

I hear it swim this way.

More and more come flocking in,
Thousands of little, evil grins.

More swim this way.

Bathroom light flicks off and on.
My only bar of soap is gone.

Soap bubbles float from the water.

Glowing eyes seen from below,
The dark water that ebbs and flows.

My bathtub starts to shake.

Bubbling suds fill the room,
Yellow bodies in water loom.

Are they coming for me?

The running starts and I scream,
Ducks abound in my dreams.

Was it even real?

Stirring from restless slumber,
My brain is all but free from plunder.

The bathroom light turns off.

I reach the bathroom, all is still,
All is fine right until...

I hear a quiet quack...

One step more, yellow can be seen,
A rubber duck in tub so clean.

The duck seems to stare.

I scratch my head, most confused,
Turn around, the duck amused.

Another quack escapes.

Spinning around to find,
No more duck, I'm losing my mind.

Where is the rubber duck?

When back in bed, I close my eyes,
No more quacks to my surprise.

A quack echoes in the night.

Since that night I sleep no more,
Rubber ducks fill me with horror.

Never trust a rubber duck...

Ode to Achyfi
By Mithril_mithrandir

Achyfi, Achyfi, I like it a lot!
I drink it cold, I drink it hot --
In spring, in summer, in winter and fall,
Achyfi is the drink for them all!

Achyfi, Achyfi -- I could do a dance!
Neocola does not stand a chance.
Ask around, and then you will see,
Eveyone likes Achyfi, not just me!

Achyfi, Achyfi, flavors to choose!
They are all so good, you cannot ever lose!
There is apple and carrot, ice and lime,
Achyfi is my favorite drink of all time!

Achyfi, Achyfi, such bubbly bursts!
The perfect thing to quench your thirst!
With extracts of leaf and natural root,
It is almost as rich as a pirate's loot!

Achyfi, Achyfi, no doubt it is the best!
With this drink, you will not need to rest!
Coffee of the future, that is Achyfi --
Bitter concoctions -- say bye bye!

Achyfi, Achyfi, drink up your fill!
The can is a design called anti-spill,
The pattern -- so swirly, so bright!
Achyfi, the new night light!

Achyfi, Achyfi, joy in a can!
Icy cool, so you do not need a fan!
Achyfi, Achyfi, the end of the song:
Achyfi: the stuff we have praised for so long!

Sakhmet Petpet Stall
By Draggonberry

Traveling through a storm of dry sand,
A landscape so ragged and rough.
Stop, catch your breath in the midst of the desert,
For travel by sunlight is tough.

Come to the walls of the glorious city,
Castle's form standing so tall.
Find your way through the mass, it's quite busy today!
Finally, the Petpet Stall!

Peopatra, shopkeeper so kind,
Greets as you come in through the door.
It may be a bit smelly and a little bit warm,
But, oh my, it's Petpets galore!

Sutekh here grumbles and stomps 'round your feet,
While the Horus sits high in his form so discreet.
A Crystacat jumps to get out of the way,
Peopatra says, "We got a big shipment today!

"Might I interest you in a young Taweret?
He's been hugging customers all day!
I swear, it's getting quite annoying right now,
and yet I can't make stop or go 'way.

"The Seti, energetic he is.
His hoofprints are all over town.
But he'll do you no good if your Neohome is small,
Bumping into things and knocking them down.

"Turtmid, always frightened, he hides.
Nuk's nasty temper, flaring so loud.
And the Ettaphant, confused little problems are.
So hard to find a Petpet that makes you feel proud!"

But you look around and say, "What about him?
Is that a Djuti I see, roaming shy?"
In minutes you emerge from the stall with a smile,
Djuti at your side, sweet latest buy.

The Magic of Neopets
By Kirbyairide1234

Fire, symbol of strength,
the everlasting warmth of life.
The flaming Gelert rises and
howls into the dancing flames
that so encircles him in
the flashing colours of red, blue and green.

Water, symbol of purity,
splashing life into the
Neopian world.
The Uni looks into the water
and sees a Neopet of great beauty.

Earth, symbol of life,
growing to satisfy the inhabitants.
The Meerca frolics into the forest and
nibbles on the Negg it makes
with its magic.

Air, symbol of freedom,
whispering its winds into the souls
of Neopets.
A Shoyru spirals into the air
and dances with the wind.

Darkness, symbol of fear,
putting extreme suspense for
challenges to be challenged.
The Draik hunts its pray and
pounces out of the darkness and
waits for the scream of fear.

Light, symbol of hope,
sparking into the darkness
and chasing fear away.
A young Zafara cowers in the darkness,
then coming out to let
her courage be free again.

In the world of Neopia,
magic is seen everywhere.
From the magical springs to
the hearts of Neopets,
you can always count on
a mote or two,
and live in harmony of these
magical creatures.

Hills of Snow
By Shorthorn

The drifting snow shall sing its song,
as the time waves idly by.
The chilling nights shall be prolonged,
as the warm winds at last die.

The dancing gales that swirl about,
whistle tales of events gone.
Though the moon is slow, there is no doubt,
the peak will touch the dawn.

Steller wisdom, high above,
casting silver upon the ground,
glistening about Kreluder's love,
of all things bright and round.

Snow puffs plucked from downy trees,
place smiles on the fewer yeared.
Whereas those old and of weary needs,
rest beneath the old peak's beard.

Unis frolick to and fro,
laughing with the joy it brings.
With sugar, canes, and sweetened snow,
their horns the crowns of southern kings.

Of every place that can be seen,
only one world is as such.
An endless height and cold so keen...
Terror Mountain is that much.

With coats, boots, and gloves at-hand,
you will not grumble from the cold.
Relax; enjoy this whitened land,
for the many joys it does hold.
